How is this any different than any other spyware program? Bonzi Buddy, Morpheus, KaZaa, etc, etc, contain reporting spyware. How is this any different?
So it doesn't have terms and agreements. Big deal. If they added Terms and Agreements that said it was not a valid crack but indeed may report minor PC information would it make it ok? I think it's a rather interesting idea.
Once again, what makes this any different than other hidden spyware applications?
I second that!!! I got my $21,000 t-shirt and coffee mug from ITT in 1995,
You got a coffee mug?! Dang, I got ripped. Honestly though, I didn't learn jack at ITT. I was working a tech support job as a grunt and going to school. When I graduated I had 2 years job experience and a 2 year degree. Luckily I had an intelligent program chair that took the time to listen to students complaints and try to make the school better. It's also about learning on your own. You can't go to school and expect to be taught everything.
I'm now an IT Director at a tier two automotive manufacturer and doing pretty good. Still no thanks to ITT and its $30,000 price tag.
I will say one thing about ITT. We had some sweet LAN parties there...
Doom I??? Doom II??? I haven't heard of anyone playing either of those games in at least 5 years. My god, they had a Doom release on the Atari Jaguar!!! Think about that!
Have a little respect. Doom is still an awesome game. Go download the Doomsday Engine and try to remember how great of a game that it is. I would venture to say that most FPSers wouldn't even be around if it wasn't for Doom. It's still a fun multiplayer game as coop (which most games lack now) or DM, especially with improved network code.
I'm near Flint and my only option is cable... for 768/128 it's $60/mo.... and every once and a while my speeds get capped do to bandwidth usage... but at least I have access. I have heard that comcast has 3Mbps/? for less than what I pay. Enough to make a person angry.....
What the hell is "Google" or "Yahoo!" (Yes I know google means something but it sounds like it fell out of a gooses ass.)
The "Google" spelling is also used in "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams, in which one of Deep Thought's designers asks, "And are you not," said Fook, leaning anxiously foward, "a greater analyst than the Googleplex Star Thinker in the Seventh Galaxy of Light and Ingenuity which can calculate the trajectory of every single dust particle throughout a five-week Dangrabad Beta sand blizzard?"
I always use MrGrey if I can. This goes back to quake2 when I was invited to join the Reservior Dogs clan, and of course, no one was allowed to be MrBlack, and I surely didn't want to be MrPink. (come on, every adolescent teen joins a clan right?)
So now when I play RPG's I stick with the name I had used for so long.
Other names I use are Mithrandil (Hobbit/LOTR references) Liam (Just a good Irish name) Nimrod (Nimrod is Biblical, check out Genesis - he was a great hunter in the site of the Lord)
The scary thing about online names, is that the more you play games with people, the less they use your real name. I can't remember the last time someone called me by my real name at a LAN party. Most of the time they don't even use my real name when we aren't online or at a LAN party.
I try to stay up late to listen to Coast2Coast, but it usually doesnt work, if only there was a device to let me tivo it.
Coast to Coast AM is a very sweet radio program. I have been searching the internet for months, ever since Disney bought out the radio station in my area that broadcasted the program. Coast to Coast wants you to pay $6.95/mo for their streamlink. Maybe now someone will be posting files....
Be sure to check out Coast to Coast AM's web site to find a radio station near you. This is geek radio...
It appears that the automated system that the RIAA uses picked the term "Usher" and the extension ".mp3" on an FTP site...
Perhaps we should start something like what went on with e-mails when ECHELON went public. Host a bunch of text files with the names of popular songs with the.mp3 extension. Just wait for the false positives to show up in your mailbox...
written by the promising Weiss and not by that maiden aunt of yours who wouldn't let you have any more quarters.
Who needed quarters? Didn't you read the Jolly Roger Cookbook? Getting arcade games for a penny instead of a quarter. Or mabye I read that somewhere else. Flicking pennies up the coin return and getting credits. woohoo.....
Yes, because who in their right mind would need a system to operate their computer, I mean I read binary like Neo reads The Matrix. Don't you?
Sheesh, just because the guy has a degree he thinks he knows it all....though he must have something going for him if the UnaBomber had his sights on him. He had better hope his idea doesn't catch on or a few more people might have their sights on him too.
seems to me I should have more time and guts, like an anonymous coward, to make sure I don't spell things incorrectly and insult the being that you are.
I myself abhor pornography, but from what I have seen from society and the slashdot community they have grown grotesquely drawn to the drug that it is. Thus the comment.

Hey, Chicks Dig Unix.
Wore that shirt to my parents one time and my mom didn't exactly get it. Unix does not equal Eunuchs. Try explaining that to your mom.

Roomba's walk isn't guaranteed to cover an entire floor, but in practice it does a very good job.
So you only get the floor mostly clean. Seems like it could use some more work...
