    Regardless of what degree of consent the parents may have been able to give, the resulting children had absolutely NO say in the matter, but they now have to live with the consequences.

    When did the children EVER have a consent in being born?

    Eugenics carries with it the stigma of killing off the "undesirables", or having the state choose who may breed. This, while ominous, is more along the lines of choosing from among the many dozens possible combinations you might be able to produce.

    War is stupid, too, but it is much better than the alternative....being conquered.

    Similarly if they want to subsidize their industries, we should import as many of those goods as possible, since it's the Chinese taxpayer who is ultimately paying for Americans to have cheaper prices.

    Meanwhile, America loses all manufacturing capacity. Thank you for that.

    What are you other than a resource to them? Do you REALLY expect the CEO of your company to care about your granddaughters birthday party? I don't care about his? Or, anyone in the whole HR department, for that matter? I made an agreement to write code in exchange for a check every couple weeks. If they stop paying, I leave. If I find that someone will pay me more, I leave. If they need more code written, they need more resources. It really is that simple.

    What I do have a problem with is the managers thinking I can work on three or four projects at once with no loss of productivity. That makes as much sense as thinking that you can used half a shovel of dirt for iron ore and the other half for copper ore. It is just a denial of how reality works.

    Watson, and nearly every other AI you've heard about, are fancy sorting algorithms. I haven't seen anything that can't be replaced with a black box that has "FILTER" written on it in white letters.

    Avoiding a restaurant where all the food tastes like various forms of swamp mud is a not a phobia.

    I am a very food-curious person. I like to taste food from every culture I encounter. . . but, Indian hasn't made my list of "try this again".

    I graduated with a 4yr degree with $15k in debt. I worked full time to support a wife and two children while doing it.

    China is renowned for manipulating currency and closing off their markets, and the US has HUGE trade deficits with them as a result. Does anyone disagree with this?

    So, then the question becomes, "How do we correct this?" China isn't going to give up the treasure willingly. Whoever the President is won't get results by asking politely. You'll never win by trying to negotiate from a point of weekness. What other tool does the President hold to negotiate a trade agreement other than the threat of tariffs? How effective is a threat once you demonstrate that you are unwilling to use it?

    You're "peaceful" counter-protestors had surrounded the man's car and were beating on it with clubs, just like they did to many others and continue to do. What you consider non-violent is enlightening.

    After what happened to Kavanaugh, you still question the wisdom of this policy? Just HOW was Kavanaugh supposed to defend himself against an evidence-less claim? How would Pence defend himself? Why does EVERY company I've worked for in the past 15 years have glass sections beside the doors on EVERY conference room? Yes, it is to combat sexual harrasment.

    It is not "anti-woman". It is common sense. And WE are just fine with that.
