Nope. Didn't touch a thing. But there's no point in arguing. The backend was doing some strange things earlier, but not *that* strange. Another mystery of the Internet.
I used to date multiple women and had no interest in marrying any of them.:)
FYI - the progeny that seem to be doing best and getting the most job satisfaction are cooking and baking and styling hair, not doing anything high-tech at all. And my oldest stepdaughter is supposed to be marrying a guy who does office partition and wiring (both power and signal), which is another "can't do from India" skilled labor job. Chuck owns his own business and does very well... lots of travel, but the money is worth it.
There is *always* a job market for people who can fix things. You can even barter. I'm going to reload Windows on my neighbor Sherwood's PC and he's going to weld a broken hinge on my Cherokee driver's door. We will split the (inevitable) beer cost 50/50.:)
Eventually a bunch of the laid-off blue-collar types will start shooting the richies. Why not? If they have nothing left to lose and nothing to gain in the future by being good little boys, why shouldn't they go after the people screwing them?
Suddenly, the libertarian credo will be, "my rights stop where your 9mm hollow-points hit me. MOMMEEEEE!!!"
And the new communist manifesto will say, "From each according to what I say, because I have a gun, and to each armed man according to what he wants."
Either that or the zombies will come, and suddenly the phrase, "Surely it's a rising demand for brains," will have a whole new meaning.
Forget 100 years ago. Go back 1000 or 10,000 years. Everyone worked like crazy during planting and harvest seasons or if there was a war. Otherwise, life tended to be pretty low-key, with lots of time for drinking and fucking and story-telling.
What we need to do is find a way to give ourselves the benefits of the industrial revolution without its downsides. Given the length of time it took us to go from feudalism to post-industrialism, you will want to be patient. The machines and toys may change with fearful rapidity, but human beliefs change slowly. Please note the fact that the most popular religions today are more than 1000 years old.
It seems that you have just described current American "free enterprise" culture, and the side effects of socialism you describe would also be side effects of a Randian teapartarian system.
We need a new ism with a new means of distributing work, material goods, and entertainment. Or, more likely, we need something better than humans to implement it, since it is humans who screw up all the happy ideologies that would make our lives perfect if only we adhered perfectly to them.
The thing is, if a group of engineers discusses an idea, sooner or later an idea pops up that everyone at the table agrees is the best possible solution, given the problem to be solved and the resources available to solve it. Then they go put their solution into practice. Politics isn't like this. There are always a few nimrods who will denounce even the sanest solution to any problem as "statist" or "communist" or whatever the appropriate political insult is at the moment, so the end solution is almost never the sanest one.
QUICK: Name the last president we had with an engineering degree.
Here in Florida, the trend seems to be to move offices away from areas close to most office workers' modest homes, to office parks near areas with McMansions and golf courses for the richies at the top -- and no place affordable for the bulk of the workers to live. Then come demands to county officials to widen roads and put in new ones, add bus lines, etc.
With a major job shortage right now, the richies aren't worried about workers leaving them. And never forget: lots of people in Mumbai will happily commute an hour each way to earn $2/hour.

Actually, here in Manatee County, FL, the County EMS costs $650 + mileage per response. Blue Double Cross only pays a portion of that, BTW, but uninsured people or ones who haven't hit their health ins. deductible pay the full amount.
Worse = Baylfite, the private (non-profit) medical helicopter co. that flies all accident victims here to the closest trauma center, across the bay in St. Petersburg -- for a $5100 "liftoff fee" plus $1000 per mile flown. And they WILL fly you if your apparent injuries meet an arbitrary point system.
Example: Over 55 plus a broken arm = "fly to trauma center" even if you're sitting up and chatting with the cops. And then, like as not, Double Cross or another insurer will only pay $1000 or so, and you are stuck with the rest.
George Lucas reputedly loves all those fan films and Lego Star Wars characters. At the same time, the Lucas companies must sue trademark infringers now and then if they want to retain their trademarks.
But, as I learned some years ago while defusing a DMCA complaint against a SourceForge project that had some Lucas IP in it, if you *ask Lucasfilm politely* for permission to use their trademarks, they'll probably give it to you -- and probably won't want any money if you're a small-timer.
If the reported fraud is committed by a Democrat, the looniecrats will spread the story like mad. If it's committed by a Republican - at least here in Florida - it's business as usual and no one will notice or care.
Our primary home security system is Terri the Terrorist Terrier -- 55 pounds of friendly tail-wagging furry cuddliness if she knows and likes you, 55 scary pounds of big teeth and growls if you're a stranger.
When we first got Terri my wife and I lived in what some might call a "sketchy" neighborhood, and we KNOW Terri scared off (and likely bit, from the screams) at least one or two intruders in the yard, well before they could get to the house or to my office in a separate building. Terri is also portable; if you need to walk around a not-nice neighborhood, you can take Terri with you.
Terri has also handled the few rat infestations we've had, using the traditional terrier "shake until dead" method.
We got Terri from the Manatee County Animal Shelter. There is surely a similar facility near you that has a perfect alarm system waiting to go home and protect you from burglars, cats, and Al Queda operatives -- and who will wag his or her tail when you come home and probably even lick your face if allowed. Don't worry about breeds and all that. You'll know the right dog, and the right dog will know you. Training is not hard, and dog food is cheap. For 24/7 indoor AND outdoor protection, you'll want a doggie door and a fenced yard, but your living circumstances may not allow this. No big; millions of dogs live indoors and go out for walks and to dog parks for exercise.
This is probably because Cisco doesn't need to provide much tech support for consumer-level Linksys products, so they can be really good on the few calls they *do* get. I've had Linksys routers and switches for years and have never needed or wanted to call for help. In my experience, these are excellent products that "just work." I like that.:)
You don't even need children. My artist wife is working on an illustrated book, and her illustrations are a combination of computer-drawn art, photos, and printed-out this and that, all put together as collages -- and scanned so that they can go to the printer as PDFs.
Not as weird as the "computer guy" she made with clay, an old video card, some assorted paper bits, and a Louise Nevelson-type box.:)
If I want great coffeehouse atmosphere and free wifi, I go to locally-owned Luv A-Da Coffee. Panera, McD, and Denny's all have free wifi if I want to go to a chain joint. Starbucks is overpriced. No reason to go there.

The link works for me in both Chrome and Firefox. I don't have Explorer handy, so I can't test it with that browser.
I'm sorry you're having problems, but I don't see anything wrong.
And yes, I proofread everything and check all links.

Replace "machines" with "Chinese workers" and you have a good description of current economic trends.
"...if we put a limit on that says 'women can only have 2 children' then I would have been screwed."
Not true. All you needed to do was find a different woman.

The old design was much more usable and had better colors. Where did the pink ponies go?

The gross number of fart apps isn't important as long as at least 10 of them are fully scalable and suitable for enterprise use.

Of *course* it's all absurd.
But how about this: if you go to the forums on zappa.com and search for Linux, you get 76 results, and only 29 each for Windows and Mac.
This proves something -- something silly, no doubt, but still something (or other).
