Hey "Overly Critical Guy," do you even watch the movies on which your rants are based? Remember in the Matrix 2 when Neo was suddenly in the mountains? Was that part of one massive urban landscape?
No. Having the script is equivalent to seing the strawberry. Seeing that neo can disable machines in the real world makes one think the real world was just another matrix (equivalent to guessing that indeed the strawberry probaly was red).
Let me know this: does saying something about someone's use of "purport to" sound more like "personally attack[ing]" someone or does calling someone a "self-deifying fool on Slashdot" sound more like a personal attack? How about calling me a glutton? Then, you bring up Slashdot in the post as though thats a bad thing; You're posting on Slashdot too. I like how you make most of these attacks after going on a rant for a paragraph about my making personal attacks. Classic.
The page I linked to and the guy's previous rant on the same subject sum up my thoughts completely. He defeats soundly every argument you brought up.
Now, I don't know if Maddox handles the reincarnation argument so I'll have to take it on. Let me do so by presenting another argument. What if you only eat vegetables your whole like and you reincarnate as a giraffe!!! OH NO!!!
Sounds pretty fucking stupid doesn't it? So did your argument.
Don't purport to tell anyone else what to do? I'm pretending to tell someone else what to do? What does that even mean? Remove "purport to" from your sentence and you begin to make a little sense. A little. Of course I'm gonna tell people what to do. Thats what you were doing with your own post and thats what we as humans do. I'll agree that this guy does a much better job of it than me, but I won't pretend that eating vegetables is somehow less bad than eating cows. If you believe its murder to kill animals where do you draw the line? I draw it at humans. Veggy people may draw it at bacteria but I'm here to (purport to? nope doesn't work in this case either) tell them they are wrong, the line is at humans, except in the case of a plane crash in the mountains or a ship lost at sea, then the line is drawn by drawing straws.
"Unless you're a vegetarian" should be changed to "unless you eat only vegetables that are hand grown", because mechanized growing of crops kills millions of field rats each year. Better watch out for the bacteria on the vegetables too, wouldn't want to kill it or even worse, hurt its feelings.
they get your IP. at&t also functions as an isp. if you are one of their customers they could line up your IP at x time with Tom Smith, (206) 555 -1486, tsmith@att.com.
Cause the movie is gonna suck and the word needs to get out. Consider this: why do a simultaneous release unless you don't want people talking to each other about how shitty it is, don't go see it, etc. They want a huge opening day because as they experienced in the most recent matrix, thats the only chance the movie will get. They made very little money other than the first weekend with the most recent matrix. People saw it, realized it sucked, and didn't go see it again. With the first matrix a few people saw it, realized it was good, came back to see it the next weekend, bringing friends who hadn't seen it before. Then they did the same, etc. etc.
if everyone who gave a journalist leads and tips could later be identified by supoenas, there wouldn't be very much whistle blowing, etc. now would there? Fucking watergate would never have been exposed. Don't just isolate this to "crackers"
yeah, if it travelled in a straight line.. its gonna be in orbits that keep expanding/contracting, etc. etc. etc. That saidm average velocity may be 22MPH towards the moon, but thats completely different than speed
Really? Overloards is not a rearrangement, it adds an a that isn't in overlords. Oh yeah, cut that joke the fuck out you peice of shit and all you others.
Why should you not do business with Amazon? The government basically told them they could have a monopoly on an idea anyone who ever sat at a computer and bought something has had. They said "Ok." So would you. Perhaps the entity you should not be doing business with is the government (i.e., get the fuck out). Make your protest against the government; when a preacher gives half a church's money to a prostitute, the congregation isn't pissed at the prostitute.
"Since Amazon is (due to malfeasance by a court clerk in the mid 1850's) a legal person, I can blame Amazon for Amazon's actions."
Then later we have: "Just because it's not illegal doesn't mean it's right."
So, you can only blame amazon because they are legally considered a person, not because you ethically consider them a person, and yet you try and make a whole argument based on law != morals. Now, I'm the type point out hypocrisy. Wait. I guess I am.
bah, if you boycott amazon you don't stop the problem at all. the problem is the legal system which allows and encourages amazon to do the things they do, not amazon itself. blame your representatives for fucking up the patent office, but don't blame a for-profit company for getting every patent the patent office will grant.
I said areas of high population density. areas. I'm not talking about luxemburg, I'm talking canada and luxemburg. Canada has almost no rural population. Most of its population is therefore in concentrated areas.
Shut the fuck up. The media portrays it as though fuel cells run on water. Or at least as though fuel cells must be an "alternative energy source." The media is always right. Quit bringing your science here; it's not wanted.
"Besides, it's not an assumption of guilt any more than 'health care' is an assumption of injury, or car insurance is an assumption of ineptitude (or bad luck)." Bullshit. Healthcare covers things that are out of your control, getting sick etc. You can easily choose to never copy any music. People who choose this don't get the benefits, contrary to "everyone pays, everyone gets the benefits." Having car insurance doesn't imply that you can wreck your car on purpose and get a new car, if it did, you could make this comparison night and day; It doesn't.

Jesus, people don't get modded down for saying "shit." Your comment is painful to read. It is ok to use the word "shit." Take advantage.

it also provides me with tons of quality tv paid for by cingular's (these used to be yours) advertising dollars

How much did you get paid to write that post? I guess your (and my) time is worth $0.00.
Really? Overloards is not a rearrangement, it adds an a that isn't in overlords. Oh yeah, cut that joke the fuck out you peice of shit and all you others.
Not true, its reverse polish, not un-polish. What if what makes up polishness is the metaphysical equivalent of a palindrome?
I love the notion that its morally wrong to "[defend] a stupid patent". I also like the way you didn't respond to any of the real points I made.

I'm glad I'm not a subscriber right now cause if you payed to have the advertisements removed I don't think it would have caught this one.

Also, he has written other books. Snowcrash has a sex scene.

These countries have concentrated areas of high population density.
