You forgot to add that Apple's standard song is 4 minutes long, which at 128kbps comes to 3.8MB.
Actually, Apple is a little inconsistent. They round the song numbers to make them come out even. If you believe the Shuffle's numbers of 120 songs in 512MB, then that's 4.27MB/song. But the Nano's 500 songs / 2 GB comes to 4.0MB/song.
I'd put excellent odds on OSX-x86 being able to run Windows apps through some sort of VMWare-ish compatibility layer (possibly VMWare itself). And of course it will support 64bit; it already does.
Seconded. If the music you're scanning is remotely complex, the software will fuck it up completely. You'll spend more time fixing its mistakes than you would have just entering the music by hand or with a MIDI keyboard.
You've been able to edit menus in GNOME for a long time. I'm not on a Linux box at the moment, so I can't be sure of the details, but I think you can go to applications:/// in Nautilus and delete/add menu shortcuts. In addition, you can find wherever it is that GNOME stores the menu hierarchy (somewhere under/usr/share/gnome/ IIRC) and just edit it directly.
The new menu editor is a convenience, but not really a necessity. After all, Windows doesn't have a menu editor and it seems to get along just fine (then again, the Start menu does allow a lot more drag-and-drop manipulation than the foot menu).
designing web sites for broken browsers is like giving illegal immigrants drivers' licenses
The difference being that illegal immigrants don't make up 95% of the population.
(Unless you consider all non-Native American people in the US to be illegal immigrants, which could be argued for but probably isn't what you're talking about.)
It sure sounds to me like they're fleeing in search of refuge. The "as in" clause is providing examples, not limiting the definition to those factors only.
The Revolutionary and Civil Wars weren't exactly popular uprisings in the same sense as, say, the French Revolution. And the Whiskey Rebellion was a relatively minor event.
AFAIK, those numbers are only on the prices paid to the oil companies, and don't include taxes or the cut taken by the filling station. So the real-world pump prices will be higher.
Lots of people didn't know they wanted a dual-screen handheld until after Nintendo came out with the DS. How about holding off on the criticism until we actually see what this is and what it feels like?
You're behind the times. These days (given a suitable connection) you can download the full DVD images in their original quality. Or so I've been told...
IANAL, but I don't believe you have to upload the whole file. Fair use lets you reproduce a small sample for review purposes, and anything after that is infringement. Even if you only upload a couple minutes of a movie, you're still legally liable.
Tiny FM radios usually use AA, AAA or watch-type batteries (depending on how tiny we're talking). I can't imagine ever having to plug one in.

What the fuck? Are you trying to say people can't have food or wear clothes not provided by FEMA? What's the difference between that and radio?

You, sir, have been trolled.
Which is why people were surprised to learn that Satoru Iwata, the president of Nintendo, is giving a keynote address.

Infinitely many. I can rip it and put copies on as many of my computers as I want for my own personal use.
It's huge amd hard to stream. Quicktime MP4 would probably be a better choice.
Yeah, this patent applies to Eternal Darkness. It was filed in 2000.
The parent was comparing Vista to XP, not OSX.
The 2.6 kernel is the current version; not 10 years old.
With research into preventing aging people can be productive workers long past the current retirement age.
Heh. I meant it to be serious; lots of people really like the DS. Then again, I can certainly see where you're coming from. :-)

Come on. The Harry Potter books aren't high literature, but they're not crap books either. Certainly not nearly as bad as Dan Brown's stuff.
What makes you think women didn't write the tests? I've known several women who work for standardized testing companies.

Being old doesn't make it wrong. And not everyone who points out the stupidity of statements like "they're suing their customers" is astroturfing.
