It's just a good thing that April 1st isn't known as a day for any sort of lie, prank, or tomfoolery, so I know that this is completely legitimately happening.

The employees can, of course, use whatever phone they want. The company should not be under any onus to spend extra cash making an app that works on that phone though. Of course, if the company requires a particular type of phone for the employee to do their job, and the employee doesn't have one, then the company should be on the hook for that phone.

  7. In Oregon all construction contractors (and home inspectors, and locksmiths) have a license, and must display the license number on their work vehicles and in advertising. There's a contractor website that lets you search by their license number to verify they're current, that there's no history of complaints, and that they're bonded/insured. They get to hold themselves as "Oregon Certified" in their craft, and of course, are penalized for operating a business without said license. It sounds like the way the law was written for engineers was different than contractors.

We can go back and forth on the definition of sport all we want, and I'm of the opinion that maybe there's merit in that discussion. That said- My real concern is that no matter what video game(s) was chosen, it would be something entirely owned by one company (or companies). Boxing isn't owned by Pepsi. Discus doesn't get patches every few months from EA that change how spin works to deal with changes in the meta. Nobody is going to release a Fencing 2. All of those are things that can and do happen with video games. To me that makes most of the discussion of including video games in the Olympics meaningless.

That is the way to do it. Admittedly, California does have a fair amount of leverage what with the whole west coast domination thing, but that'll only make those companies put forth a bit more effort to get things working with Florida, Georgia, or maybe even Texas, which could probably work rather well what with the business friendly environment coupled with available talent pool there.

  20. I may have missed it, but did the leaks say the CIA was actually using this stuff illicitly? If not, then it's on par with someone leaking that the Army has tanks. Well... yeah, it's par for the course.

Why pay someone 320 bucks a month to do a job when I can pay 400 bucks a month to have a robot do it twice as well. And they won't try to kill themselves.
