This never says that you have to produce PROOF of your identity -- just your name. So why can't you just say "John Smith" and the guy leave you alone? I mean -- you're not under oath to tell the truth, are you?
When have you ever been in the South? You've been watching too much TV. Why are you modded insightful... your comment was entirely unfounded and uneducated.
Heck, you can drive for $.00 per gallon by buying a conversion kit from Greasecar. These kits allow you your diesel off of straight vegetable oil.
I remember reading about some kids from Vermont converting a bus and going cross country and just stopping at fast food places along the way.

I agree with another poster. you say you can't switch from IE because you haven't tried. I took the plunge about 3 months ago. I was happy with IE, but I wanted to see what the hubub was about. And now, i will never go back to IE. There are very few sites that don't work in Firefox (but they won't work in other non-IE browsers either). I used one site that said "you must have IE" After I emailed the webmaster, they removed that restriction. (dunno why it was even there). And -- there's a nice extension for firefox that adds "open in IE browser" to the right-click menu of a link. This is nice if you REALLY want to read something that won't load in firefox.
There are a few things that I love about firefox -- these were problems that I either didn't notice in IE or didn't think that it was the browsers problem
1)PDFs open MUCH faster in firefox than IE. This is a huge difference. I noticed it immediately. HUGE difference.
2)Popup blocking. Yes, google toolbar does the same thing, but why do you need it. A googlebar is also integrated into firefox. You can hit ctrl+k to get to that search bar. VERY easy!
3) Firefox IS faster. It loads up faster and loads pages faster. Period.
4)Tabbed browsing. I don't use it that much, so this wasn't a huge selling point for me, but its nice to combine pages that are similar into one browser window
5) Firefox loads pages much more logically, in my opinion. its easier to read a half-loaded page than IE.
6) This could be the biggest thing I love about firefox... extensions are easy to find and usually work well and its usually written by someone that didn't like a feature in firefox. Things like the IE link and other stuff are very nice.
Finally, don't confuse Mozilla with Firefox. Firefox is JUST a browser. Mozilla is an entire suite. I, personally, don't see a point for Mozilla because it loads so slow. I use Firefox and Thunderbird -- and I used to work with (and love) IE and Outlook.
Why should you let a few ridiculous people ruin the good out there. I recently had an extremely sore throat, so I got online, looked at strep and mono, and ruled out both of them, giving me peace of mind before I actually went to the doctor. I didn't have either (some other bacterial disease that cleared up with penicillin).
Another example -- my sister has always had stomach problems and is constantly getting sick and has tons of gas... she finds online that everything she is experiencing is a symptom of a gluten allergy. She's goes to an allergy, gets tested, that isn't it. However -- is there any harm done by her being tested? No.
Don't consider yourself the rare case and the internet is a very helpful place. If you come into an appointment with some realistic ideas on what is wrong, most doctors will be glad to say yay or nay to what you say -- and it can only help them try to narrow things down.
Why would they use diesel? Diesel is very dirty is one of the leading causes of smog in cities. Seems to me, if all you need is a constant generator of power for the batteries, why would you use diesel? Diesel is used in heavy trucks because of its ability to achieve much higher torque at low speeds. Is there a fundamental reason why diesel would be used as opposed to regular gas? The only reason I see is so that bus companies don't have to have 2 different tanks for the differing buses... which, i guess, is a big enough reason.
can be bad because of its lack of noise That is absolutely ridiculous. You're still talking about a small (to quote the article) "compact-car size diesel engine" You hear cars driving, yes?
Also, I live in a city (Chattanooga, TN) that has a free shuttle bus (about 30 of them) that is completely electric. The only thing you can hear is the air conditioner. Haven't been hit by one yet and haven't read about someone else getting hit either. People are not as dumb as you think, and this would never be a reason to not use the tech.
Whenever there is a storm, my cable goes out before the power ever does. Cable also tends to go out at random times. Why would I want to change to VOIP when I'm not insured that cable will always be available -- especially since a POTS system is much, much, much more reliable.
Most (and by most, I mean pretty much 99.99%) Windows users do not use Windows because of choice.
They've become familiar with it
