I would suspect, that the one killing implement designed with the sole purpose of killing another human is the sword. It's not suited to skinning animals or perparing a meal, it wouldn't make a good utility tool like a hand knife or dagger would.
It's not useful for cutting down brush as much as a machete would be.
Only farmers and the Grim Reaper would carry a scythe and not be considered foolish.
You certainly wouldn't use it to hunt boars, bears, buffalo, or other large game as you would *really* want to use a spear or some other distance weapon.
If anyone else can give me another _practical_ use for the design of a sword besides killing people, I'd love to hear it.
Given the number of reponses to this news item, I'd guess that no one cares at this point... guess the game got nailed by the sophomore curse after all.

Is there still anywhere out there to get a game together? I don't recall the gamefinder that was used before (was it GameSpy??), but I'm sure that's over now...
I've been there, and totally understand your concern. On a sufficiently lengthy timeline, someone is going to shut down a server in the middle of the day by mistake.
The best way around this one is simply to add "Log Off" to the Start menu. It's in Advanced Settings under "Properties".
(But then, some would say that there's a difference between a Northern Democrat and his cousin to the South, but I can't speak to that)
That said, I am aware of these facts, you're aware of these facts, but what we know is irrelevant to those who base their choices upon a logical fallacy.
The busted logic flow goes: being Republican is a "white thing" - Whites are untrustworthy, therefore Republicans are untrustworthy. And now we're in a cycle - Blacks don't vote Republican, so being Republican is a "white thing".
Given history, does it seem like the overwhelmingly Democratic sway of Black America is some kind of odd Stockholm Syndrome or something?
And is this whole political battle the true hidden message of the series "Red vs Blue"? Two sides, fighting a battle over they don't even know what, but if either side were to eradicate the other, it would eliminate the purpose of either?
I think it's more a stretch of logic, based on a certain world-view, than a propaganda thing.
I'm trying to avoid making too many generalizations, but then, isn't that the basis of the issue at hand?
Let's say that many Black families have their roots in the South. White folk in the South are typically perceived by Black folk as being potentially bigoted. Awareness of the possibility is always there. In some cases, it could literally be considered a survival instinct.
White people with money are trusted even less. Many southern Whites tend towards the Republican party. Many people with money also tend to be Republican.
So it all comes down to these guys not trusting anything that those guys support. How do you break a reflex created by hundreds of years of training? Should you? And if so, why?
The problem with blanket-covering an area with cameras is that after a while, the criminals simply go elsewhere...
This is probably the plan. As it is, the rising cost of real estate in the city (seriously, $360k for 1000 square feet?) is forcing the lower-middle into the suburbs (which is where people used to want to go).
The fact that you are getting paid is your appreciation.
No, the fact that I am getting paid is my compensation for the work that I do. My employer isn't doing me a favor by allowing me to work there, we have a business agreement.
I have friends whose days are spent solving the problems of people who then treat my friends as if they are the cause of the problems.
Honestly, I don't care whether or not my profession has a "day". You have to agree, though, it's a good feeling when out of the blue someone says that they appreciate what you do, regardless of what your job may be.
For my part, I
want my peers, my community, and the government to know what I read, and what I think. Only then can they know how strong the opposition to their criminal power really is.
And, with them knowing the strength of the opposition, how would you expect them to react?
It's very difficult, having given someone a power or privilege, to later take it away. People react strongly to it. We even have a colloquialism for someone giving something and taking it back - "indian giver". How many times in your life have you heard the government say, "We see a lot of you are unhappy about this thing that we're doing. We're sorry, we'll stop now"?
You appear to believe that the government, seeing the discontent of many, will decide to "play fair". By this reasoning, calling Indians "Native Americans" probably means that everything's OK now between us.
Those with "criminal power", as you put it, will most likely be willing to behave criminally in order to retain that power.
why were the people in PKDs world so interested in this virtual suffering.
he says many times that it give people the feeling of empathy of shared struggle, but if you need a box to give you that then you are in deep shit.
why have a box when you have a life.
Have you ever met an avid watcher of The Bachelor? Or The Real World?
Points to download games. Not a bad idea in and of itself, but I have a problem with how much you have to purchase in order to get the points. It's an annual $24.95 (which will automatically renew every year) in order to use their software(GameSpy 3d) without being interrupted by (very annoying when you just want to get on with playing a game) ads. This is their base products, and I would imagine that this is their biggest seller.
The average game seems to cost around 600 points. How many points do you receive for the $24.95 annual subscription? Goose egg. Zero.
Now, they really push the $79.95 package - no ads anywhere on the GameSpy network (and you must admit, they've got some obnoxious ads), a newsletter, and some magazine subscriptions which will likely get you goodness-knows-how-many more additional junk mails and telemarketer calls at home.
For an extra $10, you get a membership on IGN. And for your $89.95 subscription, you get 1,200 points. To get the "best" deal, 3000 points (which will get you 5 games on par with Prince of Persia SoT or Civ 3), you've got to sign up for the $89.95 subscription for two years. Maybe this is a good deal for someone, but it's not me.

"Pope" is a title.

It's simple - just change the gravitational constant of the universe.
There was a time when this was a necessary position, as most people are loathe to break open an egg for their cake batter and pour in an embryo.
To the best of my knowledge, no one's ever downloaded a prerelease album in order to get a headstart on developing exploits for it.
Presently, I fail to see marriage having any benefit beyond the monetary. Help me out here.
I do not think it means what you think it means.

But how would that work - Sir Lord British? That's like, redundant in so many different ways...

The same has been said of the current administration.

Her work on Knights of the Old Republic as Bastila was pretty memorable, too.

My brain instantly said, "Update Punch-Out!!!". Such fond memories of that game and it's stacked screens.
