I think it's time to abolish time zones all together. In reality most of the world works off of UTC. Displaying different offset times only confuses things. Maybe it made sense in the 1800s but not anymore with the global economy.
I purchased a 2008 Macbook pro and applecare. Near the end of my applecare my motherboard died. They gave me a new 2011 Macbook Pro no charge. So I haven't needed to purchase another system in 5+ years...
I've been using Chrome OS for over 2 years since google sent me a CR-48. I use it daily to catch up on news, emails, comics, facebook.... It sits on my nightstand is perfect for how I use it. The OS is really nice and easy to use. I would no hesitate to buy one of these devices for my dad, aunt, etc where I have to be "tech support".
I agree, WebOS is really nice. I picked up a TouchPad last week and so far I'm really impressed. I have used Android since the original release date of the T-Mobile G1 and I have a ASUS Transformer that is nice but I don't pick it up over my Macbook. I've found myself using the Touchpad quite a bit. I don't know how to explain it other than it's very comfortable to use.

As someone that has to deal with DST and timezones in the IT world I say we go with straight GMT and get rid of all of the rest. Then let local areas adjust accordingly. So in central time zone areas we go to work @ 14:00 GMT and get off at @ 23:00...
Trumpet was a great solution for tinkerers and enabled many of us to get on the "net". Not sure why you have to crap on it so bad however I feel bad for anyone that had to support anything on win31.
You can't let corporations that pay for the infrastructure decide how they can continue to pay for the infrastructure? Truth is, true net neutrality would bankrupt the providers of the network. I guess we need a public option for long haul internet and ISPs.
I posted the info last night in the thread about someone stealing google's auth code. I don't think it's a dictionary attack. I think it's related to using the password on other sites. Happend to my wife right after setting up a Nike account. No malware detected. I guess it could be fishing sites.

It's because FLAC rocks... There has been no need to update it. It's one of the huge open source/open spec success stories.

Umm, yeah it's called we are running out of money so let's releas a report so we can secure more funding...
I agree... Chromebooks are great for parents :) They just work and tech support is nil.

I'm going to go right now and buy something from Newegg.. Not sure what but I'm going to buy something.
Just move to PostgreSQL and be done with it?
I have 350 heads on a 305 engine and a Nikon D3200 with a 18–55 with a new DX-format CMOS that can do 3.4 FPS while I chat over IAX using G.729.
This is exactly what I did wit my 10 year old. I would say it was a success. He has since replaced the video card himself. I would call it a success.
I can still remember how the Model I smelled.
It's too bad that Delphi didn't win out. It was a much better language/environment that VB6.

All of the rumors over the years of Google buying Sprint and now Google builds out the GoogleNet in sprints front yard.... Hmmm.....

No, more like Ubuntu is to Debian what Donald is to Daffy.
Very nice "Nails" reference MrEricSir.
That doesn't work on the Vibrant as the GPS software subsystem is different than the Epic/Capitivate for some reason.
They didn't say they would "fix" it, they said they would "optimize" it. I wish they would have said they would fix it.

There is a T-Mobile version according to the FCC filing.
