Just don't buy one with an "assisted" GPS chip, such as the Motorola Droid. It requires a data connection to get a position fix, even with a standalone GPS application.
I work for a company that happens to design certain large high altitude airships. The bottom of a blimp can look like swiss cheese and still hold it's helium pretty darn well. And the cruising altitude of the unmanned airships being designed fly well above any ground-based missile. Or plane, for that matter.
Bingo! As a minister's son who had to grow up around a lot of nutcases (along with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet), Revelation (and also Leviticus) was one of the most misinterpreted and over-analyzed books I had to hear about. People spend more time agonizing over the end of the world, rather than just be good to others.
Also, as profit margins decline PC manufacturers keep making flimsier and flimsier keyboards.
Yeah, that's why I scrounged around my university surplus store for my Model M..... although it's a bit of a pain switching back and forth between it and my iBook keyboard...
I haven't seen anyone mention this, but Davis Besse has much bigger issues right now. They've been shut down for awhile due to boric acid eating through a containment vessel. There's even a federal investigation on the incompetence of the FirstEnergy Corporation that runs the plant.

The worm is just another symptom of some major problems with the running of that plant.
Yeah, I teach a freshman robotics class, and one of my students gave me a pocket roll from Big Lots as a gift. (Duct tape is usually a defining feature of many of the robots.) I swear it was even called Pocket Tape or something.
it only really deals with SoF, it ignores the other infringing games such as Frogger, Donkey Kong, etc.
The IDSA letter only says the site has ONE OR MORE (but not limited to) infringing items. That list was probably a generic list of games the IDSA have permission to look for.
From what I gather, Unicomp bought all the old IBM keyboard business from Lexmark not too long after Lexmark was spun off of IBM. I find it not too difficult to get hold of cheap Model M's. My university sells piles of keybloards from their surplus division for about $5 a piece, and there are usually a few Model M's there. No, no "Window" key, no multimedia keys, but I LOVE the feel of them. I'm not sure my roommate likes being able to hear it at all hours of the night, though.
This is one of the reasons that Ohio State eliminated their undergraduate education program. Too many people were taking it just to get high grades. The graduate education curriculum still exists, but you must get your undergrad through another route to get there. As for the College of Engineering, I WISH there were some grade inflation.....
Yes, there is still a slowest person in the line, but he doesn't necessarily hold up EVERY operation anymore, so the process can run at the AVERAGE speed, instead of the worst-case speed. This is all data-dependent, though. It can get quite complex between the trade-offs in asynchronous design.
As everyone else has mentioned, it is harder to debug and verify, which is what takes up most of the time in processor development. Also, process variation during fabrication is a huge problem with asynchronous designs. I've been reading some papers about asynch processors, and most of the research designs I've read about never get fabricated.
Also, for most asynchronous designs, when a transistor isn't being used, it's also not firing, which decreases power consumption. This should also lower the EMI, since not as many transistors are needlessly firing.
Well, there is talk about using asynchronous sequential circuits to eliminate clock propagation problems. You also can get higher speed with lower power than clocked designs. However, asynchronous techniques present their own problems, especially with process variations. That's why I'm still a bit iffy on tackling asynch crap as my EE master's thesis.
Yes, and Columbus is actually getting better, for the most part. I've been here six years, and the Arena district has blossomed, along with the Short North getting more interesting. Of course, Ohio State's off campus area is getting razed and replaced with a strip mall. But overall, the town's growing and improving...
I can't knock the NFL over this, especially since there's so many better things to knock the NFL over. I mean, it's not college football, but at least it's still football.:-)

Harmless? That article refers to INDOOR USE... not the indiscriminate spraying that happened decades ago. DDT has its uses, but it is hardly harmless.

Why get up one day a week for a morning of cartoons when you can get them on multiple channels all the time?
"Aries should expect the unexpecte...urrghhh"
Not to be picky, but that's GEMINI's that should expect the unexpecte...urrghhh
I've watched that movie WAY too many times...it's almost unwatchable to me now. I just lend it out to friends now instead of watching it with them...
It may be a tenth of a pound lighter, but it's also a tenth of a kilogram heavier, for some reason? Stupid conversions....

Didn't the monolith tell us to stay away from Europa?

What's the difference between this process and the one reported a few hours ago from MSNBC?
I guess neither makes much sense, although I thought it was Fun Licker, also :-)

I think Futurama might have gotten more of a chance to build a fan base if it weren't always pre-empted by FOX NFL games.
So, when I think "screenshots," I don't usually assume they're pictures of a laptop from a few feet away.....
