I still have an M13, the model with the Trackpoint in the middle of the keyboard. When doing work that isn't on my laptop, that's the one I tend to prefer. Makes it easier to avoid moving your hands to use the mouse when necessary.
They could instead push satellite offices to battleground/red states and send liberal-minded folks to live there, take up residency, spread the gospel, all that stuff. Influence the vote that way. That would help with the housing problem in the bay area as well.
I vaguely recall that ocean air is fairly corrosive to electronics. Would they really use iMacs in a situation where they'd possibly have to be replaced frequently and possibly fail at sea? I realize the buyer will have lots of money, but it seems foolish.
Are you disappointed in the direct Apple has taken over the last few years with a closed ecosystem, mild lock-in, and suing competitors? Can you comment on what you might have done differently if you had been the CEO? Where do you see Apple focusing in the future?
If you could tell 1984 Woz something, what would it be?
The article doesn't say they're definitely implementing tiered pricing for everyone, they're trying it in a few markets.. In markets where tiered pricing is not being trialed, the caps are completely removed.
Roughly how much is a two hour movie in terms of MB/GB? Is it really a concern of someone using a Sony/Netflix service that watching a movie per day would put them over the limit?
I went to Memphis for Blues and the food, and decided to go over to Sun Studios (Stax Records is also in town and pretty interesting as well). They have a fair amount of memorabilia and they tell you a lot of interesting facts, though if you're a huge fan of that music, you probably already know those facts. If you're stuck in Memphis for 24hrs, it's not near Beale St, but it's close enough, and worth the effort.
I'd wondered before if something like the windbelt (http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/09/11/2257228) would work in a small stream or river. You would have the same constant flow over the belt, and I'd guess it would create the same oscillations (though probably not as much). I'm not an engineer, just curious.
I've been using Debian for quite some time, and to me the point of Debian is stability. I couldn't give a rat's ass when etch releases as long as it works the way Debian is meant to. Please don't force the release to meet a deadline. You'll only be hurting the users that depend on Debian to be a stable and functional system.
A FPS that I really enjoyed and thought was a pile of fun was ROTT(Rise of the Triad). who can forget the poor guy on his knees saying "No, please, please, don't shoot".
I see that the map is nice, but perhaps there should actually be two maps. One showing which distros are derived from which(in completeness, instead of putting DSL under compact distros, put it under Debian), but also another showing the intended purpose(and use the little dot to show derivation).
I'm very much confused why oracle would want to buy one anyways. They could just as easily take Debian or CentOS(or Gentoo I suppose), and include the patches to the kernel/etc they want to run their database. They would have a very specific market, but would be responsible for their own patches, etc.
Super Tecmo Bowl Phantasy Star(any on the genesis) Total Annihilation
The football game was just darn fun(I want to be the Chiefs, go JJ Birden!). Phantasy Star had great stories, and great game play. I have yet to find a better RTS than Total Annihilation.

Broken DNSSEC at the gov't.

Seems just as likely.
has always been Data.
And who is to blame for that? nVidia could release specs and work with the OSS community.
For what it's worth ...

Like that?

Was one of the mice named Jonathan Brisby?

How is this fragmentation? It's just more choice. Gnome2 is dead as far as gnome.org is concerned. Don't like it? Don't use it.

There have been other companies we thought we never see a decline. For a recent example, look at the problems that Sony is facing with the PS3.
If Apple forsakes their loyal customers, and abuses said loyalty, they will lose their biggest cheerleaders.

I haven't seen anything to suggest it, but will the PS3 play the UMD discs that work with the PSP?
