Did you know that KDE doesn't have a *SINGLE* Pima Indian developer? Not *ONE*! What is being done to attract more Pima Indians to the KDE development community? And why hasn't KDE made ANY efforts to reach out to the Pima Indian community to encourage young Pima Indians to become KDE developers?
Jew, Christian, Muslim. The hardcore fanatics always scare the shit out of me. And you would be hard-pressed to find anyone outside of ISIS and Al-Quaida more fanatical than Mossad and its crazy Zionist ilk. The thought of them having cyber-weapons is scary. But much more scary is the thought that we actually gave those religious crazies nuclear weapons.
He was allowed back only once the press got a hold of the story and the University was embarrassed. The only thing "sorted out" was that Syracuse University are a bunch of PC bullies who got caught expelling a student for free speech and reluctantly had to backtrack only after getting called on it in the national media.
But then again, you're a SJW who won't be convinced no matter what. So fuck off. There are tons of other examples, but you'll just do backflips to dismiss all of them because you're a ideologue who can't accept the truth. Violating PC speech codes will get you kicked out of college. If you're lucky, the national media might pick up on it and this might get you back in (eventually, after a lot of hassle and a fight). But the message has already been sent to anyone else thinking about speaking their mind--shut up or face expulsion.
And again, fuck off, you SJW piece of dogshit. It's your kind that cause students across the country to keep their mouths shut in fear.
I'm not even sure what the author is arguing for here. Is he saying there should be NO regulation of drones (because other countries don't do it)? Well sure, that's fine for now. But do you want a future where millions of those goddamn things are flying around everywhere with NO SAFETY REGULATIONS at all?
Look if China and other countries want to put some minor business advantage ahead of public safety, then more power to them. But I much prefer living in a country where companies can't just do whatever the fuck they want with the excuse "But regulation could cost us some business advantage!"
Anonymity doesn't just empower assholes. It also empowers whistleblowers, people who are afraid to be honest about the powerful because they're weak, people whose ideas may be controversial but still need to be heard, etc.
Wow, who is making the argument that we should "sacrifice free speech for a better society"?
Pretty much every university in the U.S. and Europe at this point. Saying the wrong thing that offends someone on a college campus these days will get you kicked out faster than banging Dean Wormer's wife. You don't even have real free speech rights anymore in the few "free speech areas" that they've allotted. It's all-but-considered assault if you make a comment that can even be CONSTRUED as offensive.
It's the classic harsh internet reality that society doesn't like to face. To have true free speech, you must have anonymity. But some of that free speech is going to be things that society isn't used to hearing (and doesn't want to hear), because society isn't used to true anonymity.
Look at it as an insight into how people REALLY feel--when they're not compelled by threat of expulsion/arrest/harassment to be polite and politically correct.
They're stripping away Comcast's freedom to shake-down content providers for more money and screw over their customers! What is this, the Soviet Union??
They also receive the gift of being obligated to pay US taxes.
Surprisingly, very few countries let you have all the benefits of being a citizen without requiring you to pay taxes for them. I hear they won't even let you have free healthcare in the UK if you're not a taxpaying UK citizen. Governments are so selfish.
It's a fucking shame This site used to be so great back in the day. I remember when it was routine to see postings with over 1,000 comments (don't be fooled by my UID, I've been here a LONG time). And I'm still not sure why Dice seems so absolutely determined to kill it off. But man, have they done a great job of it! Even after the outcry against the Beta, they are just DETERMINED to FORCE it on us. They're like a drunk friend who wants to fight you tooth-and-nail to get into that car and drive off that cliff. He is just GOING TO DRIVE OFF THAT CLIFF, no matter how many times you plead with him and warn him.
They finally got rid of the ability to follow comment histories on the nobeta. Now it's impossible to see if a comment has been replied to and following any comment thread has to be done manually, one post at a time.
Personally, I think it's very progressive of Dice to hire special needs students to do all their web design work. Special Peter did an excellent job with the Beta redesign and today's re-skin, and his mom is certainly VERY proud of him--probably even proud enough to bake that lasagna he likes so much. Good work, Peter! You keep achieving, just like your baseball cap says!
I wonder about the sheer amount of money that must be changing hands to induce all city governments to sing the same song from the same hymnal in perfect unison.
Have a look at how much a taxi medallion sells for in NYC to give you an idea of the kind of money we're talking about here. Average selling price $800,000+. And that's AFTER Uber (they used to go for over $1 million).

Id love to see the breakdown on where they came up with this number.
It includes the 544,000 unfilled positions that require 30 years of Java programming experience.

Do you have any concrete, verifiable examples of this that you can cite?
Quite a few. Here is just one: Matthew Werenczak.
Would you like some more?
The first vote I propose is a law saying that any disparagement of Jesus is illegal speech.
77% of Americans are Christian. So let's put it to a vote and see democracy in action.

It's sad that in this era when we need it most, the movie "PCU" isn't available for streaming. It should be projected into every dorm room.
And am *I* the one who gets to decide what is and isn't? Or you?

Thank goodness for forks.
That's exactly what MS and Apple say every time someone brings up the possibility that Linux may one day be a serious competitor with their OS's.
Everything else always ends up requiring my help, whether it SAYS "self-cleaning" or not.
They're stripping away Comcast's freedom to shake-down content providers for more money and screw over their customers! What is this, the Soviet Union??
Before ISIS bulldozes it.

I'm not even sure why anyone listened to U2 even in their heyday.
I just wonder if it will be as successful as the Steambox.
If you're blind in one eye, why would you ever buy this in the first place?

Anybody else's Slashdot break today?

Automated cars will smash the unions
Well, until all the unemployed workers smash the automated cars.
