As a Canadian, I would never have believed that NY City and America has or allows a Stop and Frisk search. God, you are in a police state. WTF is happening to tolerate that.
Ohh, I know... Schools are for profit. Many students can't afford to go to school, many schools can't afford books, so the kids are out in the streets with prayer books and sticks of gum.
You say that and you are correct, but when the best solution we have right now, nuclear, is mentioned the greenies freak the hell out and star screaming and running around in circles. Until we actually embrace what is possible to do and stop wishing on new technology to catch up, we'll be stuck here for a while.
Just get a tremendous calamity such as tornado, snow storm, earthquake around the area served by that plant, and be grateful it is there as a secondary source of power.
My point is that the EU is a bunch of arrogant idiots who have no business telling an American company to split up.
Like it or not, idiots or not, they do have such business, simply because your poor little "american company" is no such thing. It's an international corporation that was once founded in america, but now does business all over the world, including within the EU and actually quite a lot of it.
In the USA Google can do what is allowed under USA law. You know, Present you with their preferred websites that permit you to shop with a controlled to merchants and pay more. One could say Google is a monopoly.
Except that is completely wrong. Fraud and theft are illegal in free market capitalism. Rape and murder are illegal too.
Why does everyone think they understand and are qualified to speak about and criticize economic systems when they have only the barest idea of what the words even mean, much less the history and principles behind them?
Its legal fraud if you pay cash. (Cash is hard to trace) and get away with it. I suppose you could bring the item back as an unopened return and get cash back.
I don't care for online climate change deniers.
You use the word "facts". Let's talk about facts. Suppose I tried to debate this nutjob.
First of all, this person already decided what they "believe," and everything they read will be twisted into evidence supporting their predetermined conclusion. Therefore, right off the bat, actual debate is impossible. They've already decided what they think is true.
So, we'd go back and forth. They would post evidence supporting their perspective, and off to Google I'd go to dig up rebuttals from actual climatologists. That will take time because the climate change denial groups are always generating new bunk data, new misinterpretations of published papers, and new misrepresentations of past quotes. One can't just keep a database of counterevidence because they've always got new bullshit.
After however much time I'd spend researching rebuttals, that person would just keep replying with more bullshit. They either wouldn't read the counterpoints or wouldn't understand them. Then they'd pull out the ever-present Final Tactic by telling me that they know what they're talking about because they're a pilot, physics student, congressional aide, or whatever. They'll try to follow up bunk "science" with anecdote.
By the time the whole thing concluded, I will have failed to convince them because it was never a possibility to begin with. They will have failed to convince me because I actually look at the science and don't delude myself. Then, out there somewhere at their keyboard will sit some layperson who just wants to get along with their church group, some paid anti-climate change shill, or just an everyday idiot repeating what they've been told.
So.
1. They won't convince anybody.
2. Nobody can convince them.
Therefore, their bringing the subject up to start with is masturbatory and annoying. It accomplishes nothing that walking into a movie theater and announcing over a megaphone that the world is flat wouldn't accomplish.
The most constructive response is thus, "God damnit, can you just stop this already?" Optionally, this may be peppered with, "Please just go away."
SURE IT IS BUNK. Tell that to Buffalo NewYork, a city that never had 3 meters of snow in a year, and explain how 3 meters of snow fell in 3 days. Explain the collapsed roofs and deaths from the storm.
Now that snow is the sticky wet kind, and rain is forecast for today. Sorry for all the residents in and around Buffalo.
I am disappointed in Yahoo.com
I had been a member since it was founded. In fact, I paid my $20/yr to insure no ads But last year Visa changed rules and my Visa provider was there, ahead of the crowd, with the new rules implemented. My Visa supplier does not trust the code on the reverse of the card when supplied by an online site.
Ergo, VISA intercepts the request from vendor, and asks me questions for which I and I alone know the answer. If I answer correctly, confirmation is given.
But yahoo.com timed out on waiting for Visa, and did not tell me that it happened. Suddenly, ads were back. I explained to yahoo.com what happened, and that I should be allowed the old rate, but it fell on deaf ears.
