Here's my question - I own a 2.4Ghz Seimens wireless phone and whenever I use that it cancels out my computer's wireless access! Does anyone know if this hack will affect this behavior (worse or better)? I would try it myself, but I use my iBook's Airport card for wireless access and can't run the program they use from my Mac, which would mean getting a PC wireless card to perform the hack.
So, according to that quote, does that mean if it is mandatory to have the chip in order to buy something and you don't have one, you could just say your name is Satan and get service?
Didn't Nirvana address the whole solution to the glut of 80's bad music by putting out music of substance. What the world needs now is another Curt Cobain to smack the youg'ns with some good taste. Underground music was bigger in the mid-nineties than its ever been in America because of talented artists breaking throught the mainstream crap and openning the doors for the true talents. We need less copycat acts and more originals.
"...and even i know that there is NEVER a reason to call something like this terrorism unless there was an intent to harm someone, this is nothing more than vandilism..."
And vandalism doesn't hurt people??? You really think they had no intent to harm anyone? They obviously wanted to disrupt someones life because they did release it!! Listen, most of the people who run websites don't have their jobs just to protect themselves from "vandalists". As anyone who supports a network knows, the hours put into protecting/fixing virus and worm related issues are overtime ones that you rarely get paid proper overtime for. As I stated before, these matters need to be taken seriously.
I guess you think the architects should have been held accountable for the twin towers not withstanding a plane hitting them. I hate M$'s practices as much as the next guy, but you can't hold them responsible when someone else knowingly takes advantage of a problem that they did address in hotfixes and patches! Sure it proved that there are still a lot of ignorant people out there who spread these worms, but the people who write them and send them out into the population are no better than the people stuffing Anthrax into envelopes and exploiting the U.S. postal service. These kids are electronic terrorists and we should take this offense seriously.
How the hell does rjamestalylor who posted virtually the same exact post one minute later than you get a score of 2 Funny, when you only got a 1 Off Topic???????(I guess you should have linked to a slashdot article instead of just mentioning it!!)

you have way too much time on your hand, probably because "Many posters on slashdot describe themselves as nerds or geeks, societal outcasts. Posting to slashdot is their only true sense of community, and they view karma as a measure of popularity or status." get a life.
"...most manufacturers are not willing to get on Intel's bad side by supporting a controversial (or as Intel would say, illegally produced) chipset that offers no real advantages over the aforementioned two"
This just shows that in tough times, the rich get richer and strip the balls out of the companies that support them. I miss the late 90's.
...and the pursuit to pad their own wallets - not the artists'. My impression is that the RIAA is a fraternity of lawyers who couldn't make it in the real world so they pick on kids who support the popular music industry! They really don't affect anyone with musical taste anyway 'cause when was the last time you saw a lawyer at a Superchunk show???
I pay my ISP $40 a month already and am not willing to pay a fee on top of that. There have been so many ways to make money off of the internet since it became commercialized, but this by far is the most rediculous. Can you imagine the amount of bogus links on pages that open up a hundred windows, crash your computer and steal a $1 doing it!
Developer boxes should be on their own segment with absolutely no access to the rest of the network. The should have full license to do whatever, but they should not call the company help desk for support of their machines! They need to hire their own support consultants to fix their messes out of their own budgets. This shouldn't be so bad since a good amount of developers know their stuff when it comes to supporting their machines, but the ones who think they know are a help desk's nightmare! I spent more time on a select few developer's laptops at one company then every other user combined because they had to have the latest of every piece of software and refused to downgrade when Photoshop 6 would cause them to lose network connections. They wouldn't accept my answer and every day I had to entertain their woes until Adobe released a patch. I'm not a developer and I can't fix the source code to a retail program, but I can test it for compatablity and deem it not ready for production. There are no developers out there who want to work on last year's program (even if its better)! the point is they should be on their own virtual island - for business uses like email they should have a seperate locked down box that participates with the rest of the company's network.
Your right - during these slow times it seems that a lot of the fringe developments of major companies are going fast - I really like the games that came with my Intel PC Camera - there's nothing like dancing around your PC like an idiot trying knock a virtual basketball into a net via your moving image.
Aparently you have never seen XP because its not in the same place as other versions of Windows. Please don't resort to calling me a wanker unless you have substantial proof that I wank.
Since Microsoft seems to copy most of the Mac's design features and innovations(notice where the recycle bin is on XP for a recent one) soon after Apple introduces it, does this pave the way further for Micro$oft embracing open standards or even open source?
CNN just ran a report on the bottom of the TV stating that the creators of Sesame Street are outraged at the image of bert on protester's signs. This is so funny!
What about the dial tone before you dial? And then the sound of the ring after you finish ? Will different combinations free us from paying royalties? Doh... (_8^(o)
Macslash has a thread going about the release and a lot of developers with Betas are reporting some significant improvements in speed - most notibly the time to load apps in native and classic modes.
If you stick around through the credits to catch a glimpse of Alannis Morrisette, check out the diclaimer right after the "No animals were harmed..." one to see how Smith addresses the the accusatioins he's been recieving from GLAAD that the film is homophobic - its the little things that make his movies great.
...of all of the artists that are involved. I can't accept that people are that stupid. I want to meet with these so called artists and dissect their brains to find the moron lobe! How can an independant artist try to kill the closest thing they will ever have to major worldwide distribution without the stranglehold of a major label? These people should be singled out and made an example of. I am so enraged by this and I can't fathom anyone viewing this case as legitimate. Can we sue Apple for putting CD/RWs in their iBooks that can be used to make cd's of the music that came in the iTunes audio sampler?
As a company under fire for being anti-competitive and proven to be a monopoly, its amazing how they can pull moves such as disabling java by default, removing netscape plugin capability, and disabling Quicktime support in its latest browser upgrade.

somehow I doubt that, unless your the CIO of Morgan Stanley!
Since I have to work today - I'll be in the MTV studio all day. I guess its not a bad deal, really.

You know that I can't think of one good reason to view MSN instead of Yahoo or Excite anyway. Its like a manditory self inflicted ban on themselves.

I wonder if we'll ever get to try out new Mach Kernels like linux users get to try new kernels. That would be nicey nice.
