Here's a thing - google "united space alliance" - basically it's boeing and lockheed - their logo even incorporates a space shuttle - Nasa may run mission control but United Space Alliance is the one services and prepping the thing.
That describes almost exactly the way NASA works - if you think the space shuttle is too expensive to run, then blame boeing and lockheed who operate it on behalf of NASA.
Even if it's ok to track somebody without a warrant, how can they install something in your car without one ?
As far as I can tell it would be hard to make a hang on magnet type device that could receive a signal from the underside of the car, therefore I'm thinking the actual installation must have been something invasive that should have required a warrant.
The difference between registered and unregistered works is that statutory damages are available for registered works without having to prove actual damages. For infringements of unregistered works you are still entitlted to damages but only in an amount that you can actually prove.
Even if you accept that MAC is a subset of PC there's no harm in differentiating the MAC from other PCs in this way. Remember the adds for a CDMA phone provider something about "The clear alternative to cellular" - CDMA is just another cellular protocol not an alternative at all.
And you SUV won't stand up to being blown out of a volcano or driven underwater either - but there's a difference between marketing fluff and outright fraud. The apple commercials are clearly the former.
Without a labor lawyer this gets complicated. Generally you are also protected from being fired for excercising any rights given to you by state law. In particular the right to be paid as agreed for the work you do.
He's reading the constitution backwards. It is not a list of rights granted to the people, but rather a limited list of powers granted to the government by the people. The bill of rights further limits those powers.
This is headline grabbing by a prosecutor that's all.
They filed a bogus indictment under a statute that plainly doesn't apply to the conduct in question - why do I say this ? because they had another statute passed last year to make this kind of conduct illegal which doesn't take effect for like 180 more days. Trouble is it takes about 2 years for the system to figure out that the indictment is bogus.
Until they make filing totally bogus indictments a crime with jail time this kind of thing will continue.
Do I have to be the first to point out that methane doesn't have a smell. This is the natural gas that gets piped into peoples homes - the smell is added so you can detect leaks.
Here's a thing - If you hear of a widget named iWidget - who immediately comes to mind as the maker of said iWidget ?
That's what counts in trademark law.
Cisco has made no effort to build up any brand around the iPhone trademark. There's a product that came out a couple of weeks ago after the registration was expired. Thats it.
If they were serious about building a brand image, anybody who referred to an apple iPhone in the press should have received a letter from Cisco's lawyers explaining that iPhone is a Cisco product and the mark should not be connected with any other company's product. Xerox has a massive department just to do this.
Apple on the other hand has put a lot of effort into marketing the iWidget brand.
And random 20 minutes chunks of the movie will be repeated before major scenes so the movie will be nearly 4 hours long with only 80 minutes of storyline.

If that's troll then what is flamebait ? :-)
It's a shame, really, that they're limiting the competition to UK citizens.
At least by doing that they don't run the risk of being thrown into jail for violating some obscure US law.
The use of the word degree is probably more redundant than it is incorrect.

should have previewed ... lost some of my parameters to tcodump - but the point is still the same.
They don't have "tcpdump -w " ?
Maybe they shouldn't run an ISP on windows then.

Really, I thought the ozone layer was caused by interaction between upper atmospheric oxygen and solar radiation.
Yes we are - I think it was mentioned in the fall.
To quote king george "Nothing important happened today". Of course he didn't have the benefit of instant communication :-)
That's what experiments are for, you disprove a current theory and then start work on the new theory that fits the observations from the experiment.

Isn't radio subject to a compulsory license anyway ... ie the library of congress sets the royalty rate. Or is that just "free" radio ?

Yes and now the mistake is thinking that the earth is 3 dimensional.
