Golf cart manufacturers are responding to the demand for EVs by creating a new class of "leisure" carts with turn signals and breaklights designed for the whole family. Local govs are starting to alter traffic laws to allow them on the roads or in special lanes.
PS2 drove DVD sales?! I would like to see evidence of that. I could see it having a negative impact on DVD player sales (I didn't buy a standalone player because of my PS2) but I would be willing to bet my leather office chair that the impact on DVD sales was negligible.
Too bad someone couldn't have posted some descriptions of what was stolen. There's an army of nerds out there that could have been checking pawn shops, eBay, Craigslist, etc.
Power leveling is the opposite of wishing your life away, it's like taking steroids. Same results as everyone else, but you get there so much faster!
The two MMOs I've played (FFXI and EverC) I would have paid decent money to skip certain segments of wandering through the same places, fighting the same monsters, over and over...
His previous "mountain repeater" claim was debunked as an out-and-out lie, I believe that's why he took down his forums. He has little grasp on the details behind wireless technology, why increase his stature as a tech pundit with a link from Slashdot?
At least your printer works at all... i got a cheapie Epson that still isn't supported under OSX. I love burning 40MB of ram just to boot Acrobat under classic so I can print pdfs.
Have to agree with the decision tho. The difference between OS9-X and 68K-PPC is that you (allegedly) can run all your apps under OSX's emulation so everything is already backwards compatible.
This sounds perfect to me... I can drop my monitor off at FreeGeek for $10, an old PC for free, or a really old PC for $5. Otherwise I'll sell it, or turn it into art.
Which is a shame because Bungie's tools for their Marathon game (basically prettied-up versions of the software that developers used to create levels) were awesome. Not sure if they ever released any tools for Myth...
I'm sure they could create a level/sprite/physics editor that would upgrade Halo' replay value 10x.
Today I read about the upcoming "copy protected" CDs that Universal plans to distribute because as Hilary Rosen claims: "the ease of `ripping and burning' are causing artists and record companies real harm."
I still haven't seen any research on artists losing revenue due to mp3 trading or creating backups. (Please reply with any information you might have that would prove me wrong.) The real harm to artists, and especially record companies, will come from the consumer backlash. I plan to boycott all such modified CDs that don't allow me to play music in my car, playstation and macintosh, or make backups and mp3s to play in my portable devices. I will also endeavor to educate my friends and family about these greedy tactics that attempt to fatten the distribution companies' bottom line at the expense of consumer's fair use rights.
I think you'll find that the consumers will veto Universal's proposal with the votes contained in their wallets. The landscape of music distribution is changing, and for some reason the major labels can't find the roadmap.
Find another local ISP (something you should have done in the first place!;)
If possible, one that isn't owned by Earthlink, AOL or MSN. Maybe there's a small, locally owned provider that would love to provide you with static IP service and lots of other goodies for about the same price.
I disagree.
Every little bit helps. Companies exist to make money, and the only way to end the spam is to create an environment where spam *costs* them money. Just imagine if 1000 or 10000 people did this.
Even if it's against companies I personally like (and getting Doritos and an N64 controller delievered in 40min at 10pm is something I like very much), I applaud this action. I'm going have to research the laws in my state.
go to Apple's feedback page, click the 'Management' radio button and let them know how you feel. If you are delaying or changing your mind about purchasing their products, let them know that too.
I found a chest high rack, on wheels, with an integrated power strip for $20 at a Catholic thrift store. It has a hand-scrawled sign that read: Closet? $20.
Wiped it down, put some Thinkgeek stickers over a few scratches and SHAZAM!, instant data center.
I got lucky, but you might help your chances by leaving a business card with the front counter. Maybe a quick description of what your looking for on the back...
From the NYT article: [The] goal, Microsoft and Mr. Winer would agree, is nothing less than a computing lingua franca - a network software environment in which programs could run and be maintained on a variety of different machines, regardless of which operating system they use.
Uh, actually... I don't think that MS and Mr. Winer agree on that. The only way Microsoft would agree to that statement is after taking out everything following the last comma.

McDonalds serves gourmet burgers too!
I wish bloggers would get over it.
Isn't there some dupes to post?
Is this a ratings issue, or a glut of content issue?
Oooh! It displays mangled css even faster! Sweet!
let the battle begin

Here's what I sent them...

There's one feedback method, I plan to let them know that I'll never buy these types of CDs. Anyone else have better contact info? Email addresses?

It's not... the Cat5 cable is taped to the port.
