Hmm. Well, total program costs back then were $150 million (which is about $843 million in '02 dollars). Scaled Composites looks to have a hell of a bargain on their hands.
I don't have a link handy but the reason it wasn't caught in testing is because the longest test they ran was 9 days. The errors started to happen (IIRC) 18 days into the mission.
I know they cover most of Saginaw->Mackinac area but I am not sure how far south they go. There is a *really* sucky webpage available here that shows WISPs in MI.
I have a few family members that use Speednet and they are really happy with them.

I am a developer for a Sprint Ringtones site (3gwiz.com/3gvisioncorrection.com). We do NOT spam anybody. Period. End of story. No spams. Nada. Zip.
Yes, we do have a ton of email addresses that we possbily could do it two. But we don't. And we won't.
Why you may ask?
We are geeks. This means we won't do to you we wouldn't want done to us. Phone spam is the lowest of the low form of spam as the end user (in the US at least) has to directly pay or it, or it at least comes out of a bucket of allowed SMS messages that they have paid for already.
This means the end user can see the physical cost of the spam. While traditional spam may not affect your pocketbook directly, this does.
Surprise surprise the republicans now got to be on the receiving end of the shaft (so be careful what you ask for boys). So they challenged the law and the supreme court bailed them out by declaring the thing unconstitutional (not surprising how many republicans on the court).
Try this one on for size. The Line Item Veto was sponsored by two Republicans: Dan Coats of Indiana, and John McCain of Arizona (Yes, that John McCain!).
Guess who cheered, whooped, and hollered when it was struck down? Robert "I have ever single thing I brought to W. Virgina named after me" Byrd and Carl Levin. Both Democrats.
They were the ones who first challenged the law soon after it was enacted but the Supreme Court said come back later when it is actually used.
They, along with NYC and another group did come back and successfully killed it.

Cinescape says: They cut the book in Half
on
Battlefield Earth
·
· Score: 1
Cinescape had an interview with John Travolta, one of the producers of Battlefield Earth. He states that the movie would have been made much earlier if they could write a script that matched the overall feel of the book. They finally decided to take the book, split it in half, clean it up a little, and basically have an instant sequel if it does well.
Sony is the undisputed master of mass manufacturing consumer electronic products, which is what gaming platforms have become, and I seriously doubt whether Microsoft has what it takes to prove that it can do this, properly, to its shareholders. Don't forget that they've gotta show profitability for the X-Box division relatively quickly...
Microsoft is the undisputed master of mass marketing consumer computer software and hardware to people. Microsoft doesn't join markets, it either takes control or creates new markets, for better or worse.
And as for profitability, show me where Sony is making a profit on the PS2 hardware. The licenses for software and hardware are where the money is at.
It all depends on what altitude you are orbiting at. Mercury orbited at a much lower altitude than the current fleet of orbiters and more than likely, could see much more detail of the Earth's surface.
What is really interesting is night. At low altitude, you can make out some of the major cities from all the light pollution. National Geographic had a section on this recently. It was pretty neat to see the US lit up like a Christmas tree while one could definitely tell where North Korea was because of the near complete absence of light.
They trotted this good idea (At the time) out and pushed the heck out of it but it died a slow painful death in the PS/2 line. However, a little later the PCI bus was born. Which, looks a lot like the PCI slots we know and love.
Last time I heard, they were prepping Discovery for launch and it was being moved to the vertical mating position to the external tank. I wonder if they proceded with that and if they did they are lowering it again.
Reading the current status report, it mentions that the Kennedy is a mere 9 feet above sea level. The storm surge of floyd is going to be well above that. This could seriously jepordize the US Space Program. Heck, it could cause repricussions world's Human Space Flight programs!

At this point in this whole trial, I don't care if he did do it or he didn't do it, the system clearly failed. No one and I mean no one should sit in prision for more than 4 years without a trial. In addition, the treatment the prosecutors in this case was less than professional. You do not spew your opinion across the media and stall and stall and stall your case.
They basically got the media into a hacker/cracker hating frenzy to help out their case!
Geez. How much is a plane ticket to Switzerland. I think I am tired being a US Citizen.
You have to take the three measurements to get an accurate reading. I was watching the landing and it looked correct. Plus, it looks like the data stream from the shuttle shuts down or lagged during the landing. If you watched the launch, O'Brien mentioned the 6 second delay between the actual applet and what was happening on camera.
Apparently, when one computer maker comes up with a new revolutionary idea, they cross license it to other manufacturers and the other manufacturers do the same. Apparently, emachines was taking a free ride on the innovation train run by the other manufacturers (From MSNBC)
The technology in question, including selectable resolution monitor systems and a system designed to boot from CD-ROM or tape, is basic to PC systems.
(They also mention that the result of the earlier PB lawsuits that Compaq filed was the PB had to pay Compaq for 5 years of Patent royalties. The other sources don't mention that)

1 capsule: $2.5 million
Adjusted for inflation...
20 Capsules: $281 million (2002 Dollars)
1 Capsule: $14.5 million
So for bit more, we got two planes and room to play with M&Ms

Let's see, UTC+200 = 10:00 am GMT.
Brings that to roughly 2am on the US East coast and 11pm on the US West Coast? Just after IRC prime time.
Sure. This is going to work...
The other ways I can think of off hand is a line doubler/quadrupler built in, or maybe a progressive scan output.
I forget how the first way does it but the latter reinterlaces the frames and sends out one non-interlaced frame at a time.
