We could be drilling for water on Europa and mapping Io and many more mission if we saved on manned exploration of Mars. We could have a nuclear powered glider swooping around Mars at low altitude gathering data. The need for humans in places that are dangerous to them is moot. Robots can do this for less.
I have seen some photos from the Mars Explorer that clearly show Thoat, Calot, and Mad Zitidar tracks. Nasa refuses to acknowledge this. If you look at the pictures from the Valley Dor, just above the lost sea of Korus, it's obvious.
The US government is acting in the interest of both the insurance companies and the politicly connected makers of the X-Ray machines. They never cared about the safety of the people. They never do. I remember all the claims Tesla motors made about the original sports car. Top Gear UK tested it and most of the performance claims turned out ot be less than 1/2. It was utter junk. I would like to see Top Gear (who I trust) test this new Tesla (who I no longer trust).
I'm sure they will only use this in countries populated by brown (non-white) people that speak in funny languages. Therefor, the top brass os the US military shouldn't really care about "collateral casualties".
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100. It is superior to the iPhone in any way I could measure. Android Gingerbread is smooth and seamless and has fixed the "chunkyness" of Froyo.
