Don't forget the fact that Microsoft Office costs several hundred dollars versus Open Office which is free.

Besides I use Gnumeric not Calc. Let's see a comparison between Excel and Gnumeric.

  3. Bah on OpenOffice Bloated? · · Score: 1

Is this not exactly what they mean by bloat? I mean if it were the other way around we'd all be bitching about bloated MS software loading all of office up when all I freaking need is excel. It's retarded. Opening up Word, Excel, Etc.. is NOT a fair comparison at all. If all I need to do is 1 thing why should I have them all open? Well with Ope nOffice it sounds like I don't have much of a choice!

Not that this will stop me from using it, but I hope it's something that gets fixed in the future because it really is retarded.

Although.... Correct me if I'm wrong but StarOffice wasn't open source, right? And Open Office is based off StarOffice.. How does this translate into open source software being bloated? I mean it wasn't even fucking open source for most of it's life.

Lets compare Excel to Gnumeric. That's a MUCH better comparison.

I dunno. The stylus has a home built right into the DS and it works quite well. The DS comes with a backup stylus or two and buying new ones is quite cheap and easy.

I'd be more concerned with the size of the DS compared to the size of an SP or micro.

BTW If you're concerned with loseing a cheap stylus because of it's size then what about loseing an expensive micro for the same reason? It could easily slip out of your pocket.

If you're looking at PSP's because they play MP3's then you're a retard. You can buy a 1 gig flash mp3 player for the same price as a 1 gig DUO memory cart for the PSP and I'm about 90% sure that everybody who buys a 1 gig duo for MP3's is only going to use it for that reason. People aren't going to constantly delete their songs off the memory cart to make room for movies, then put them back when they want to listen to music. That's retarded. So what is the point? There isn't any.

You seem to assume that there will never ever be any new artists creating hits and that's complete bull shit. If Apple could grab some up and coming artists and turn out some hits maybe their service would look more attractive to others and start a chain reaction, but how would they know if they don't try?

It's obviously a risk worth taking otherwise there wouldn't be any record lables at all as it is because nobody would have ever took the risk and spent the money to make it happen.

We don't have the powersource. Enough for a few flying cars? Sure no problem. Enough for the entire planet? How much will it cost (flying burns a lot more gas than driving), How much polution would it cause? How much of this fuel can be produced?

Sticking regular jet fuel into every car on earth is not exactly a good idea. Not a good idea at all.

What about cost? Real pets cost a lot more than a one time fee of $180 (DS + Nintendogs).

What about time? Not having time to take care of a real pet is not the same thing as being lazy.

What about people who are allergic? There are a bunch of people out there who are allergic to most pets.

Are you a parent? What if you don't want a dog, but your kids do. Are you going to buy your kids a dog that you will eventually end up having to take care of or are you just going to buy your kids Nintendogs?

What if you just don't plain WANT a real pet? I love dogs, but I don't want ANY of the responsibility of taking care of one. I've had many many pets in the past and I'm done with it.

Are you suggesting people like me should go out and buy a real dog anyway, even though that's not what we want? Am I wrong for buying Nintendogs?

    Explain your logic here.

And what about other games? Like the other person who replied to you pointed out. Do you own any sports games? Why not just go play the real sport? Do you own any FPS games? Join the Army. Oh wait I bet you don't want all the other responsibilities that come with joining the Army. Go figure.

I'm really excited to see what the next year will bring to the table for the DS. It's already hard to beat this system for bang for the buck. I can only see it getting better.
