Check out the content available from IT Conversations. Lots of geeky stuff from lots of geeky people (People like Cory Doctorow, Steve Wozniak, Bruce Schneier, etc.).
You may also want to try listening to podcasts. Check out ipodder.org to see a directory of them. There is more than enough content there to keep you occupied on a daily basis.
Oh, I guess I'm also assuming you can listen to MP3 in your car...
One more mainstream "Science Fiction" show bites the dust! Hopefully this will clear more room on the scedule for things (like Farscape, Firefly, etc.) that don't have to be mainstream. (Wishful thinking on my part...)
Did you read the article? It doesn't try and install the same programs you had before. It just installs the base Debian system and preserves (as opposed to deleting) you configuration files. So you are still going to have to change the settings yourself.
CES is just getting under way?

CES has been underway since the first CES press conferences started on Wednesday! There are a lot of places that have already been coverint CES for 3 days before/. got to it!
I usually laugh when I hear the news report something I heard on/. 3 days prior. Now I'm crying because/. is losing its edge...
Create a bug, and mark it's severity as "enhancement". Give useful information in the bug report (or enhancement report, or change request or whatever you want to call it to make you happy).
I've been looking but haven't found any. My TI-85 has them as almost 3rd or 4th class buttons. I have also seen a Scientific calculator from Casio that has them as 2nd class button (shift-button).
Screw all those nice graphics and algebraic equation solvers, what I want is an HP 16c". They're on e-bay for $140 or so, which is a little expenseive for a at least 14 year old calculator. HP, bring back an improved 16c!
why not drop the codenames and use the names that the final product is going to go buy
Codenames are very important. Especially when you have a marketing department that can't make up its mind on what to call things. It will be one thing one week and another thing the next week. And all the time the developers will still be calling it by its code name.
And you can't call it by release number because what the release number is isn't always decided until right before it ships (we have to jump to version 6.0 to keep up with microsoft!)
This obviously isn't as "big," so what the hell is this about and why should I care.
Have you ever heard of this little thing called Google? You can type in phrases and stuff and they will (usually) bring back a list of websites about that phrase. You should try it sometimes. For those of us who know who he is and love all of his works, this was great news and I'm really happy that I didn't also have to read a short history of his works
enumerators are much better than just plain ints. Even though they may compile to the same thing, the compiler can do a little more checking on the enumerators, since it know the valid ranges for the enumerator so you don't have to explicitly check the range. You do check to make sure you get passed a valid value for all your int-as-enumerators? Don't you?
This isn't a review, this is a story of one users problems and solutions. Reviews imply opinions on how easy it was to use, how quick it was, how easy it was to find.
Any/. reader have a real review of this? Maybe some opinions on what they did right and what they did wrong?
Because mice would have been the smart way.

You know, new hires have to share 10% of their salary with their coworkers...
Farscape is about a hunk surrounded by hot babes ...
Why do you think I started watching it? Then I realized how good the writing was

It was too messy and unmaintainable. I'll wait until the rewrite comes out to fix all the grammer and spelling bugs.

On one hand /. is upset that the TV industry takes offense at people FF through commercials.
/. that people are blocking banner ads on the web.
On the other hand,
Now I'm confused. When is advertising good and when is advertising bad? I think I'll go home and FF through some commercials...
Dude, some advice. Breathe every once in a while. It's a great stress relief.
Try it with me now. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
All better now.
