It depends on the disc as to whether it's a waste of money or not. Some artists release otherwise-unreleased songs only onto a CD single. You can get a lot of great & obscure music this way, if you're a big fan of a particular artist.
And sometimes those remixes can be way better than the original. It all depends.

That's a nice theory, but I'm gonna guess you haven't been on Slashdot all that long.:) Seriously, I don't think most people really change their opinions based on things they read on Slashdot unless it's something of provable technical merit.

Okay, the thing is, the U.S. is a Republic. We are the "UNITED STATES" of America. The States have a bunch of rights on their own (for instance, the Civil War was not fought over slavery - it was fought over the 'right' of a state to secede from the union. They lost.), and one of the things that States get is disproportionate representation in Presidential elections. Your vote is worth more in a less-populous state than it is in a more-populous state. Fact. A state's electoral votes depends on that state's population, though you don't get double the votes over a state with half your state's population (hence the vote in a less-populous state being 'worth more'), the electoral votes aren't REQUIRED to, but in PRACTICE, DO represent the popular election results. The unfortunate part of the electoral college is that a state's electoral votes aren't required to be split according to the popular vote. Some states, do (not many), but in general, you get one vote more than the other guy, and ALL your state's electoral votes go to one person. That's messed-up, and is the real basis for complaint with the electoral college. It has nothing to do with elitism.

Seattle is a pretty great place to live - you should visit sometime if you like the images on my site; most were taken in and around the Seattle area, with a few Arizona shots thrown in.

We will make no distinction between solar flares, and the stars that sponsor these flares. Our nation will launch a campaign to stamp out all stellar terrorism in our galaxy. These nukyular furnaces of fear will no longer terrorize our nation, or Texas. Anybody wanna peanut?
And if you attach a webcam with some facial-recognition software, you could set it up to display visitor's favourite artists when they enter the room!:)
