As far as gaming goes you could also keep you PC and install Windows. You don't need a PS2. FreeBSD is nice but Linux has got better marketing ad a name. Everybody heard "Linux" at least once, much less people know FreeBSD.

  8. I Still Think on Episode II Gets Rave Review · · Score: 1

That the series was complete with The Return of the Jedi and that these new movies don't add nothing. They take out something actually, because the past in the original movies was something mysterious , something unknown that left to the imagination, casting a big shadow on the "present". Instead now we have 2 movies that are supposed to be in the past but where , because in reality our technology advanced, the special effects and the overall technlology appears much more advanced than the "future", even if they dress them in a "70s" style to make them look funky and old. Episode 1 was much more a Disney movie than a Star Wars movie, they could have replaced Jar Jar with Donald Duck and it would have been funny at least :)

Mike Myers makes money with an old idea , MGM makes money with an older idea. I don't see the problem. I also saw the preview of Goldmember and they make use of a midget to be "funny" and it's not funny at all, it's another old idea, they used to do that in circuses. Im glad he pays for his unoriginality.

Outlook 2001 doesnt seem to have the problem. I guess if you pay an extra 400$ to microsoft they even bring you up to standards and allow you to read "free" e-emails :) I don't think Linux was ever meant exclusively as a social shelter OS anyway.

Changing the compiler to improve the speed of a program is braindead anyway. To me a compiler has to be -reliable- not just "fast", most optimizations that really make a difference are implemented at the algorythm level, or through hand-coded assembly.

  24. Demise IIS on Apache 2.0 vs. IIS · · Score: 1

I don't thing Microsoft is gonna replace IIS with an Opensource product anytime soon. I had recently problems getting apache 1.3 to work properly on Win32, (first a buffer overflow in PHP then a crasher bug in mod_ssl), in the end i got both bugs patched and it's working. In my struggles i even tried the beta of Apache 2.0 but looking in the TODOs of mod_ssl (now integrated in the Apache distributions), i saw that the port is like 60% complete. Let alone the insecurities of IIS, Apache as of now is hardly the most stable webserver on Win32.
