... but why not do this nowdays: give me some "cookie" number when I vote and let me see later (via INet most probably) how have you really counted my voice. Can be done like this: I pull my voting blank from a pool of those (like in a lottery), there's an unique number on it that no-one knows but me. I can write it down to my notebook/PDA if I wish and you - when counting the votes - store to some DB that a given cookie number is registered as a vote for this or that candidate. You can also give me some kind of receipt so that if I find my vote has been messed up somehow I have something to proove it.
Did not they use to have this exactly product (ASE) several years ago free to use on Linux? (IIRC it was a version below their then-current product). And anyway - who needs ASE? Had they offered ASA then that would be talking.
a) Bootable CDs, heard about those? b) If you don't use your floppy drive for several months chances are the next floppy you put in is killed instantly by accumulated dust. Here goes your boot floppy.
You know - since they don't have a free registration I somehow do not feel any ethical problems with this abuses. Don't know why. OTOH - had they really have a free community service...
Yep, idea was nice had they not been pushing every article from some certain sites and other materials that one can be very suspicious of really being ads.
Oh, yeah, another 256MB stick ($30? Does it use the same sticks as PCs do?) would bring the price from $1299 all the way up to $1329. A whopping 2% increase.
Well, I see the picture, and if that's a real thing (I suppose) then I have problems understanding how that small footprint, extra thin thing can work for a 8-11kg piece of equipment. Maybe it does, but I'd be pretty amused then.
Looks kinda heavy (what's its weight?) with somewhat inadequate support/stand. When it falls (and, say, the screen breaks) do they cover it w/ warranty?
What's up with it? Yes, a small HDD with an old cellphone level electronics. $300 bucks it is not IMO. With "Video and WiFi" it won't be below $600 I guess and there are clearly better ways to spend them on quite cool gadgets.
I wonder whether MSIE 6.0 is at 1.0 yet. :)
Whoever modded this as "overrated" is an asshole, frankly.
"That's why I use ROT-13 for my encryption needs."
I swear I've seen this somewhere around here lately.
Apple: spell different.
People can live without that. Now, mouse gestures...!
No more slashdot then?! --shock--
Uhm, no. It's a new NGage.

Post a stupid trolling "article" on slashdot for slashbots (pun intended) to have fun?

Ever tried recording a program in background while playing some game? And me - I don't have my home PC on all the time.

Hmm, it's 0.7% up from 6 months ago!

Wait till you see your IT outsourced to Australian bushmen.
US gets the money (Since IT companies and shoe companies are US-based financially).

At least it's documented. OTOH "filetype:xxx" I cannot find in their docs. Anything else we've been missing? ;)
And resolution, don't forget the screen resolution! :)
It's, like, you mean current crop of LCD monitors have nothing in them about design? Or what?

Cooling?! What cooling? They don't call them Effusion for nothing. What?...
