"Tell me why I need to recomple a browser, to get AA support?"
Easy enough it's compiled to take advantage of a library.
Strawman arguments just suck.
"Do I have to recompile the browser if I switch from 16bit colour to 32bit?"
Please thats just a troll. Do I have to recompile to change proccessors?
"I'm sorry, but this IRIITATES me!"
Crist then do somthing about it. _lots_ of people are at least trying.
No one is forcing you to use the newist features.
Strangly enough, thats not way I would Build Mozilla.
Usualy I use these to get what I want, this includes all
sorts of goodys, that are not just font specific. Also I
shy away for the "-march=i686" but I do use O2.
I have a secret fantasy: and no this is not a trollI want to be a Pak, I know it sounds strange but it is true. Protector was the first book I read, and I read itas a early teen in the 70s.
Question is, did the Pak start as a Frankenstein or just a cool idea for you? And where in the hell did you get the idea that we where the Pak? Did you know the Pak made Ringword _before_ you started Ringworld?
I was not agreeing just because it was Dyson, but because I though Dysons
comments where more insightful and credible.
Now I allmost always think "Crichton" ideas suck. He allways takes the same
themes, and bends them to some easy for the masses Luddite agenda.
Personaly I think the "get a fucking life" comment is cheap, easy, and to
be honest kinda sophmoric. Not what I would call insightful.
I realy don't know how else to put this.
But FUCK YES!
Accusing Dyson of not having a imagination is like
saying water can't be wet.
Freeman Dyson is one of the smartest people alive.
Don't allways agree with him, (in this case I do).
Only other person with that range of insight is
Roger Penrose. I don't always agree with Roger either.
Hmm come to think of it Penrose pisses me off somtimes but he allways makes me think.:>
Then it's just karma whoring then?
Look he pulled the giff out of his ass, and tried to pass himself off as a expert.
You might look at some of his other posts.

What a load of crap!
Or at least, what are you smoking?
How does that "llustrates the sheer amount of money that went into this project." ?

I was on that bandwagon untill Oracle bought it, whe came up with a
custom mail server with IMAP/exim/openldap and was planning to incorperate
steltor. Now Oracle wants us to buy a whole buch of other crap to to get
calendaring. *sigh* Well we still have a _realy_ old version of Netscape
Calendar I guess we will stick with that.
I have had a HDTV (without a tuner) for about a year, I bought a tuner (nice one too)a few months ago and was disapointed,I even bought a fancy antenna. There was only 4 channels that broadcast hdtv and the quality ranged from amazing to _realy_ bad. Left it hooked up but did not use it for a while, then I had it scan for new channels last weekend and lo and behold six new channels! It looks like the local TV stations have been upgrading becase the the quality seemed to of increased also. Now it's worth it, six month ago I am not so sure.. HD is fast becoming "worth it".

I did not say it did 1920, I said 1080i. Here is the specs on the TV, I have a seprprate samsung tunner.
Panasonichmm well my TV is 4:3 and does 1080i it's a Panasonic CT-32HX42.
I would imagine that a tv that does 1080i is hdtv.
>If you buy a 4:3 HDTV set, your a moron.
I'm a moron with a great tv. Shut the fuck up.

Why should JWZ be quoted about a project he bailed on years ago? jwz is entertaining when he whines, it's the only reason I can think of.

HD is fast becoming "worth it".Damn I felt the same way, I was sure I was going to just _HATE_ it, topic, themes, seemed too campy, too patriotic.
And lo a behold! I was wrong! It was a great book fresh incite into mythos and fun to boot. I need to get Coraline, ASAP.

I was lucky enough to see Jacobi in Breaking the Code when I lived in the UK.
You suck!... no realy
I wish I could have seen it, Oh well, that is a worthy think for a review on Slashdot.
I was also lucky enough to meet Robin Gandy [turing.org.uk] who was one of Turning's students and a major mathematician in his own right.
And let me guess you knew Penrose too.
Thanks for the additional info!
Not into this film; but there was a play and a "television movie" staring Derek Jacobi. Breaking the Code
