I don't think they can really afford to make the same mistake again. Gamers have no doubt evolved (not unlike monkeys) and the types of people buying and playing games is much different from when Nintengo and Sega were battling it out.
However, I also beleive as gaming becomes more popular Nintendo missing the hardcore market isn't going to as big a deal when there are droves of casual gamers that don't necessarily want to decapitate people.
There are mods out there which will display your speed, height, etc. It's a pretty simple thing to change the fps and just test the values. Basically if you look at the article you can see they didn't need the source to do this testing as gravity and what not are configurable.
Is diesel really that hard to find where you are? It's not at all difficult to find in NC (I don't live in the sticks.) And those old mercedes are the reason diesel has such a bad reputation in the states. But VW has improved the TDI SOOOOO much, they aren't overly loud and obnoxious. If I wasn't into autocrossing, and fuel efficiency big factor for me I'd definitely be looking at diesel engines.
I for one could careless about who's footing the bill? Whether or not the school creates loyal MS users is irrelevant in the face of providing a quality education.

Heh when my beta failed I downloaded the final version. Started the installer but canceled. I think it somehow magically unlocked my beta, I haven't paid anything but it still works. Guess I'll see in about 20 days if that's really the case.
I was pretty sure that OpenGL 2.0 is supposed to be backwards compatible with 1.3. Everything in 1.3 can be implemented in 2.0. Though that refers to programming, doing the drivers might be a completley different beast.
This article just made me angry. I'm not sure why. But quite simply comsumers are fucking morons, and HP and MS are taking advantage of them. There is NO reason what so ever that every HP computer shouldn't just come with a full version of XP on cd with the computer; and maybe another cd with the drivers for proprietary HP harware. *grr*

I also think pericles ascending after Mark could be passed off to randomness of the time travel storm. Though having Pericles land so smoothly right in the middle of the battle was of course a very big stretch.
I want to know why the monkey landed great on the frist try and Mark got it wrong twice. Also how fucking close must that planet have been to earth? You figure that someone from earth could have just shown up to rescue the people from the crashed ship. Esp since their beacon was working.
If the apes evolved from the monkeys that came from the crashed ship (sheesh...I figured that out in the first 10 minutes of the movie. No surprises there!), where did the humans inhabiting the planet come from? Or are these humans 'leftovers' from us destroying the planet?

The major console systems as of before Dreamcast bowed out were Nintendo (Nintendo 64), Sony (Playstation 2) and Sega (Dreamcast), with Microsoft coming soon with the X-box. Nintendo has been slowly dying out over the past few years, with much of the Nintendo and Sega crowd going over to the Playstation and Playstation 2.
I think you and lots of other people out there are REALLY underestimating Nintendo. The fact is they sold more software than anyother video game company. Think pokemon and zelda. Nintendo does just create games, they create phenomenon. Now you take great games, and attach it to fast hardware (read GameCube) the fact is they are still major players. You haven't heard as much hype as X-box mainly because Nintendo has not decided to exaggerate the capabilities of its hardware. All those numbers microsoft like to spout out about rendering polygons is w/o any textures or light sources. GameCube has built all that in so that things are rendered through once with 8 textures per pixel and 4 or 8 light sources (i can't remember but there is lots of info on the GameCube sectoin at IGN).
Preliminary benchmarks show GameCube toasting PS2, and keeping up with and sometimes eXceeding X-Box performance hype. So we have great games, huge franchise, fast hardware. Oh and its goign to cost about half as much as PS2, and X-Box.

Definitely one of the saddest movies (not limited to anime) I have ever seen. The Saving Private Ryan of anime. Also the same director/creator did Princess Mononoke(sp?) which should be available in july.
I would really love to see some small label prepackage mp3's on the cd. As in you buy your cd put in your player and it works. Put it on your computer and just copy the mp3's from the disk rather than having to rip them yourself. latra
