I appreciate your reply, although I think you are off base. Yes, we all are sinners (Rom 3:23). I am a sinner and you are a sinner. But we are saved from God's wrath because of our acceptance of the substitutionary death of Christ. He has covered our sin and we are saved! It is precious news.
I think where you go off base on your assertion of "You are making a mistake in your judgment. A mistake altogether; people who follow Jesus do not judge, that's what Jesus will do when he returns."
People who follow Jesus do judge. Jesus judged. Paul judged. Peter judged. John judged. Now, what I mean by "judged" may seem harsh, but it is reality. They rebuked others of the faith and outside of the faith. They preached repentance to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. And we continue that heritage. Our calling as followers of Christ is to follow his example and his commands. We are to teach others. We are to rebuke, exhort, etc.
Just in case you think I don't read my bible, here are a few texts to help us:
Mark 8:33--But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man."
Christ rebuked Peter. He did not try to explain to Peter that he just did not understand that he was a sinner, will never understand, but rather rebuked him to repent of his sin and set his mind on things of the Lord.
Luke 3:18-20--So with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people. But Herod the tetrarch, who had been reproved by him for Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the evil things that Herod had done, added this to them all, that he locked up John in prison.
Again, John the Baptist did not try to explain all the mechanics to Herod. He was a sinner and was rebuked--and we know what happened to John because of his boldness in preaching. Yes, Herod did not know right from wrong, but would you have said your same rebuke that you gave to me to John the Baptist? In fact, speaking of rebuke, didn't you judge me an rebuke me? But you said we are not to do that to others. Hmm.
1 Tim. 4:2--preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
Yes! Be ready! To pastors Paul commands that we always be ready to tell others of Christ. Be ready to reprove others! Be ready to rebuke their sin! But do it in love, with patience while teaching what the good news is.
1 Tim 3:16All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness
Yes, the precious Bible is breathed out by God. Because it is inspired, it is profitable for teaching others. It is good for correcting others. It is good for training people how to be righetous!
James 5:19-20--My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
We are to bring wandering souls back to the faith. The person I was talking to may have never heard the gospel, or what sounds more likely, flatly rejected Christ. But either way we are to correct those people and tell them how full of joy their lives can be when they are with Christ!
1 Titus 1:9He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
As Paul says, Elders must be able to instruct sound doctrine and be able to rebuke those who contradict it. He must rebuke heretics. He must rebuke the world's philosophies and show them Christ. He must, for the Lord has told us so.
Paul goes on to say in Titus 1:13"One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said,
You are a sinner in need of repentance away from your vile wrechedness. Read your post, and you know what you wrote is wrong. Deep down, you know you are wrong and are living in sin. Pray to Christ that your sin may be forgiven, because your soul is in great danger.
Read the Bible. Study it. I'm sure you haven't when you talk such nonsense. You should be ashamed of yourself, and repent, and turn to Christ for hope.
Uhh. At the end of the bible Jesus dies? Dude, Jesus dies for like 2 chapters in the gospels, and those are the four first books. At the end of the bible (that would be Revelation), Jesus comes back to gather His people and in judgement to take out those who have blasphemed Him. If you find that boring for some miraclous reason, just wait until it happens. But hopefully by then you'll have repented, which I would highly recommened because you seem to be in danger of hellfire. Recognize your sin, turn to Christ, and cherish Him above all other things in life. If you don't desire to, then pray that He would give you clarity in the matter. It's the most important thing to recognize here on earth, because if you miss that then you've missed the entire reason we are on this earth.
What's funny is the MSN's search engine is just as bad (okay, okay, it's worse). If you do a simple search on "flowers" as they suggest on MSN, eleven of the first page results are shopping links.
Those games rock (FF3 and Chronotrigger). I still play them today on my SNES emulator, and loved them when I was a kid. The story lines are well thought out, and the multiple endings for Chronotrigger was a great idea to get people to keep playing. In fact, I think it's about time I fired SNES9x up again:)
Square may have made alot of mistakes, but what company doesn't? Overall, I think they've done a pretty good job over the years.
While the majority of Linux customers probably would not participate in a SCO licensing program, Haff predicted some companies might be willing to pay SCO for the security of knowing they would not be sued.
What freaking idiots. They are simply selling fake insurance. Think about it. "We may or not have code in linux, but if we do, you might be sued by us. So pay us a little money now to avoid the possibility of paying more later." It's almost blackmail. It's disgusting.
And no, email clients by browser makers are not worth a d*** so they're not an option either.
I use Mozilla Mail for my IMAP inbox needs. It does everything I want and more. Spell check, spam filtering, easy folder, easy searching, color labeling, etc etc. I love it for business and personal use, and it's open all day for both uses.
Point is, maybe you should give them another chance, because it doesn't sound like you've used it in a while.
You've never heard of overture? They used to be GoTo.com, but they changed their name to Overture a while back. They are not really a search engine--they are more of a pay-per-click advertising technology that is integrated with pretty much every search engine except Google.
What are they hoping to get out of Overture? More than 1.63 billion;)...and they probably will, considering how high some of those PPC bids are. Last time I checked, web hosting was like $3-$5 dollars a click! It's ridiclous, but you have to do some of that if you are a small company that doesn't have your site at the top 10 or even 20, which is pretty hard to do on your own.
Everyone used to use Yahoo. It was a verb, like many people use Google. "Do you Yahoo?" everyone said.
But now the big mama has had her throne taken by another, and is hotly pursuing the rival. Yahoo just recently bought up Inktomi (which will be very interesting to see what happens if they dump Google's web search and integrate Inktomi... which is probably bound to happen soon).. and now they just ate up Overture for PPC.
Yep. She's mad. But can she take back her place in the kingdom? I doubt it.
Jonathan Edwards is considered one of America's top metaphysicans/theologians and is considered to be a genius in practically every intellectual circle. What is of note is that he had an amazing marriage to Sarah Edwards and she bore him 11 children. He was also a president of Princeton, and a leader of the first great awakening in America.
Sure, that's all fun and games, but how long before someone simply figures out how to change the high score on their magnetic cards? Without actually storing it on the machine, and letting people take something home to play with, is just asking for trouble.
I think this may encourage more than simple "connectivity." It'll be interesting to see what happens, either way.
In XP Pro, Remote Desktop is built in--which is a lot faster and smoother than VNC, plus it just works good.
And if you're using VNC because you want to access the XP machine from linux, then just emulate the Windows98 Remote Desktop software M$ offers for free with WINE or Crossover Office (which I have had great success with in general).
They obviously don't think it is our choice... I know it's hard for a company to get promoted these days with all the competition, but I agree, this is going too far.
I always wonder who keeps these people in business, because I know that I never buy from spammers. I even email them and tell them that...;) But seriously, is it all the 65+ people who just want someone to talk to and so they buy? I don't get it...
What you are saying is the exact reason that evolution isn't a "livable" worldview. If evolution were true, then you are correct, and we should weed those people out because they are hurting our "gene pool" as you said. It's just common sense which any rational evolutionist would admit, although would probably have issues with it, because not many people can really be that hard-hearted.
But if the universe was created by God and if what the Bible says is true about people who have handicaps of some sort (that they will glorify God because of it), then there is reason to love them and have compassion upon them.
Isn't it funny that you are saying that you need evidence to back up a principle? I could make up a whole bunch of "principles", and then call everyone else "doubters" and, heck, I could publish a public education textbook.

