  7. Internet exchange. on Ars Technica Inveighs Against Ad Blocking · · Score: 1

The main thing with internet is that it's free exchange of information. It's just profit-hungry news companies that needed ads to begin with (since other companies deals with physical products). It's basicly in the last few years that people are demanding that their web envadours are going to be financially secure and pay their salaries.

The main problem (cost) is that of bandwidth and the ads sure haven't made that easier.

I never use ad-blockers but when I see animated noisy ads I sure wish I would.. but instead I simply stop visiting those pages for most of the time. Ads are fucking annoying.

I now read the books again and I think that the movie adds a lot (in all sense of the word) but I really think the books are still a bit boring. I think they followed the books as good as they possibly could.

I really hope Jackson gets do do all movies in JRR's world.

The major software houses just fancy xbox360 and playstation 3 more... all game developers I know (and I know quite a few) seems to be targeting the xbox and ps, but almost never mention the wii at all. It just don't have the horsepower needed for top games and since they want to release on pc at the same time, they can't really make two versions with huge differences inbetween.

The ps3 has the same problem but has more horsepower underneath and still a big enough market to be targeted, but the xbox360 really has an advantage in being pc compatible.

I'm not really a fanboy of any consoles, I like the ps3 the most but I think the xbox has the best market at the moment. However I'm pretty sure nintendo has the best ecomomy, they never lost a dime selling one of their consoles tho the other depends on selling games to make up for the loss of the console.

At least this is what I'm told, feel free to correct any of my statements.
