Im not so much keen on the Vinyl aspect as just the thought of a record. The best time i've had in a music store in the past five years was the half hour i spent in a independent shop looking through records.
Sad thing is, i've bought more books in the past year than i have software and cd's combined. I hope book publishers dont make the mistake of cutting off libraries. It's kinda like Napster but A: its legal, B: it works.
As much as those with experience hate the idea of a one button mouse, there are those (and i know a few) who have problems with anything more than a one button mouse.
Of course, what any of those people would be doing buying a tower system is beyond me.
I think the problem is defining where the line be drawn between being critical and being anti- . It's not to big of a jump to say a negative review of a microsoft product could be taken as anti-microsoft propaganda.
of course, as far as im concerned, any excuse to get people to stop using Frontpage is fine by me.
I'm really not sure how this will pan out, but i just read that Afghan leaders are debating whether or not to simply give up America's most wanted to stop a retalitory attack.
is that a solution? Will terrorism be stopped by the extridition of one man? Or will the demand for an eye for an eye lead us to attack regardless?
it also mentioned that they were flag burning again. Where the hell are they finding these flags?!!? I was shopping all weekend and didn't see any for sale!
So, after what...years? of arguing, the solution to the M$ problem is to figure out a better solution.
It seems to me this wishy-washy behavior is just the start of simply letting the entire monopoly thing go unpunished.
I'll be fair, its a decently sound theory to say the reason this is happening is to not hurt the economy anymore, but isn't that the reason the trial happened anyway? To prevent one company from having such a large economic presence as to be immune to the law? To singlehandedly drive or slow the economy?
is it terribly unreasonable to expect someone to make a decision and then follow through?
I really wanted to like the miniseries, but i could not. I heard for months how much 'closer' this was to the original story, only to see blatent changes that went against what Herbert wrote.
I didn't mind the new stillsuit design, but come on, WEAR the damn thing. Herbert constantly reminded the reader that water was almost non-existant, yet these jokers are out sitting on the beach with baggy clothing. Fremen are supposed to be dry and skinny. And potted plants in an unsealed sietch? Whats next? running water? Doh!
It was very clear that the Emperor prized his sardaukar. He seemed to sleep in his officers uniform. So whats with the Babylon five costume rejects?
Hurt as Leto. stay away from the Prozac. what a waste of money.
Mentat? what's that. oh yeah, thats the character type that they decided to forget about. what a waste.
Although internal dialogue is not exactly looked upon kindly, i never minded it. Its certainly better than having strange, poorly written conversations to explain things.
One odd thing is that my roomate, who had never seen or read anything Dune, actually kinda liked it.
i dont really have any hope for the new series, but i'll watch it. I'm wierd that way.
So what happens if you buy software and then learn that you cant accept the licence terms? Strangely enough, most vendors will not accept returns on 'opened' software.
Im also wondering if that 72-hour grace period for opting out of a contract works.
I'm not sure if M$ can afford to ship a buggy product for the sake of being on-time. Even though these devices with be internet-ready, not everyone will be able to connect if there has to be a software update. For a game system, i think that a hard drive might be the worst thing to put in there. Older systems had to be as close to bug-free as possible before they shipped, because there was no way to fix them (besides a recall) if something went wrong. I can't wait for the first developer to release a xbox or ps2 game with the attitude that they will just release a patch.
It's $59.95 though. Thats actually more than i paid (real cash money, its a long but legal story) for my visor!

I like cd's, its just not fun to shop for them.
I think there was a UT-engine game called nerf arena. There's still shooting, but you can't have everything.
Theres also the voyager elite force add-on pack that had the Voyager walk-through.
I guess thats kinda like saying 1.3 was 'supposed' to be the last Counterstrike update.

Speaking of STIII, dont forget the one surviving klingon was Dan from 'Night Court'
We're forgeting the main reason behind crappy mice. To spur people to buy USB products.
Seems to on every mac browser i've tried.
