120 deg C? Let me ask, can any life survive without liquid water? Or perhaps this is so deep under the ocean that the pressure raises the boiling point significantly?
I heard about that other feature. It is going to revolutionize the future. Basically, instead of hooking up to the TV, the Revolution will hook up to this 3d display that goes on your head. I know you might say, "this has already been done for years," but get this, instead of being in color, it will be in red. It will be awesome.
I was about to read your post. I was about to give you the benefit of the doubt and say, "meh, maybe he has a valid linguistic reason for using only one paragraph." Then I realized you probably just can't use html tags.
Nice that you point out the current set of politicians, but forget to point out that the current set of young military retirees hasn't been in a real war.
Is the government asking for the rights to your invention if you win the prize money? No. So why should they pay all the development costs when conceivably you could sell the system to cover them, land a contract, etc., etc.. I don't see your point.
"True independent thinking and self aware will rarely be given a chance in the theater of battle," if that were the case then currently only computers would be allowed in battle and humans would be on the sidelines, being that humans exhibit true independent thinking and self awareness (sometimes).
Bah. What we all want is smash brothers DS, with wifi connectivity. You can already sorta get this experience with kaillera and an N64 emulator that supports it; it is actually somewhat smooth. You might think a fighting game is impossible online because of the latency, but if it can work through kaillera, which plays games that aren't even designed for netplay, then certainly it could work for the DS if it was built from the ground up for netplay. You sorta adapt the the latency after a while.
Two random things in IE that need to change soon: ctrl-l pops up a seperate window for you to enter a location, WHY? Ctrl-f does the same. Firefox handles both of these much more smoothly.
Whoa I can't believe someone listened to that tripe on TV and actually believed him and bought the book. And then when the book had no information besides a link to a subscription website to get the information, they actually went through with it, expecting the information. Wow. Just.. wow. I guess I could somewhat believe someone doing it (it is laughably a best seller on Amazon), just not someone here.
And the clause won't even help. You can just wrap webservices within another webservice that pipes out all of its output and pipes in all the input--except for requests for the source. So, it will be a big hassle for legitimate users and it will be easily bypassed by those who don't want to offer it, but still technically comply with the license.
You spend it because it is the optimal performance that you need and any perfomance equivalents that you can buy in a PC system will be built on older fab technology and thus produce more waste heat and cost more money in electricity. No to mention they will typically have loud, unreliable fans, etc.
I don't think so. I remember it going for 400+ on ebay up until christmas that first year, and my brother didn't get one until after christmas because of this.
Hmm, Gentoo doesn't seem to use the artwork if you build from source (and thus include the patches you talk about), but they do if you emerge the binary version. This is basically what I based my post on (I had experienced it also on freebsd a while back).
Side-note: does anyone know what topology skype uses for conference calls? I know they all have to make tradeoffs between bandwidth and latency and I was just wondering what it used.
Oh, I completely agree. But in a situation with 3rd party libraries it isn't reasonable to demand in C++ that all libraries you link in must use the safety mechanisms you would put in your own code. Granted at the same time you can use 3rd party C++ libraries in java so perhaps it is a moot point.
This isn't that true... when you get it on a distro it better not be custom packaged (or at least it better be a package that simply wraps around the Mozilla provided tarball) because if so you can't use the artwork. For whatever reason Mozilla wants trademark protection and thus can't let users get at the artwork from unofficial sources (how those distros can call the packages "Mozilla" and "Firefox" without getting into trouble I have no idea...).

Hah, you are forgetting about meta-meta moderation (and no, I am not making this up).
IBM did the same thing when it announced its linux strategy.
"That person never broke a crime, just went to protests and meetings."
What... does... that... mean?

We are a long way from manufacturing things on mars. So, stuff that we manufacture here and then use there is still covered.

To get the tarball from Sun you have to do all that registration crap, etc.. Worthless.

I believe the reknowned scientist Kevin Trudeau has already found the cure for diabetes (along with cancer, and every other affliction ever).
Nope, for the scale we are talking about maggots are too big. Ditto beetles. Miniature buzzards might work quite well.
This statement (the one I'm making, not yours) is false.
