Does anybody know if it's possible to setup a dual boot on a PPC? (Linux and MAC OS) If so, any reccomendations?

This is where linux on a mac really shines.

Assuming you like being in linux all the time, it is possible to run MacOS 9.x in a window in linux... see http://maconlinux.org for details. You get to still have ethernet, sound, the whole bit.

That won't run MacOS X.x, but it is kinda there.

The other option is just to reboot, yaboot is a great boot loader (simmilar feature set to grub in the x86 world). It will let you boot MacOS 9.x and 10.x, to cd, and also to the openfirmware.

I have an x86 desktop, and one of the new TiBooks. The desktop and the laptop preform just about the same (I can't tell the differance), but I like working on the laptop so much more, even if I am at my desk. The PPC arch is much nicer to work with. (please note before flaming: the above paragraph is my opinion, and opinions can't be wrong)

The kid did NOT resort to violence. He couldn't go to the authorities, they were part of the problem. Remember, one of the incidents he was responding to was an attack on one of his friends by
the school newspaper. So should he have walked into his school with a machine gun and a backpack full of bombs?
    No.
He vented on the web. What's wrong with that? Are we going to take away all mechanisms for dealing with stress that people have and let them explode and commit suicide or mass
    homicide?
I'm tired of people saying 'That's not the way to handle it' and not offering a better way.
So either put up or shut the fuck up and get the fuck out. We don't need people pretending they are all holy and don't get angry and rant at people that piss them off.
The kid didn't kill anyone, he relieved his stress and made his point. I think he did the RIGHT thing by defending his friends.
He also complimented some of the teachers he thought deserved it, AND he claims he can prove all of his accusations. If he can do that then it's not Libel.

absolutly. A long time ago catholic schools used to take kids that were severly not likeing each other down to the boxing ring. There they would fight it out in front of the rest of the school.
Not only did this release a ton of pent up anger/frustration, but there were teachers there to make sure it never got really out of hand. Also they had boxing gloves on so there was less injury.
Now adays there are no ways for kids to release there anger/frustration. psycologists arn't going to help them in a thousand sessions, they nead to beat each other up untill they learn that there are better ways of dealing with anger themselfs.

Reporters would love to follow those stories up with "Microsoft subverts standards and strongarms little guys". What Roblimo and the crew need to do is run to every media outlet that will listen to them. Also, strike while the iron is hot. The top of the list needs to be The Wall Street Journal. If Monday's front page includes a story about this situation, it would be very damaging. If one mutual fund manager reads about this and says to himself "These are the actions of a company grasping at straws to keep themselves on top of an industry" and sells a ton of MSFT, it's going to put a dent into the net worth of every honcho in Redmond.

That sounds like a good idea, exept that MS is the master of PR. You sugjest making it a PR battle, and that is what MS does best. Why not let it go to court? They have shown before (in the DOJ case) that they are incompetant in court :)

That is a nice way to look at it, and so far the market has regulated itself very nicely. Unfortunatly the market doesn't just happen to regulate it's self. As the saying goes, it takes all kinds. Maby the DMCA/UCTIA was started with good intentions, and went bad. At least someone made an effort to protect content makers.

Now that the law is made, it is our (the consumers) job to fight for our right. I do agree that (mostely) America's legal system is a good one, but this kinda thing has to be fought to get into court and balanced out. I personaly think that (like in the DeCss case) it would be in our best interest to loose early and often so that it goes to the Spreme Court were it can be ruled as unconstitutional.

What these guys are trying to do with a protest is to avoid the whole sticky court thing altogether, and get it ballenced out quickly and fairly without paying lawyers and tying up the (already congested) court system.
