    I would argue that they are different kinds of faith. One is the faith taht some invisible outside magic force will save you. the other is faith in yourself and in other people that if you just keep at it you will survive and and come out ahead.
    One strikes me as being empowering, one strikes me as rendering you helpless.

    So what? Cry me a river, but how stupid do you have to be to put up embarrassing personal info and pictures damaging to your reputation, and then be surprised when they are used to be embarrassing and damaging?
    I had a friend who put up a simple myspace page, and thought it was anonymous, and was shocked when using just the nick and e-mail she had, i was able to trace it through other pages to get her home address and phone number. Took 3 minutes. People don't think. And no amount of legislation or news stories will change that.

    I don't really care about in game ads. They add to the realism of the scenery, at least in most games. Our whole lives are saturated with ads, a few billboards in a game make it more realistic. If the ads are remotely applicable to me, fine. If not, ill just ignore them, like every other ad. Plus, it will backfire, as people spray paint comments on the more annoying ones, and advertisers realize we dont even notice their crappy ads, for the most part.

    Imagine every net junkie, script kiddie, phone phreak, hacker, cracker ane leet sysadmin, suddenly denied access to evertyhing that mkes the internet interesting. There is nothing left but to tinker with the network itself. If the internet suddenly has no value to them, then there is no reson not to tear it apart for amusement.

    Well, i look at it this way, it took me 6 years to shift from windows 2000 o XP for home use, and thatwas cause 2000 dosent support multiple monitors. Thats it. thats the only reason. As for fre OSes Iuse OSX on a mac laptop as my primary enviornment, and would probably shift to linux if t could play half life 2 and...well, thats the only requirement

    I'll be guilt free when in 7 years i finally feel the need to switch to vista and download a fully cracked and DRM free version off the file sharing site of choice. It must suck to be one of your paying customers.

    IM glad to see some sense. This will help cut down on crime, because now the cops can just pull over and frisk a guy for being black, and you KNOW all them mexicans have knives. Oh, and they can just freeze the account of anyone italian, since theyre all in the maffia.

    WEll, look at it this way, im pulling it down to do a search for my familys name, and then to run through any other random names that comes to mind. Once you have a name, then you can start tyring things togethere. Or maybe you just want to blackmail everyone who looked up "horsepron". You have a name, and maybe a general location, you can go to town. I think this is going to be a HUGE mess, and i think it will be much easier than you think to narrow it down to a specific name and user.

    I jsut finished paying off all my student loans a year ago, along with a car payment. in retrospect, i would have gotten a crappier car. its amazing what a diference another 500 bucks a month in you pocket make for your life.
