This could be government psyops. Recent leaks have shows state sponsored attacks are capable of leaving false fingerprints behind. If state sponsored attackers were able to compromise anonymous, even briefly, they could release garbage like this to attack the organizations overall credibility. On top of that anonymous would then have to choose to ignore, claim they themselves were compromised or refute. Difficult position to be in. The other option for state level attackers is to compromise all key members in such that they are forced to veer off course to damage credibility behind held by threats against life and limb. I've always wondered if folks like Alex Jones were psyops. Put enough nuggets in to pique interest and remain somewhat plausible but then act crazed most of the time to further discredit. Its a situation where you could be revealing the actual truth through a channel like that and discredit it because of the delivery mechanism.
Information these days is totally warped. How do you even know google/facebook/etc are even letting you see what everyone else is seeing? You are being served up your own version of reality based on preferences.
Its going to get incredibly hard to follow the truth in the coming years. I already suspect most information is being cleansed and customized by the big boys and "underground" areas are riddled with enough moonbats to keep them from becoming trusted sources.
The "resistance" needs a ton of discipline not present today to expose the engineering of information going on right now. Underground groups need to protect themselves from key-man issues and master password issues and implement dead-mans-switches (DMS) - sometimes the most damning information needs to be withheld and put into a DMS to allow the group to keep operating.
I know a few folks from early google. They are not fond of this Marissa Mayer character. She was in the first 20 or so hires and the general consensus was that if she wasn't there google would still be google - her being there or not would have had no impact on outcome. They also indicated she was a land grabber. This would mean that her saying she designed gmail means she attended a few meetings about it. They also indicated that they would basically fence her - they would create the illusion she mattered to keep her at bay (Yes, Marissa. Sure, good idea Marissa. Oh, we'll get right on that Marissa).
I did not like her for one specific thing, the idea that she could create a live-in office with day care at work for her progeny but the rank and file had to work in person in the most expensive real-estate area in the world with bad traffic. Ultimately yahoo japan and yahoo's investments were worth something. Everything she did at yahoo-central was more or less zero in the end. Amazing Verizon paid for it.
I've been on gab.ai, 4chan, 8ch and voat.co. You really should research this yourself and ask yourself why there is a boatload of evidence and those bringing it to light are being ddosed. Why is reddit admitting to very dishonest practices and shutting down subreddits for TOS violations that didn't occur or if they did were getting policed by mods.

Apple should buy one. They are in the business for overcharging for everything. Two benefits - they get to overcharge if they are carrier (like every other one) and they can make all the bandwidth use for all apple made applications free. Look at MVNO Google-Fi. They could potentially go quad-sim in the USA. (SIMs now are apparently capable of carrying more than one network).

I used to talk about how bad this Mayer was before she took the helm and people poo-pooed me. I turned out I was 100% correct about this woman being a know-nothing fraud. I've been stranded by an Uber driver before he got there. I dont even know the recourse should be. I was stranded and had to wait another 20 minutes for another Uber in inclement weather. Uber is getting more anti-rider and from what I hear from drivers they are fairly anti-driver AND they are trying to remove the driver in favor of self-driving computers.
Yeah, or we should look at the labor participation rate. Its the worst its been in 40 ish years. This is the percentage of population working. Some try to spin it as people are living longer - but not nearly this much longer for this problem. Also this ends up counting disaffected unemployed. The other issue is that when coming up with a "U" number part timers that want to be full time should count for 1/2 an unemployed person.
New regulations are causing small companies to hire only part timers to get around the regs. They also provide a small business incentive to keep the business under I believe 50 employees. Its a huge crunch and leads to further outsourcing and using contractors.
The reality is we have inflation (for all things required to live, rent, food, tuition, health care, medicine, etc) plus stagnant salaries / wages plus a ton of under-employed but a huge shift from knowledge worker job growth to service job growth which often does not produce a livable wage and is subject to automation and robotics.
