Doesn't it make sense to have easily distinguishable notes anyway, blind or not? Finding the correct note in your wallet is much slower with dollars than Euros or pounds.
Surely no one reads Slashdot for news any more? There are far better places to get nerd news, Slashdot is just a tech community comment site, whatever the slogan says.
Indeed. I would blame it on the antiquated nature of Britain's housing, but it seems that a lot of the new houses being built have equally small rooms.
Personally, I'd like to knock through my two ~12' square reception rooms into one, but I think my landlord might have something to say if I did.
I was thinking that too. My front room is 11'x11' and there are tens of thousands of identical Victorian terraces around here. My 32" looks big in that room, a 50" would be ridiculous.
Aqua is optimised for the hardware in that it is drawn using the 3d hardware of the graphics card. That's why things like window dragging are so much smoother under Aqua than X11.
I've been working from home for nearly two years now as a software developer, personally I'd like to switch to an office environment. Most office workers I say that to think I'm crazy, but working from home is very isolating (nearest co-worker is 1000 miles away), especially in such a narrow, focused job as development.
It's the same for almost every topic on Slashdot, sometimes I wonder why they bother putting news stories at all and don't just put debate titles. Any mobile phone story turns into an "I just want a simple phone" argument etc.
I believe that Photoshop Elements 4 stores the tag data in the photo headers. In general, PSE4 on Windows is a really good photo organiser, I prefer it to iPhoto in fact.
But what is 'good enough' changes. A text editor with word wrap would seem incredible to someone who's only used a typewriter, but people expect a little more than that from a word processor these days.
Now that the Wii has been released, has anyone found any more technical details (CPU etc.) about it? I know it's not about the graphics, but I'd like to know a bit more about what it's capable of.
Gamecube games look great on my 32" Samsung LCD HDTV (1366 x 768, RGB SCART connection). I think a lot of modern LCDs do a good job of displaying SD content.
The site reminds me too much of the gesture-controlled radio in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: you have to sit perfectly still while listening or you'll change the channel.
The signature is next to useless for security. Most shop staff don't check it anyway and once you steal the card, you have all the information you need to make a transaction. And you have to be pretty slow typing your PIN for somebody else to see it - just use one hand to cover the pad while you type the PIN quickly using three or four fingers.
Indeed, the system in the US does seem to be different from elsewhere. Here (UK) there's no difference really between a credit/debit card when you buy something, you just put the card in the reader and type your PIN, there'll never be any different charges AFAIK. I believe mainland Europe has had a similar system for a while.
Indeed, and personal responsibility of course comes first.
That said, unlike hobbies like golf WoW is specifically designed to be addictive and to keep the player playing for as many hours as possible. That at least makes it worthy of discussion.
Miyamoto mentioned that they were considering releasing updated versions of Gamecube games as budget Wii games.
Here in the UK we've survived multiple changes in currency size and shape over the years.

That's basically what my bank does, I have a little keyfob thing that generates an access code every time you press the button.

Not many people have room for a projector, hence the success of flat screen TVs. Also, what does a projector look like with the lights on?

It is a DVD drive, it just doesn't play DVD movies because the Wii software/firmware support isn't there.

Don't forget to add on the 7 days salary these guys could have earned instead of waiting in line.

How is that possible - if you can't see the hand, how do you tell which finger is on which key?

I think a lot of countries are adding security by requiring PINs for swipe credit/debit card transactions.
The latest itunes and iPod firmwares say they support gapless playback, but I haven't tried it myself.
Exactly. I bet the "Tonight with Trevor MacDonald" team are preparing another biased, scare-mongering, innaccurate anti-game half-hour right now.
