    Anything which comes out of pure commercial interests will eventually perish .. due to bad / "spreadsheet led" decisions . The whole mobile thing going around these days is built around commercial interests unlike the "Linux" thing we had going some years (decades) ago which was primarily academic with some commercial participation . I miss that "old" purist feel .
    There is no number one here :(

    why does an app ( from google play) which just produces fart sounds ( just like 80% of the other apps) want permissions to access my browser bookmarks , call information, data store and what not .

    That is beyond my understanding

    Now that google is laying high speed fibre networks, why not let the employees telecommute over their Gbps links ? That solves the problem of them crowding public transport and the etc .

    Thats right not much tech there .. but did we miss facebook?
    I agree facebook is tard-tech but never before have I seen the common folk expressing their desire to have a display of vanity via camera. click click post post. That I think is making the general populace a little more stanger than before .. And ofcourse they don't realise that all this is for free .. as long as they put all of their lives up big data servers.

    Yeah the manned space thing seems a little too expensive and decades away (at best) . But these fellas (ISRO) have recently and quite successfully launched a geo stationary satellite . I wonder how many countries have that capability . 5 ?

    In 2013 1.81 billion mobile devices were shipped. Half of them are going to become (deliberately? ) obsolete by 2015.

    If China had not implimented the one child policy decades ago , they would have the worlds largest landfills today!

    One mobile device per company !!! is the need of the hour. Besides that will keep the devices sane and force them to include all features into one flat priced device.

    It's essential to keep Indian politics running . All the so called cast - oriented politicians don't exist without cast . They make sure it is perpetuated to keep their jobs . They don't care squat about anybody or about changing the system etc. Besides racism is a human thing and is really difficult to eliminate.

    I guess you have summed it up nicely . But I'm of the opinion that if you want to make real money in india , Join politics. The question is which is more difficult .. being a sweatshop techie or being an a**hole politician ? ( in any case if you make it from sweatshop techie to senior "manager" , u'd have to be an a**hole politician to hang around there .. and in 90% of cases a total wimp to get there .. )