We are in a horrific staglfationary crapstorm and its much worse than people thing. People with jobs think its normal. In reality they are very lucky until AI and robotics kicks in more and more over time.
Opening the borders (whether you think its right or wrong) will have consequences to make these numbers get worse over time especially with unfunded liabilities.
I just looked at her work in images.google. Do not want. They are not really that pleasing to look at. I like the Roman/Greek and large medieval/renaissance buildings - golden ratio, "perfect" aesthetics. These Zaha works are just ugly and trying to be different and lead to higher cost, hard to maintain with that comes leaks and I don't think they are aesthetically pleasing.
I might be one port but things dont work right. I know, I have the entire bevy of these connectors, both USB and Video, and USB speed and behavior has been terrible since 3.0. Speed isnt right, amps isnt right. You can look on Amazon reviews on cables - massive complaints. There is a Google engineer "Benson Leung" that reviews cables as a hobby and checks them to see if they violate USB spec. Even with Benson approved cables the ports often do not charge correctly. Sometimes its 1A even on a 2A port. Sometimes its 2A. Its almost never does the 100 watts / 20 volts / 5A - unless you buy a charger. And type-c chargers are bloody expensive and hard to find. You need a Benson approved one and test it to see if it really rapid charges.
So yes, while type C might be closer to the ideal its a stupid joke how much they cost and how little benefit they provide over a regular stinky 2.0 micro cable these days.
So do I want more unversiality like 8P8C / "RJ45" - hell yes. Id rather wait a bit longer for 10GBASET to become practical. But wait, since there are literally TEN 10GbE standards - that would be 10 different transceivers that can be 10GbE - making fixed port SFP+ and 10GBASET restrictive and SFP+ twinax expensive and SFP+ other types of transceivers very expensive...
You know how much the cables and transceivers cost in a DC? I've seen figures in the 30% range.
You know much more expensive 10GbE because of the number of lunatic standards we had and how much cabling cost?
You see the advantage of CAT5e/CAT6 was it was useful for a VERY, very long time - since 1991. That reduces waste and cost and keeps wiring in the walls good. It was more universal then power adapters, other anything today. It was and is the entire world standard, along now with WiFi - ABGN - I've never had an issue connecting with WiFi or wired ethernet. Ever.
But the diarrhea mess of Apple and phone cables I keep in a backpack at all times. Joke. Custom power cables for laptops. a thunderbolt Ethernet, a DVII, a DVID, a display port, HDMI, mini-displayport, a VGA, type C-C, type A-C, a rapid charger, lightning-cable - all this trash being lugged around. But there is one thing I have one of. Ethernet and the wifi (wherever that is buried.within the laptop). I have a gaggle of dongles and a gaggle of USB cables and chargers because these standards suck horribly.
USB is horrible. Every display port since VGA has been horrible Pick a standard and STOP.
These are the current USB: USB 3.0 type C, USB 3.1 Type C, USB type A, USB 3.0 Type A, USB 2.0 Micro, USB 3.0 MicroB 10-pin, USB 2.0 mini-B 5 pin, USB 2.0 type B, Apple lightning
These are the current video cables: HDMI, HDMI micro, HDMI mini, DVI dual, DVI-D single, DVI-I dual, DVI-I single, Display Port, Mini-Display Port, VGA (d-sub 15 , PC-RGB),, Thunderbolt, 3-wire component, 5 wire componen video, composite video, s-video, 13w3, 5 BNC RGB.... Cant think of more.
This rubbish has to stop. I have probably 50 cables in various card and places where computers and phones live to deal with this horrible mess.
You know how much waste this creates having to chuck cables all the time or keep piles of old ones around to deal with the fact my phones,DSLRs, camcorders currently have micro, mini and type-c all at the same time.
This is stupid, wasteful and out of control. And now with Type C there is horrible problems with getting rapid charging even from 2A chargers with certified cables (the expensive ones).
