I can see the use of these things as part of physical therapy or for someone permanently disabled, but it's probably a mistake to use one just because you're getting old - it's a good bet that letting the machine do the work for your muscles will cause your muscles to atrophy even faster.
I honestly can't believe this is such a big deal. Every country has their own DST rules already, any software that needs to work in the global environment needs to know these rules and, best of all, modern operating systems already handle these rules so that individual apps are blissfully unaware of what timezone they are in.
My old site (www.pilotlibrary.org) used to be in the wayback machine but now is listed as "blocked by robots.txt" - the bizarre thing is that the name has apparently been taken by a cybersquatter!
I got snail spam from RadioShack yesterday hawking a personal DVD player the size of a DVD case and it's on sale for $99
I honestly think UMD is another dead-end format.
People want something to blame for their troubles and scary chemicals have replaced the fairies and witches that the same people would have blamed 100 years ago.
To claim that a particular child's disease was caused by mercury in their vaccine is to ignore and disparage the millions of children who were saved from disease by that same vaccine; not to mention it ignores those countries that have stopped using mercury in their vaccines yet haven't seen a drop in the occurrences of autism.
Solaris was a superhero movie? Solaris?!? Are we talking about the story by Stanislaw Lem?
As for the rest of your list - which of these are superheros, exactly? The only entry on your list that's even vaguely appropriate is the kung fu flicks and, guess what, they're famous for being cheesy garbage, too!
Superman is ordered by the government to "bring Batman in" and Batman responds with an elaborate scheme to make sure they die together. (which is what the OP was alluding to.)
(Yes, I know that's not *really* what Batman has planned, but I don't want to drop any spoilers...)
Except that if you want to play PC games you have to upgrade your video card every 18 months, slap in more memory, yada, yada, yada.
Meanwhile, I moved my kids to console gaming years ago, after I got tired of spending my evenings trying to debug why my son's copy of Quake Raider IV-b wouldn't boot. Upshot - I haven't had to upgrade PC hardware in 5 or 6 years.
First, I have to say that I've played every FF I've been able to find, except X-2 and XI.
I really do appreciate and enjoy Square's history of making each FF game different from the game before, but I don't play online games (I have a family) and I can't buy fanservice games (I have a wife;-P)
(Actually, the thing I don't think I could stand is my son making comments while I'm trying to find just the right outfit to wear into battle...)
Anyway, FF isn't a series, like LOTR or Star Wars, it's a brand, like Dreamworks or Pixar. As long as there are new story lines, there is room for new FF games.
The only thing I hold against Square is that boring movie. What were they thinking?
Setting aside the argument that open source == linux, he does have a point - even within Linux itself.
My company sells custom hardware that runs on Linux. 75% of our effort is making sure that our drivers run on every !#$@%!@ variation and distro. We earnestly hope that someone's drivers for our type of hardware will end up part of the kernel - simply because then we can build our hardware to match the kernel and leave support of all the distros up to the lunatics who seem "tweak" the kernel APIs on every single dot release.
There are scenes in Star Wars that are so memorable that they've become shared cultural cliches. The garbage-smasher scene. Luke's swing across the abyss. They Cantina scene, or Leia as Jabba the Hutt's slave.
I think you're dating yourself. My kids re-enacted the pod racing scenes over and over, and my daughter still refuses to accept that little Ani grows up to be Vader.
Look at Chewbacca. He can only speak in unintelligible grunts, yet he is a complex character with conflicting traits whom we end up caring about by the end of of the movie.
Ummm... Given that nothing actually ever happens to Chewbacca in SWIV, what the heck are you talking about? The only time I cared about Chewbacca was when I wondered why he didn't get the same kind of medal Solo did, or why he had to stand on a lower step during the ceremony.
"Retirement Rangers! Form Ultra-Mecha-WheelChairzord!"

How smart can he be if he doesn't know the difference between being unique (singularly) and being a black hole (singularity)?

So...
Who cares if someone adds a new ruleset?

At least some of the podcasts are in AAC format.
did you forget that ethanol production is subsidized by the feds?
Congress has no authority over the matter.
If you want to restrict eminent domain you need to pass laws in the state legislatures.

Glad to see you understand floating point arithmetic.
If most statistics were correct to one part in a 100 billion, I'd trust the government more.
So an error of 1 part in 100 billion is worth getting excited about?
What has Intel been showing off their Mac Mini clone if their chips are going to be in real Mac minis?
do you expect to build their own machines?
but no one cared.

My choices are:
1) Buy a $2500 PC that's got all the latest-greatest-buggiest video and audio drivers so that I can play games on it or...
2) Buy a $500 PC and a $300 game console.
Gosh, you're right. I should buy the more expensive PC because.... uh... nevermind.

'cause if his code is like his blog, it's pretty bug ridden.
...multiple configurations mean diverts energies....
...even to undeserving once like...
...more about winers who complain ...
Damned, ungrateful oenophiles!

You're just frustrated because you didn't notice Padme was walking around without any pants on.
