This reminds me of the situation with Apple’s Time Machine network backups - they allowed third-party support, then eventually killed off the Airport line of routers (which had Time Machine support baked in).
If Apple is loosening the reins on its AirPlay streaming, it makes me wonder if they’re planning to kill off the Apple TV soon.
What exactly do the truck drivers think they’re accomplishing? And what do they think they’re protesting?
I realize these guys are likely not the brightest bulbs in the box... but seriously, they must have at least a vaguely-defined reason they are choosing to do this.
Actually, what I wonder is - without a steering wheel, how do you manually get it off the road if it breaks down or is in an accident which disables the engine? I’ve been directly or indirectly involved in both situations (with “normal” cars, of course).
Next the LA Attorney's office will be claiming that the on-air talent for the Weather Channel weren't actually involved in the design of LL Bean's Weather Channel outerwear!
The problem is, you only dumped one body. Of COURSE the cops are gonna take notice.
Next time, what you need to do is dump a whole bunch of bodies and don’t try to cover them up. Then the cops will say “Oh, just cleaning day at Mob Headquarters” and go about their business.
Then, last summer, the GPS stopped working. Apple replaced it with an identical 6S right before the 1-year warranty expired.
So now I've got a 6S with a 100% battery. Eventually I'll need to spend $49 to get the battery replaced, but that's what I plan to do - not buy a new phone. This phone does what I need it to do.
Sure, I can't do animoji. I can't open it using my face. Somehow I'll live without those awesome features - maybe spend that $1000 on a new camera lens.
I assume the US has a number of people tasked with spying in Russia - there’s no reason the Russians couldn’t have made a strong effort to locate an actual US spy, regardless of their motivation (to trade for Maria Butina or whatever).
Right now we don’t have enough information to determine if this guy is likely innocent or guilty.
My daughter watches Twitch fairly often, and it seems to be less about watching the game being played and more about the entertaining, non-stop, patter some of these guys engage in while they play.
I've glanced at some of these streams she's watching, and I must admit the guys can be pretty funny. But I still don't really grok how one could spend hours watching it.
As a Seattle transit rider, I do feel somewhat obligated to point out that Seattle (and the greater Puget Sound east corridor) does have some great transit in place now - but, even in Seattle proper, there are areas which are very poorly served. And once you get outside of the city, there's a lot more areas which aren't served than are covered.
I can take a train into Seattle, and then ride light rail up to UW - but I still have to drive to the train station because bus service around my house is just about nonexistent (admittedly I don't live in King County - they do a somewhat better job with bus coverage).
Only written by someone who knows nothing about Seattle transit. What kind of misleading comment is "Seattle has won accolades for its transit system, where 93 percent of riders report being happy with service" Right all few thousand of them?
You claim to be familiar with Seattle but obviously aren't. Transit use is popular - and growing. Fewer people drive to work in Seattle than take transit, bike, or walk - and that's been true for a number of years.
As of February 2018: 48% of Seattle workers are taking transit 25.4% are driving solo 10% car or van pool 8% walk 3% bicycle to work 6% "other"
Back in February 2013: 43% of Seattle workers rode either the bus or the train 34% drove solo 9% car or van pooled 6% walked 4% telecommuted 3% biked
I've been taking transit to work in Seattle since 2003 - And absolutely LOVE having light rail to UW (since 2016)!
You can actually run BBedit for free now - you basically get the TextWrangler feature set in that case. You can choose to pay them for the "premium" features, or not - but in either case you run the same app.
Ugh. Our primary computers at home are all Macs, but we have a Windows 7 VM on the iMac because most of my wife’s sewing machine / embroidery software is Windows based. I’m very tempted to just leave that at 7 even after it’s EOL’ed - she doesn’t use Internet Explorer for anything, and the VM is isolated inbound.
I’ve seen plenty of the Windows 10 hot mess at work (as an observer - I’m on Mac and Linux there 99% of the time)... I don’t really want to deal with it myself if I can avoid it.
Back when they charged over a hundred bucks for the software, I did wonder who the heck pays that much for a text editor. But eventually they started offering a free “lite” version (originally the lite version was cheaper, but not free) - and I found that to be really handy. After several years of using BBEdit Lite and then TextWrangler (they rebranded the free one), I decided to buy BBEdit - not because I needed the additional features, but to support the company.
A lot of well-known Mac companies have bit the dust over the past decade (we hardly knew ye, FreeVerse)... but it’s nice that there are still a few stalwarts like BareBones and Omni left.
This will be interesting to follow. The question I have is - is this fundamentally easily hackable, or are the current implementations just too sloppily done?
I really want to see more info on just how accurate and detailed these photos can be at a distance.

Now if a hand had suddenly shot up out of the dirt, I bet you’d REALLY remember!
Because the end of Moore’s Law would obviously mean that no further technological progress could possibly occur. /sarcasm

However it doesn’t seem as useful as it could be.
I think it’s probably more useful for younger people and those who are willing to relocate for a job.
Like I'm going to believe THAT.
Next the LA Attorney's office will be claiming that the on-air talent for the Weather Channel weren't actually involved in the design of LL Bean's Weather Channel outerwear!
But we managed to get some magazine to publish it, and that’s all that matters.
The problem is, you only dumped one body. Of COURSE the cops are gonna take notice.

No other GMO crops are even close to a "sizable portion" of our food supply.
The vast majority of US-grown soybeans are GMO.

It's unfair that one particular group's cooption of the term is supposed to have ruined it.
Damn those Greeks!

Are veins free as in beer or free as in speech?
I hate to admit I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about! Can even see the scene in my mind...
WKRP rocks! But (domesticated) turkeys still can’t fly...
I would like to see the source for the 60% figure, that doesn't seem to be correct
The source starts with an “H” and ends with an “itty”.
Stay the course, meat industry. Stay the course.