And therefore, they choose Windows. Take for instance XMMS. I get on Linux and I want to enqueue an MP3 into XMMS by right-clicking on the mp3 file and selecting enqueue. I have to write a script that does that or find one already written. On windows though, I install WinAmp and it automatically adds that option to the right-clicking window.
Windows users are the average Joe that want to spend as little time as possible understanding their OS as possible -- they just want to ust the programs. Linux distros today take time and effort to get the functionality that usually comes without any help on their part on Windows or Windows apps
From the article: Netscape once threatened Microsoft with a software browser that promised to be an alternative to its overwhelmingly dominant computer operating system.
Talk about sensationalist journalism... well, I could say it was better than IE, but man would it sound cool if I said it threatened the whole OS!
I guess you haven't used MapBlast in a while... It now forwards to MSN Maps. I loved Mapblast... the multiple city trips and such.. and MSN doesn't let you do this.
Most definetely the battery. Lithium Ion batteries are known to explode when they go out of the normal operating specs. ALL LiIon batteries have control circuits which keep the dis/charging within the safe bound (keeping from overcharging/discharging). LiIon batteries are very explosive when they are not in a controlled environment, so it seems that the control circuit simply failed.
Why do people seem to tolerate DRM and crippled formats when Apple's peddling them?
Probably because you know what you are getting into, and its only $.99 for a track. I wouldn't want to spend $16 on a CD that I can only listen to in certain CD players.
why dont they use that to make calls sound less like a phone call and more like your sitting next to the person your talking to.
If you went through landlines, they constrict voice to the 0-5kHz range, saving space and getting rid of the harmonics above that range that make people's voice sound 'normal'. Do you really think that the phone system can withstand a quadrupling of bandwidth that each phone call takes up (~20kHz is threshold of human hearing). You're not the only one using a phone, ya know.
I'm trying to get on Windows Update right now (I was already patched, but, just routine patching -- flame away). Its running really slow... probably because of this virus. hah. sucks to be you
I am a part of my university's solar car program, but, unfortunately, we couldn't get our body made in time for the rayce. I did, however, make the 10 hour drive to see the cars in Chicago. If anyone is near where 'scrutineering' is in 2 years, they should definetely go see it.
I helped out with getting various information on different teams' cars, and some of the prices for the things are a bit ridiculous. My university's car is costing less than $150,000, which I thought was pricey until some teams told me that their cars cost 1.5 Million (Queens) or 875,000 (Waterloo).
I think most people think that the rayce is about showing people that we could have cars that run off of solar power, but that is entirely the wrong idea. The cars are made to show solar powers' abilities... if it can power a car, maybe it could do other things too (who woulda thought?)
I wish I could've gone on the rayce, but seeing all the cars was cool enough. I just hope our car makes it in time for Formula Sun next year! (Formula Sun Grand Prix is a track race every year)
All this talk about the money being cancelled because of the war? That's a bit rediculous... it sounds like a kid in soccer explaining a loss by saying "the refs sucked... we shoulda had something called our way".... I dunno, seems like the government could be cuttin corners since there's a huge tax cut on the horizon. I think I saw a post saying "the government doesn't want us to have a secure OS." wow... not much I can say to refute that... its idiotic
This Jon Cusack movie from the late 80s is absolutely hillarious, yet very few people have seen it. I mean, how can you go wrong when 2 asian characters learned English by listening to The Wide World of Sports... very funny.
This never says that you have to produce PROOF of your identity -- just your name. So why can't you just say "John Smith" and the guy leave you alone? I mean -- you're not under oath to tell the truth, are you?

Perhaps irregardless is a word?
Irregardless
I will continue to use this stupid word. Quit Bitching

Not sure if you've seen this before, but T-Mobile has a listing of all of their towers, by city. So you can see if they have towers near you...

Just a hunch.
Yea, I did that to my F12 key, only I didn't change it to :).... I changed it to "I had sex last night." Still waiting to press that button. sigh...

"I want my 2 dollars!"
Football players love what they do and play injured. Does that stop us from complaining about their millions of dollars.
The only argument you can put forth here is that "he already has millions, why get more."
of course, I meant the Civic GX. Oh well.
