They've been suing gun manufacturers for years.. the bottom line is that the *kids*, and no one else, killed these people. It's been said 100 times on the site already today. Sue the parents for not controlling their kids.
Apple has already done this with their iMac flat panels. The entire inside of an iMac is a big metal heatsync. Through heat tubing, the heat is channeled off the proc to meet up and be disippated through the whole case. One fan sucks air from the bottom vents to blow the heat out. Very elegant.
indiDVD dvd+/-r writer. I can tell you I have 2 new dvd players that refuse to read any +R media.. My computer dvd drives also will not read them. I've always had best luck with compatibility with DVD-R's and high quality media.
I know apple clearly states that you are going to take a 10 to 15 percent disk performance hit when enabling the journal. I'm not sure about everyone else, but with the update and the journal everything seems even faster than 10.2.1. Anyone have similar experiences? I'm launching apps and just generally messing around. I've noticed that photoshop 7 loads in about 7 seconds as opposed to the 13 that it used to as well. Could be imagining it...
Actually, in iTunes 3, it will "organize" files based on mp3 tags, meaning it will rename the file and group it into directories based on id3 tag info. That kind of shoots your whole arguement to hell.
I've set which WEP key to use in my linksys WAP. I forced it on key 1. I then took the hex key it gave me and put that in for the password in the wireless network. For some reason I can't use the passphrase and let it adjust. Hope this helps, it works for me at least.
Apple finally fixed the visulization plugins in itunes 3 so that you get decent framerates. They also let it take advantage of the powerbooks widescreen display. Nice update
Using an Apple. Since Apple will not allow copy restricting software into their machines. Good or bad, you can at least make legit copies of your software with zero issues.
How many of these virii are written by the anti-virus software writers. Doesn't it seem really strange that updates to detect, fix or remove these virii are almost immediately available? It just seems to me that someone can't really analyze what these things do and write a fix that fast. I mean, the software writers have to most to gain.
Let me just say it is next to impossible to get the antireflective film on the front of the lcd perfectly. The slightest defect in putting the film on creates 'amplified' visual artifacts on the screen. This kit is not (in my opinion of course) the end all be all.
I'm guessing since the article states they won't be able to make a profit on mass produced vehicles of this nature until 2010, that these are somewhere in the millions to manufacture. The breakdown that this article mentions, gives the impression that these are very much completely proof of concept cars costing millions to engineer.
Ok, so why are most of the BIG guys not doing it? Because they make exceptional money. I don't understand why anyone would change a system that is still making them money. It's commonly acknowledged on/. that the RIAA/labels are making more and more money. Why in God's name would they change?
It's simple supply and demand really. If you don't demand (or someone didn't) they wouldn't supply it. The music doesn't need to be to your taste to sell it. Seems/. is on a crusade to change society's views. It's going to take something better than bitching on a web site to get people interested in music, as in, the art form.
The funny part is that their follow-up album, Nevermind, was the one that actually made money and cost a reported $60,000 in studio time. The old addage is true, you need to spend money to make money.
Here's a completely unpopular viewpoint, do you want other members of/. deciding what you think you should make? Don't most people strive to make the most that the market will give them? Why should anyone on slashdot say what artists/labels/musicians should make on music? If you feel it's too much money, do what a potential employer would do to a high price would-be employee... move along and don't put the money in the product. Simple.
I've installed yellowdog on a powerbook g4 and I have to say setup is MUCH easier than on popular x86 hardware. Just given the fact that there is much more finite hardware when dealing with newer mac's. My experience has been very positive. I cannot, however, speak for the modem as I have not even tried to use it. Everything else worked right out of the box.
So is this a fine or has it collected royalties? Are they then saying IIS can proceed and leave the songs on it's server? It sure sounds like the company paid for licenses to me.
I believe IBM did this first with the Netvista line. The netvista predated the imac almost a whole year but was very pricey. I guess it's more in who makes it popular.
I believe that terrorism is the ability of someone or a group of people that convince a governed body that it's government can not protect it from 'bad people'. Seems to be different ends on the spectrum but I believe they are essentially doing the same thing.

Critics -- notably Intel -- argue that most desktop users have no need for 64-bit processing.
then to be redundant, Intel should face up to the fact that most users have no need for 2.8 Ghz processors.

I believe you can purchase it as of 6/18.

Yeah....and Time Warner sells cable service. Unlike your local stations which broadcast for free. Seems to be win/win for T/W.

A quick glance at usenet shows 11.2 days ago in alt.binaries.sounds.mp3 the new Celine Dion CD. Guess the protection didn't help much.
but will it be OSX native or are we going to have to rely on classic for it to work?
Except the big problem is that MSNBC is running the article now. How did this get modded up?
