The whole programming team got to see it on company time, on the companies nickel. I work for a good company, and have a GREAT manager. I told him I had to take the afternoon off, for "Religious Reasons", while pointing to a pic of the Enterprise in my cube. He sent the whole team, and paid.

    SPOILER TIME:

Uhura is HOT, and almost gets nekkid, while my namesake hides under a bed (he was banging her roommate, a green chick, natch).

MANY decent fist fights, pretty good ship to ship fights, Vulcan turns into a sphincter in space (Uranus?). New Spock, Spock Classic, Peg is very funny, the new Bones will make you do a double take, LOTS of funny stuff and everybody gets to speak at least some of their classic lines.

I have to agree with Rob, the time travel WORKS this time. It lets JJ play and not piss us fanatics off.

So, get your asses out of Mom's basement and go see it NOW, cupcake!

There are approximately two dozen Democratic Senators that are more conservative that that former RINO. Specter would not have voted to maintain a filibuster, ever. Frankly, I am pleased he has "come out of the closet". He was only a "Republican" to get elected, anyway. Also, the only reason he did change parties was the fact he would probably get his ass handed to him in the next primary.

George Bush did many dumb things. Backing Specter in his last primary was among the dumbest. Specter promptly turned around and knifed Bush in the back, and continued to do so.

You know, contrary to the liberal hype, firearms are NOT that difficult to use properly. US Army basic training includes an grand total of three weeks basic rifle marksmanship. Frankly, I could take a willing subject and teach them the basics in an afternoon. Every ship should have some crewmen cross trained in firearms usage. Weapons lockers should be on each ship, with locks and seals when in port. If a port city or country refused to allow such secured firearms, ships would simply no longer stop there. That would last, oh, a day before they changed their minds.

A firearm is simply a tool. The function of a hammer is to drive a nail. The function of a rifle is to send a projectile down range at a high rate of speed. Or, as the SEAL's recently showed, to rapidly empty the cranial cavities of pirates.

Firearms are not "evil", no more than a hammer is "evil". A hammer, properly handled, can drive a nail, or crack a skull. A rifle, properly handled, can do the same.

Never had that happen, but did work at a place that would hand you your check on Friday, and then say, "Don't cash that until Tuesday". I would cash it that day at lunch. Luckily, they never bounced, which a LOT of their checks to vendors did. Most places in the city would only take cash from them.

My last day there, I just left a letter on my bosses desk and walked out. I never gave them a chance to try any shit, which they probably would have. My boss was OK, but the rest of the management, all the way up to the owner, were tools. My boss, who had put up with their crap for years, quit a couple of weeks later.