Please, for Pete's sake, please dont muck with ethernet or do it exactly one more time at most. Its sickening to think of the billions of miles of CAT5e and CAT6, even some CAT3, that would be obsoleted if the 8P8C plug was EVER changed.
As monopolies and collective oligarchies continue to form and gain power most of the worlds population is no longer necessary for production so the illusion (just as in the matrix) of struggle has to be there to keep the masses believing their efforts and lives matter. War or the brink of war is usually the most effective way to keep the masses engaged in productivity tasks.
The problem was how to keep the wheels of industry turning without increasing the real wealth of the world. Goods must be produced, but they need not be distributed. And in practice the only way of achieving this was by continuous warfare.
War, it will be seen, accomplishes the necessary destruction, but accomplishes it in a psychologically acceptable way. In principle it would be quite simple to waste the surplus labour of the world by building temples and pyramids, by digging holes and filling them up again, or even by producing vast quantities of goods and then setting fire to them. But this would provide only the economic and not the emotional basis for a hierarchical society. What is concerned here is not the morale of masses, whose attitude is unimportant so long as they are kept steadily at work, but the morale of the Party itself. Even the humblest Party member is expected to be competent, industrious, and even intelligent within narrow limits, but it is also necessary that he should be a credulous and ignorant fanatic whose prevailing moods are fear, hatred, adulation, and orgiastic triumph. In other words it is necessary that he should have the mentality appropriate to a state of war. It does not matter whether the war is actually happening, and, since no decisive victory is possible, it does not matter whether the war is going well or badly. All that is needed is that a state of war should exist. The splitting of the intelligence which the Party requires of its members, and which is more easily achieved in an atmosphere of war, is now almost universal, but the higher up the ranks one goes, the more marked it becomes. It is precisely in the Inner Party that war hysteria and hatred of the enemy are strongest. In his capacity as an administrator, it is often necessary for a member of the Inner Party to know that this or that item of war news is untruthful, and he may often be aware that the entire war is spurious and is either not happening or is being waged for purposes quite other than the declared ones: but such knowledge is easily neutralized by the technique of doublethink. Meanwhile no Inner Party member wavers for an instant in his mystical belief that the war is real, and that it is bound to end victoriously, with Oceania the undisputed master of the entire world. All members of the Inner Party believe in this coming conquest as an article of faith. It is to be achieved either by gradually acquiring more and more territory and so building up an overwhelming preponderance of power, or by the discovery of some new and unanswerable weapon. The search for new weapons continues unceasingly, and is one of the very few remaining activities in which the inventive or speculative type of mind can find any outlet. In Oceania at the present day, Science, in the old sense, has almost ceased to exist. In Newspeak there is no word for " Science ". The empirical method of thought, on which all the scientific achievements of the past were founded, is opposed to the most fundamental principles of Ingsoc. And even technological progress only happens when its products can in some way be used for the diminution of human liberty. In all the useful arts the world is either standing still or going backwards. The fields are cultivated with horse-ploughs while books are written by machinery. But in matters of vital importance - meaning, in effect, war and police espionage - the empirical approach is still encouraged, or at least tolerated. - George Orwell, 1984

Yes. So they fire US workers summarily. Then they outsource to a company which has taken 275,000 US-based jobs in the mid-1980s to having a tiny footprint in the US and ever outsourcing more and more jobs out of country. IBM is gutting US workers. The sad thing is nobody gets an offer for a pay cut to keep the jobs. If its about money and competition at least offer those being summarily shot a way out. This kind of behavior is really discouraging. I also must say that all the free trade and bank deregulation has lead to a severe decrease in standard of living here.
Mapping this out will take a lot of time. You'll need a "life simulator" to see what every codon does. Also you would need an even more immense "life simulator" to take into account what all the side effects of the various methylation groups are. Sure, its possible to figure this out, but the article is not good at all - indicating there is a lot of "junk" in the genome is useless. Indicating certain sequences are knockouts and important is hardly a new concept. Now find the gene that causes autism if its truly a genetic cause. We cant even tell if complex disorders of the brain are environmental or genetic at this point . Tooling around with red hair and blue eyes is so basic vs being able to speak or what makes someone "smart" or learn fast.
