Exactly so. If you don’t want Apple to track your behavior then simply don’t buy their products or use their services. Want to avoid Google or Facebook, you have to hobble your web browser.
Go ahead and do a search on Facebook web trackers or Google web trackers. Plenty of news and info about their tracking to be found. Now go ahead and search for Apple web trackers. I’ll wait. What, few results other than some mentioning Apple’s new anti-tracker technology?
Apple has plenty of data collection of users of their products and services. It’s what you sign up for in the EULA. They shut down their own ad network some years back. They don’t maintain a tracking network on the web. I stand by my earlier post.
I use an iPhone because they are the lesser of the available evils.
Nothing says sticking it to the big corporate fat cats like using a product from the worlds richest company.
You’ve ignored the OP’s point entirely in posting your snark. Say what you like about Apple’s pricing or wealth, they don’t have a network of trackers all over the web collecting data about you and your activities.
We often "rent" videos from our local library. We don't pay anything for them (apart from our local tax dollars which I consider well spent on the library system and any late fees) but I guess you could consider them rentals. Yes, there is often a wait, but my library has an app to manage requests between library branches and renewals which makes it very easy. I'm currently on the waiting list for Spider-Man: Homecoming when a copy is freed up - and I'm the first person in the request queue - the copy will be sent to my library of choice and I'll be notified to come pick it up.
You are a brave soul for stating that you consider any tax dollars well spent around this site. Kudos! I agree with you, libraries are great. I pretty much grew up in my local library.
Exactly! BitCoin is the most ridiculous, sketchy snake oil that has ever been peddled. Now we find that it is extremely wasteful of energy as well. The day bubble bursts and everyone's money has evaporated into the cloud can't come too soon.
But while you get angrier, we're getting richer. BCH up 100% in a day!
I am aware of how speculative bubbles work, thanks. Try to get out before the bubble bursts.
You do realize the existence or non- of life elsewhere has no bearing on religion? The Catholics already have set up a protocol if any is found.
The battle I was talking about will certainly get hotter if life is discovered independent of the earth. It would certainly advance the cause of evolution and science in general with people open to new facts, at least.
Doing dishes takes so little time. How f**king lazy are people these days? I am pretty lazy when it comes to chores but doing the dishes is just not on my list of tasks to roboticize.
They’ve been sending probe after lander after probe for decades now trying to prove there is or once was life on Mars. The battle between Science and Religion played out across the planets. Like the believers would ever be dissuaded by any scientific facts.
You mean just-like-Trotsky-ites... pimping the pauper with the words THEFT-AGENDA substituted for the word RICH.
Or just like the fascists selling a middle class tax cut on the tired old theory that when we give the lion's share of that tax cut to the big corps and the 1% that it will all trickle down to the middle class, eventually. Yes, Trump's economic adviser, Gary Cohn, used the phrase trickle down in an interview just a couple of days ago.
When the rich run the system, Trump's promises notwithstanding, they rig the system to make themselves even richer, so, yes, you could call it a theft agenda.

Let me remind you that nearly every major bank was knowingly selling mortgage backed securities backed by junk mortgages prior to the crash of 2008. Many of those same banks were robo-signing foreclosures without verifying their paperwork, many homeowners had their homes stolen from them through foreclosure, even though they’d never missed a payment, some we’re foreclosed by banks that did not even own the mortgage anymore.
Shall I start on the investment broker business next? Just this year they had new rules requiring them to act in thier client’s best interests ripped up. So I’ve covered about 20% of the U.S. economy, need I go on?
I don't know how many times I've read the now rote description of quantum computing in some sciencey magazine or blog:
"Our regular computers have bits that can be only 1 and 0. A quantum computer has bits that use Superposition, the bits can be both 1 and 0 at the same time"
Every time I read it, I ask my self, so what? So a bit can be both 1 and 0 at the same time. That didn't explain anything at all.
I am not sure that this is a result of Japanese culture per se. I think it is quite symptomatic of modern materialistic and individualistic society that is prevalent throughout the western world.
But it might actually be better to turn Japanese and keep a bit more of things bottled up. Many times I'd rather that than all the BS that is spewed via Twitter and Facebook all day and night.
If it's that easy then why doesn't a Samsung phone have the the best smartphone display according to DisplayMate? Maybe there might have been some improvements made by Apple. Also it might be the case that Samsung as very large corporation with different markets and divisions might not have total synergy and cooperation across different divisions.
Because their hatred and fanboism will not allow them to acknowledge that Apple actually does have something to do with engineering this stuff. If it was all off the shelf tech then, as you suggest, anyone could build “the best display we’ve ever tested”.
...That this has something to do with the ongoing legal battle between Apple & Broadcom. Something like, if Broadcom is a U.S. based company then they can get the ITC to block Apple importing any iPhones due to alleged patent infringement.
Any takers?
I guess I lose the bet. It's Qualcomm not Broadcom that Apple is in a worldwide battle with at present.

Just as Microsoft had an effective monopoly over the desktop operating system back in the late 90's, when they got in trouble for bundling Internet Explorer in an deliberate move to undermine Mozilla.
Pretty sure it was Netscape that Microsoft put out of business in the late 90s.
I've had top notch service from T-Mobile. Service beyond what is expected from a carrier.....If T-mobile came on top, great. If Sprint "leadership" did... I'd probably wind up fleeing to a MVNO.
The idea was that T-Mobile would be running the show after merger. The sticking point was how much SoftBank would get paid in addition to the 40% or so of the combined company they’d still own. T-Mobile didn’t want to pay much. SoftBank should have taken what they could get while the getting was good. Sprint is circling the drain.

I just get the Apple Care+ with the iPhone I can just barely afford. Problem Solved.
Despite the G+ next to my *REAL* name, I don't have any Social Media account. Facebook tried to force one on me but I claimed it as mine only long enough to delete it. No SnapChat or Instagram either.
I prefer face to face, voice phone and occasional texting to other real people.
Litlle passage in the Constitution about being secure in our persons and papers. The government needing a warrant, etc.
IIRC Shazam technology is what Apple is already using.

and the Obama administration.
I can imagine exactly the sort of person who was depressed by a black man being president.
Umm, Donald Trump? All the rest of the alt-right?

Because Bitcoin isn't ANYTHING like that.
Oh wait.

This is different from much of modern business how exactly?

I looked this up a couple of weeks ago. The Intel "K" type enthusiast processors do not have the vPro / ME stuff. Am I wrong here?