So, Yahoo.com, You still have me, but you have soured me from recommending your site for anything, including search engine use.
I think that a dollar a month is a reasonable rate to not be presented with ads, not $4/mo.
"The rules prohibited ISPs from interfering with internet traffic, except as a last resort, and urged them to instead combat network congestion with âoeeconomic measuresâ such as new investment or usage limits.
Those limits have resulted in relatively low monthly caps for Canadians, but the rules have kept neutrality violations to a minimum."
If given the choice between investing in infrastructure and usage limits what do you think American ISPs would do?
Also, all the speed in the world doesn't do much good with low caps.
You have to define low caps. Is 50gigs / month considered low? Thats what I have as a basic rate.
One thing that other democracies have is a limit to party funding. Companies where I live can't contribute more than what an individual can, and thats less than 1500/yr.
Ask yourself how much lobbyist's are paid and how much energy companies put into the coffers of political parties. Think of the Koch brothers, as an example.
Answer: More than 5 years of the average American salary.
Quebec, Canada has some of the cheapest rates and most reliable power sources in North America. The James Bay is the source. Large retail Amounts of electricity is at 4cents / kWh.
And with our cold winters, there is no air conditioning costs for the winter season. Summer temps are in the 80F degrees (20-30C).
Gee, I'm sorry you have so much anger against your President. I guess you know that he only has two hands, and work a 60 hr week. And of course he can delegate responsibility, or can he. Now the question is one of priorities. World problems and the economy and foreign affairs is being tackled first. The NSA is being addressed, but not at the speed you like. So, handle Russia, gun laws, Iran, Syria, the Congress, and if there is some results from the research into the NSA, squeeze that time in.
The mockup is probably an investigative tool to use to determine where the best place to hit the actual carrier in order to do the most damage. Probably where all the ammo is storred or where the carrier could easily be crippled, I.e. sunk.
Food doesn't grow when it is so hot that the sun dries out the land and there is no water. Food does not grow when the plants are parched, and withered.
Colleges and universities discovered "for profit businesses" where the customers are vying to get in. Milk cow institutions.
Time to realize that greed is only limited by what desperate students will pay.
One has a humanitarian decision, let people die or remain chronically ill or allow exorbitant amount / fees to pharmaceutical trojians to respond to greed.
Quoting you, the knowledge of calculus allowed you to recognize that you needed a standard integral, were able to look it up and apply it to solve your problem.
Are you saying that you can get the bachelor of computer science without knowing grade 12 mathematics?
Shouldn't most of the analysts and programmers be classified as a trades person? Without the math and with just some hardware, networking, and programming, I could never hire that level of employee for other than simple algorithmetic development.
In the construction trade you have architects and carpenters
A good carpenter doesn't necessarily make a good designer and vice-versa. But a craftsman is not able to do a sloppy job. Doing so is to lower his self estime. He takes on a job that his experience tells him what it will take, and commits to it. If he takes a bit longer, that's the break
Ohh! Sorry, I thought I was writing about a programmer.
My mistake. A programmer is not a craftsman.
I thought like you when I was in my 30s. But then I got overseas contracts and studied and learned French. I also picked up Spanish.
What a satisfaction it is to converse and to write a 2nd language. And the most amazing benefit to me has been my substantially improved E glish vocabulary. I am also able to better explain technology to non super brilliant techies. I now subscribe to French and Spanish TV programming.
I started learning the second language at age 45. Spanish is my favorite to listen to for music, news, and French is my reading/writing/speaking fluent English alternative.
Programming languages have finite verbs and nouns, with no adjectives or adverbs. How can it be deemed equivalent to a cultural language?
I wrote some LINUX code that does 99% of what the requestor wants. Point the program at a top directory and it will scan it and every enclosed subdirectory.
Written for Unix/Linux. It uses md5 hashes and or sha1 hashes. It can run run as root. Just ask for it.
I am an early riser. And have been for 50 years. Daylight does come at 4:10am and darkness at 10pm. Those extended hours are valid from May to end July. I am living proof of the extended hours.
