I bought my first 3D card from canopus because it had 6 meg. It was the absolute best 3DFX card available. It cost around $250 at the time. It was a sweet card but within 6 months a better and cheaper card came out and I decided I would never buy the latest and greatest card again. My rule of thumb is to stay 2 generations behind the best and you will have a card that can play any game out there. This may change as soon as a DX9 game comes out but I really can't see a game company "require" anything greater than a DX7 card or they wil really linit their audience....
Any true nerd would have read this yesterday. Change your slogan to "New for Nerds. Stuff that Mattered Yesterday". I used to read slashdot for the most up to date news but lately slashdot has been behind at least a day in the cutting edge news.
I sure did but I really couldn't understand the story in that context. Then I read the story again without thinking of Clearcase and was still confused....
I still have a disk of the preview version of Caldera Network Desktop. I really had high hopes for Caldera at this time (it was 94/95). It as a distribution based on the 1.0 kernel and used something called Looking Glass for the window manager. The interesting thing is that it was based on Redhat (4.6 I think). It was the first distro I saw reviewed by a big magazine. Now al I can say is goodbye caldera/sco. I'm glad to see you go....
Heh.. I thought that you stated the goal in rgvac much better than I could so I used your words. Guess I should have quoted you so I'll do this now. MagerValp describes the C-1 project: "The default mode is a C64 compat- ible one, but the machine just boots the FPGA from an IDE device at power on, so it could theoretically be pretty much anything."
Yep.. the batteries will not last if you use the machine plugged in most of the time. If you are using the machine plugged in and are not charging the battery then remove the battery. This is the only way to make the battery last.

I jsut got the las peice of the puzzle I need to start on my control panel for my MAME cabinet. With a few days off I'm going to start the project. I will post the progress on my website.
This sets the stage for some really ugly lawsuits. If the courts can order them to include java then can other companies request that their software be included? The next thing you know Redhat will be required to ship with.net.
I knew there would be a reference to a Bolo LGM but I didn't think it would be the first comment. BTW: There is a windows and linux version of Bolo available at http://www.winbolo.com
"Starting by describing the installation, well, it was the best I ever saw on a Linux distro (the installer and other parts of the OS are based on Corel's Linux - Xandros bought the rights last year). "
Have you ever used Ami Pro(now Word Pro)? It's a very capable word processor. It's really too bad that IBM dropped the ball when they acquired Lotus. It would be really nice(cool) if they followed in SUNs footsteps and released it OpenSource(TM). I'm guessing that this will never happen but one could only hope.

Pool house. It's just the shipping that would kill it. I'm sure my neighbors would love a train in my backyard.

Here are Dennis Ritchie's Comments from usenet and some supporting documentation from the USL vs. BSDI case.

I found this in the alt.folklore.computers news group.
Need I say more. These have been re-released as a new game and they are doing great in the bars. Time to re-release Marble Madness.
Zoid

How about ID3 tags, seekability, and built in md5 verification?

Maybe he is using that gasoline powered helicopter engine as a power backup...
We should ban all rocks. I can't believe people have rocks on their land. I think everone with rocks shoud be arrested!
I was wondering the same thing. It seems like my hands knew exactly where to go. I didn't even bounce off a wall before getting through the maze...
