because up till recently this hasnt been detrimental? Having a metablosim tha hoarded fat was a good thing, because you never knew where your next meal was coming from. IM not sure. But there are lots of things that are harmful today that were benefical in the past. Look at cicle cell disease, it dosent make sense unless youre living in africa.
Anecdote from a co-worker, that he swears is true: HE was doing support back in the day of early brother typewriter/processor type machines. Had a VERY nervous user who had taken one of these luggables up to a conference in new york city and couldnt get it to work, she had never used an electric typewriter of this kind before. He walks her through setting it up, getting hte ribbon in and everything else and just as theyre finishing, he tells her to turn it on. AS she flips it on, the lights in the room go out. The lights in New York go out. No matter what he said, he could not convice this nice hysterical lady that she did not cause the great blackout of nineteen seventy something.
Frankly, i think he made up the story, but i find it amusing.
You are right for a very limited value of right. However, have you ever heard of hybridism? Or inbreeding? If the ofsping of an eskimo/austrailian aborigine were dumped in the outback, he would do worse in the heat and sun and local deseases than the pure aborigianl ofspring, who would in turn fare worse dumped above thae artic circle. However, the pure offspring is much more likely to get wiped out by some genetic disease or introduced disease than the child of mixed offspring. However, when was the last time sitting around in a desert was truly part of human survival? Im willing to guess that the kid with the far spread genes will survive much better than any kind of "purebread" anscestor in any given city on the planet.
ANyhow, the differences in human genes are so neglegible as to make this largely a moot point.
and besides, thats a lot of work, printing it and faxing it. I need to test my new fax machine anyway, just e-mail me your info and ill fax it for you!
IN one of my classes for forensic science, they mentioned that somethign like 5-10 percent of the population are "secretors" who secrete small amounts of blood products in their sweat, so that labs could actually get a blood type off a fingerprint. Im wondering if these might be the people who ahve the most problem. I could be wrong on the details about this, the calls was 10 years ago.
I have seen this on multiple laptops, and HP profile 5 machines. If the machine locks up in the wrong way, the processor/Hard drive are still working like mad, but the fan controll has been turned off. I have seen 2 laptops killed because of this, and multiple laptops and HPss that have ahd to be shut down long enough to let the damn things cool down to be functional.
The citgroup building in manhattan. It was well desigend to the standard enginnering principles by its architecht/engineer William LeMessurier. Shortly after its construction, he got a call from a student who asked him about a different type of wind shear, and he assured the student the building was bult to withstand all winds up to like 130mph. After a little thought, he ran the numbers again as the student brought up, and realized that a hurricane might take out the building, and cause a domino effect that would take out most of manhatten. This man actually stepped up and told the buildings owners about the problem, and came up with a plan to fix it. This story seriously restored my faith in humanity, and he is one of the great unknown heroes of our age. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut, and no one could have faulted him, he did everything right. But he still stepped up and said "theres a problem with what i did...." This is one of the best examples of ethics i have ever seen.
The second I am required to carry internal identification papers to walk down a public street in this country is the last time i ever carry them on my person. Fuck it. My grandpa and most of his generation almost got themselves killed trying to stop this 60 years ago, and I'll be damned if ill put up with it now.
If you are ever woken up by the smell of smoke/fire in your house, you have just about three minutes to get out before you die. Basicly, the amount of smoke and gasses in the air that are enough to wake you up are jsut slightly les then it takes to kill you.
Also, a tiny fire can turn life threatening in jsut a couple of minutes. Fire is not somehitn to be fucked with.
My parents were in that situation. Most of the house was packed to move, but my mom just wouldnt get the process started. The diswasher was a big help, when it burst into flames and burned the house down it provided a lot of incentives for them to get a new place.
The US is the only country that assumes im a criminal. "Did you pack your bags yourself? Did anyone else have controll of them? Did anyone give you anything?" Why do they ask this? Not for your safety, but so that when they find drugs they can use it against you in court.
Theres 2 forms. One blue one for US customs and passport controll, and usually another one from various airlines. The form from the airline involves a complex process called "throwing it away". They never check it, or even collect it most of the time.
Much safer to use something like 15 gallons of liquid petrolium distillate that is highly inflammable at room temperature.
I read about them doing this 10 fucking years ago, only it was dogs. Inject the shit into some people already!!!!
And yes, I am a little pissed off at how slow and screwed up the FDA and AMA are. Stevia is bad, but have some more ritalin children.

I doown a mac, and have been using it for two years, and never realized this was new. Now that you mention it, it is briliant.

More or less. I just got pissed off because too many people were marking my comments as trolls or offopic, when they just didnt agree.
And i thought the last mayor was a psycho.
