Do NOT use steel wool in your plasma globe project. STEEL WOOL IS HIGHLY FLAMMAMBLE. You can start it burning with a 9v battery.
DO use copper Chore-Boy potscrubber. That is what everyone uses, and the idea originally came from a guy named Ray, who wandered around a grocery store looking for something to replace the bare-HV-wire-wrapped-on-a-grommet that would arc thru the glass after a few months.
I worked at the first plasma globe mfr, as did Ray. If you see a plasma globe or tube in a museum, it might be one of ours.
I pointed out the poor web site because all the gopes and dreams of those opposed to black box voting seem to be resting on A WEB DESIGNER.
I shall assume everything you say about the technology is true. Now, can you tell me why A WEB DESIGNER is trying to defeat its security, instead CRYPTOLOGISTS, COMPUTER SCIENTISTS, and HACKERS?
Who is on your team besides web designers? If you can't give us names we know, you are out of your league.
I am not impressed with that web site, either. No one else on a dial-up will be, either.
What are your organization's qualifications for testing these systems? Do you have ANY well-known security people there? Why would you have a WEBMASTER make this challenge? How about a CS PhD? If you fail to find any security issues in the system you are presented with, you have proved nothing and given Diebold PR they could not buy.

How about posting the code here, Roxanne? A 'few of your expert friends' will be happy to help you out.
Would somebody post some facts? I know somebody out there knows the IPs, so we can see if it's only the DNS down.
When I first heard about Alj.. being down yesterday, it was just badly lagged. Their video feed was suffering from too many users, so there's no reason to think the web server is any more capable.
Surgeon: "I'm sorry, your loved one died on the table. There was a failure of the teleoperating robot." Bereaved relative: "What, did someone trip over the power cord?" Surgeon: "No, a backhoe operator in New Jersey increased the latency of the ping."
That quote is from the Tom Lehrer song, not from WvB. Funny, though.
Oppenheimer did not object to using the bomb on Japan. Einstein was totally uninvolved after his letter to FDR warning him Germany could be working on one.
dice plays God with youniverse!
If you rolled 10 6-sided dice the number of possible outcomes is 6^10 = 60,466,176 one of which is all 4s.
But I'd love to play in your casino sometime.

I submitted this on the 23rd but the eds rejected it.
Guy's email is in the WinXP credits because they use his GPL'd code, so you may have gotten a virus that used his address. Like the 600k he's gotten.

I should be working, but instead I'm reading Slashdot.
His '1337 c0py1/\/6 5k1ll5?
Right, they just post whatever was on memepool yesterday, it's all good stuff, huh?
At least it's been months, not hours.
If we had GPL style licenses for standards, companies would have to publish any extensions they came up with.
The sale price is $98,000,000.

I didn't make that a link because I wanted slashcode to annoy you with the extraneous blank.
I read Cryptonomicon in three days, you need a month to read Kevin's thin tome?
Now that we all have flying cars and robot housekeepers, it's just not relevant any more.
I'm going to go back to work pushing this button now...

Since it comes via fiber, it's Glasstroturf.

'Cuz if you named it IBDb.com, it'd sound like that annoying robot from Buck Rogers.
..don't you think it will survive another?
We won't be using cruise missiles on MUSEUMS, after all.
yet they don't mention that in their AUP. Fine, my remote access is telnet, ftp, and some randomly chosen ports for http.
I hope I did not randomly choose a forbidden port!
Why would you do surgery across the Internet?

No one has used an atomic bomb since 1945. That is because *politicians* did not want to use it, not because scientists told them they shouldn't.
Oppenheimer lost his clearance because of his association with Communists in the 30's. He was not one, however. Truth didn't matter much in the 50's.
Einstein? Peace, schmeace. How many have died on all sides just because Israel exists, something AE supported?
If you read RR's book, or droppped it on your foot, you would remember. It's about 3 inches thick.

Read Rhode's book.