And now the ultimate field of medicine - antisense RNA, which will likely remain the cures of the future for a long, long time given our early-stage understanding on how genetics actually work. Do make antisense work - which is to be able to provide an artificial in-cell immune system, you need to know the pathology, then know what proteins and mRNA are the result of the disease, then insert the antisense RNA into the cell to get the result you are looking for. If you think we are able to change complex genes or cure any genetic disease or take a chimp DNA and fix it so it could be super smart and able to speak we are a long, long, loooong ways off from that.
Its called epigenetics and three dimension conformation and methylation groups.
Gene expression relies on both methylation, epigenetics (inheritable - this is big as experience and environment can create gene expression changes that are passed to offspring) and three dimensional configuration of "useless genes" have an effect on gene expression.
Your notion of double helix and guanine tyrosine adensosine cytosine and uracil for thymine in RNA being simple "code" is absurd, disproved and ridiculous.
Removal of ""useless"" codons WILL change gene expression and cause huge problems which are not able to be predicted.
I noticed that most of the domain specific jargon words I'm using aren't showing up as known in Chrome so the world is not, according to the bulk data spell correction, even thinking about this issue of methylation, epigenetics and DNA codons and gene expression correctly.
I know some folks who currently work at and worked at IBM. It is not "B". It is taking people who put a lot of time in and are very good at their job and not even giving them the opportunity to lose some salary to keep their jobs. I heard a story from one friend who was at IBM where they were excited to be working with a new team to support them in India but then suddenly being laid off with the Indian team taking over their jobs. So its a train-and-dump scheme a lot of the time.
What IBM isn't realizing is that a lot of these folks will be relearning the know how without the benefit of those who were knifed in the back and also that in other cultures being an engineer for 10-20+ years is not the goal, they _all_ want to be in management and gain "rank" rather than experience and technical know how.
Invariably you get a bunch of freshers with no real experience being lead by the bureaucrats. Its really unfortunate to see very smart very talented people be summarily fired after training what are supposed to be supporting teams and engineers. I also bothers me they are not given the opportunity to meet new terms to save their jobs.
What is not realized is in other cultures the competitors often build up a presence near to or sometimes next door to a place like IBM and poach engineers and intellectual property. And given IBM is all about decent (not trollish) intellectual property this is not a long term good strategy to be using scabs to replace true blue engineers.
You can also read some stuff here about the former IBM union http://www.endicottalliance.or... - they were not a strong or unreasonable union but you can get a feel for how many good long term employees are facing the firing squad.
In 1985 IBM had 230,000 employees mostly in the USA. Now its 71,000 in the US or so - and who knows where everyone else is employed, not here.
These cretins fly on planes all the time on autopilot. This trash of people being against self driving is just an emotional reaction by people who have no control over their lives and want to pretend they have a "vote" or a horse in the self driving race.
Efficiency and safety will go up by a LOT with automation of driving. Resistance is more or less luddite-ism. For me, having 3-kids being able to be self driven for MORE activities is way better than having to split work and kids and pick winners and losers based on commute times.

These are the current USB:
USB 3.0 type C, USB 3.1 Type C, USB type A, USB 3.0 Type A, USB 2.0 Micro, USB 3.0 MicroB 10-pin, USB 2.0 mini-B 5 pin, USB 2.0 type B, Apple lightning
These are the current video cables:
HDMI, HDMI micro, HDMI mini, DVI dual, DVI-D single, DVI-I dual, DVI-I single, Display Port, Mini-Display Port, VGA (d-sub 15 , PC-RGB),, Thunderbolt, 3-wire component, 5 wire componen video, composite video, s-video, 13w3, 5 BNC RGB....

NO.
