I'd be wanting to work at 110% of my ability 24/7, if I was forced to learn/use a device foreign to me I'd be pissed. I don't care if it's a surface, iPad, or chalkboard, let me work in a way that's most productive for me.
I'm sure that same argument was used by coaches and teachers when they went from chalk boards to dry erase white boards.
You sound like the VP's i have at work when they were forced to migrate from XP to Win7.
Try using dial up! My sister lives in the boonies and it's either that or satellite Dish. Gmail on dial up is a pig. Every page i tried to go to was awful. Web pages have gotten so bloated with auto playing ads and video that it's unusable on a slow connection.
Let's face it. The bigger the pipe everyone has, the more crap sites are going to load onto their pages to fatten them up. VZW+ATT know this. They know that sites are getting heavier. They have the records and metrics of what their users do. They also know that if they keep the baseline low enough, it'll make their more practical/usable packages seam like a deal!
I'm guessing by your excessive use of " " you're trying to question the validity of the study based on the name of the university. http://www.northwestern.edu/
Are you seriously that OCD that you absolutely have to race to your dryer the second it turns off to fold your clothes? Is your time that god awfully important and precious that you can't spare a couple of extra minutes doing laundry like people have done for at least a generation? If they're wrinkled, turn it back on for 5'ish minutes!
I'm good friends with a neurosurgeon who also does extensive cancer research. His time is VERY valuable. You know what? He's completely fine using a traditional dryer with a timer. Why? Because it's f'ing laundry!!!
Agreed simply because of how many people are too busy staring at their phones and not paying attention to their surroundings to notice that a tank is about to run them over in Tiananmen Square!
I bought a Nintendo DS Lite in 2006 specifically so i could play Tetris. Never bought another game. Never needed another game. Still got it. I'll take Tetris over any of the eye candy games any day.
Knowing financial companies, this would most likely be a Java heavy widget that breaks every time Oracle sneezes.
As it is, people are too lazy to think ahead and call their CC to let them know about their travel plans (a 2 minute phone call from personal experience). Do you honestly think those same people will pry their heads out of their asses long enough to go to a website?
Meantime every ass-hat website is adding more and more bloatware (advertisements) which makes websites feel SLOWER than dial up.
Has anyone truthfully tried to use dial up recently? It's awful. Websites have gotten so bloated that you need broadband just to have a functional web browsing experience.
$32/month? Hells bells! I dropped AT&T for my landline 5 years ago and bundled it with my cable internet provider (TWC) because i was paying $48 with taxes and all of the usual rape'tastic fees per month for basic local landline service. I would have been HAPPY with $32/month.
As mundane as it is doing the routine "easy" projects, keep doing them! Practice. Practice. Practice!!!
During the routine projects you might come up with a more convoluted idea to do the same exact task which will require x5 the work and try to do it just because you can. It's when doing mundane tasks I've had many a brain storm to try a new method. Most of the time my brain storm was Hurricane Katrina (a disaster) but there were a couple of legitimately cool things I accidentally did in the process!
I agree and thoroughly hate the whole "omnibar" trend that is happening with the browsers but What alternative are you going to use once Google has successfully rolled out their "omnibar" crap? The Firefox camp is doing everything they can to fuck themselves over while trying to mimic Chrome. They'll roll out the same thing with FF ver 45 (in 6 weeks at the rate they're going). The only difference is that the FF version will be buggier than shit.

He's still waiting for them to 3D print him a new sweatshirt.

The way FireFox speeds up your browser is by breaking the few remaining extensions that you had that still worked!
Boo. Eff. Enn. Hoo!

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

This would be Science Fiction because the NSA will never learn how the internet works.
Not all of us have stolen office from our work. Some of us stole office YOUR work!
Clearly school is out for the summer and the kiddies are bored.
Apple, they are not!
What a game! Why does EA get to distribute it?
To prove that there's one thing EA can't fuck up!

I'm sure anyone who has worked in higher education would agree with you.

Cron job FTW!
I have no mod points. I have nothing of substance to contribute to this thread.
That being said... THANK YOU!!!
