  1. Forever unemployed? on Unemployed? How Long Until You Find That Next Job · · Score: 1

I just graduated carnegie mellon for computer science. I haven't even seen an interview.

  2. LOL its not the coder's fault? on Calling Software Reliability Into Question · · Score: 1

Its the user's fault because he wants a flashy product?

I thought it was the coders fault for putting backdoors in.

  4. Monty Python on How Would You Move Mount Fuji? · · Score: 1

    The interview skit rules :)

Almost as much as the dad who is a theatrical performer talking down on his kid for being a coal miner.

  5. Hahah, that comic still cracks me up on Penny Arcade vs. American Greetings · · Score: 1

Penny Arcade guys come up with some funny shit. Us gamers are united, even if we don't talk directly to each other... We all got the same clue about games. The one most corporations is missing.

  6. Computers support terrorism on Open Source Enables Terrorist States · · Score: 1

Computers are confusing to some people. Anything people don't understand can be used for terrorism.

  9. I had a monopolistic vortex idea on Palm Memory Maximum Increased · · Score: 1

Monopolistic vorticies are ideas that when turned on, cause people to need your product in such a way that everyone needs it, and at the same time competitors can not be born.

This particular idea was infared scheduling.

You know how you have headaches scheduling?

Well simply enter in your free time, with a weight, and beam all the PDAs data between each other, and you have a few options for meeting times.

It saves time scheduling, but removes the "I'm more important than you factor", unless you want to add it in, or let the 'important guy' dictate which of the proposed times to use.

Everyone will need a PDA so meetings go faster. People on the road will need this PDA, like a nerd needs magic cards. Schedule a buisness meeting in 10 seconds on a conferance trip? Invaluable. If you don't have a PDA, you're gonna likely have the meeting time dictated to you, and not look cool.

  10. I had an idea for DARPA: HellaCycle on DARPA Grant Cancelled for OpenBSD and U-Penn? · · Score: 1

Basically it combines their jetpack with a motorcyle.

All you do is picture the jetpack's turbines as the motorcyle wheel.

    Rotate the seat 90 degrees.

Then you have a motorcyle/jetpack. Guaranteed these will be made some day.

  14. Look past the persistant game engine. on Carmack On Doom III And The Evolution Of Graphics · · Score: 1

Yah, you start with a 3d engine, give it some physics rules, and you can make several different types of games using it.

What else is great is that you can use it as a mathmatical space for generic modeling systems... As the technology increases, the modeling potential does too. Artificial intelligence is one technology that requires a 3d imagination space. Thats why I'm doing some independent video game programming at the moment. It sucks dedicating an unpaid year or two of your life after college, and I only have 100 to 1 odds of beating the corporation... But my alternative is sleeping and laying around the house. Thank you Bush for doing nothing about the economy.

  15. Wealth risk? on Nanotechnology: Nanoscale Particles A Health Hazard? · · Score: 1

Much like the appeal of Seti at home was searching for AI... People now have a choice which distributed net they want to support.

Its a system, similar to voting, that will have every distributed net in the future trying to please.

I forsee distributed nets of the future attempting to produce results, in order to keep people interested and donating their computer cycles.

Its an interesting system, that works a bit like deomocracy.