Hey... are you trying to tell us something? If you want to fess up, go ahead.:D
Well, we all know that games cause violence, and foreigners are terrorists (especially when our alert is on HIGH!). So if you have people coming overseas coming to a large game conference....
Looks like Nat's page is just forwarding to slashdot now. Nice trick.
Yes, may God have mercy on us all.

I know you just didn't admit to getting pop-ups on Slashot. POP-UPS?? What browser are you running?? ;)
If you admit to using IE, at least use some kind of pop-up blocker.
I would imagine surfing the web would be crazy without Mozilla. Thank God I'm sheltered now.

Not sure how you figure that. Have you ever even read his stuff (other than the popular "sinners in the hands of an angry God")? I seriously doubt it.
If you have, then you either misunderstood, or simply don't understand how to comprehend an intelligent, compassionate, godly man.

Only one of many, many, many examples.
You may also want to checkout Greymatter... it has some cool features and is open source as well. I've seen some nice sites that use it.

I actually keep a bookmark of some sites that I think are well-designed/inspirational. Here are a few:
...oh, and just about anything Ceonex designed (not everything, but they are very good).

Slashdot: Games (I'm sorry, I'm just kidding, but who designed this??)
I thought that already was happening every time I go to a site with flash banners. Flash Attack. Yes, that name fits quite nicely.
