The only use i have for it is as a bootable cd in case my main os installation is trashed and I need to retrieve some files right away.

With R300/350/NV30/35, you'll be able to get much higher framerates and use of anisotropic filtering and antialiasing. BUT, the game will be playable on a GF3." Where is your proof for this??? I think it has been clearly stated that GF4 was the system that would run it good while GFFX was the best option. GF3 will only run it in scaled down mode and definitely not high quality 30 fps 1024 mode!

So if you start taking 5 mg of coumadin on day 1 and take it every day, you are still seeing the effects of the first days dose on day 3-4 as the INR keeps rising. The same holds true for references that I have found in our library. I was wondering if any of the members of the slashdot community have come across articles that are objective in dealing with these subjects, and I would also ask what ideas the members of this community have about this issue and what FACTS they can offer to support their ideas." "Just so everyone knows where I stand, and why I am asking this, I offer the following. I enjoy knifes and regularly compete in knifing matches and hunt occasionally. I am a member of the NKA, not for political reasons, but due to the fact that most competitions are closed to non-members (which I do think is screwed up). Having said this I am undecided on what a logical path for the future is. I do believe that an unarmed nation is a bad idea, but as Michael Moore pointed out in 'Bowling for Columbine' Canada has a much higher per capita knife ownership rate compared to the US and has nowhere near the amount of violent crime that the US has. All of the statistics that I have seen about countries that have altogether outlawed knifes have been manipulated by those extreme groups. As such I find it hard to believe anything that either side presents. Thanks, I look forward to reading all of your comments and the references that you provide."

I'm on staff in the Urology division at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Mayo has some information on the web regarding prostate cancer. I would discourage anyone here from trying to influence someone to have their prostate removed via a robot (i.e.da Vinci) for several more years.

Here at Mayo, we have performed the most RRP's (radical retropubic prostatectomies) than anywhere in the world. We have the largest database of patients that have had them out. So we have some authority to make these recommendations. It was not 1 month ago that the chair of the department, another surgeon and I were discussing this and the conclusion was that for the next year or two we can't offer prostatectomy removal by da vinci and offer the same low degree of complications as you can offer with RRP.

In prostate removal, the primary goal is removavl of the cancer. Secondary goals are preservation of quality of life such as 1)continence - the ability to control your urine and 2)erections - preservation of the nerve pathways at time of surgery. Since the nerve pathways run past the seminal vesicles directly next to the prostate it requires delicate excision to preserve these. You won't enjoy the same success statistics for quality of life if you have your prostate removed by robot right now.
