Frodo facing the Nazgul is not quite as earthshattering a spoiler as Darth Vader telling Luke that he's the whiny little brat's father (that was a majorly spoiled Empire for me when I was 7, let me tell you...). But, it spoils about the same as Obi-wan's ghost. the ghost shouldn't have been too much of a spoiler, considering that Alec Guinesses's name showed up on the poster and the credits...

In a filmic sense, I saw no problem with Frodo going to Osgilith. It worked for the movie and the fact that jackson had to move a few things around so that Frodo and Sam had something to do in the third movie...

The point is not that you are coming across as an illiterate slob. The point is that there are no such things as spoilers when it comes to this story. It's akin to saying the same thing if there was a movie series and games based on the Bible - too many people know it. You are in a minority of the people who will see the movie, and an even more extreme minority of the people who will see the movie and play the game.

You can choose not to play the game before the movie if you really want to just watch the movies. But, for God's sake, don't assume that these are spoilers. They aren't, except for you and the members of the extreme minority in which you find yourself.

In Panther, remove the toolbar and view in icon mode or list (if you prefer to stack your directories).

Did you notice that you're the only one on the board who reads negativity into this?

Nintendo was never the only game in town and has always had to fight. First they had to knock off Atari (easily done because of the gaming bust in the early 80s), then they had to fend off Sega (which really meant they tied with them between the SNES and the Genesis). The break with Sony (imagine if that project had come through - GTA on the N64 and the GC?!?!) and the stupid choices made for the N64 is where they stumbled, and that stigma has affected the GC. The GC is definitely a more balanced system (do you see a Pikachu edition of the GC?), and there are more games on it for 30-year-olds than 10-year-olds. I think many people are starting to notice that.

When you consider that the Famicom has been around for 20 years now, and that the GBA is as readily available as water, you have to admit that Nintendo isn't going anywhere. They're the only ones to have lasted this long. Atari's gone, Sega's out of the game, 3DO is dead and buried and Bandai is almost out of the running. So people may buy a GC as a second and not primary console - that's okay! Once they've firmly established themselves in second place (and, remember, we're talking in the US, not worldwide), then they can start working on how to take the top spot again. this is precisely where Sega fell apart. They were so focused on taking the #1 spot that they didn't focus on the places and things that mattered (the DC is a great system, it's just missing a lot of great exclusive games...sort of like the Xbox). Nintendo is looking at bettering itself step by step. Not a bad idea, really.

There may come a point where there is not a console being developed by Nintendo, and we all have to admit that, but when that happens, it just means more creativity going into handheld gaming. :)

Arguably, no one looks to a blog to be anything other than opinions, not statements of fact. If I were a reporter writing a story on said former player and stated something in the story like "he murdered two people, but was never convicted for it," then he would have every right to sue as I had stated that as fact, not opinion.

Or they could be the next late-'90's HP or mid-'90's Apple. Remember the QuickTake? The MacTV? The Pippin, the Apple set-top box, the printers, the floppy discs, the cds...I think Apple even branded small children who just happened to walk by 1 Infinite Loop.

Dell is on the line between becoming the next Sony or completely losing focus, like Apple and HP did in the '90s. The thing to keep in mind about Sony is that they grew to where they are in a different era, and consumer electronics is a completely different starting point than computer manufacturing.

And, also keep in mind that the layoffs are because of losses Sony is incurring due to poor sales of the PS2 (who doesn't have one? I saw a homeless guy playing one the other day...) and their Trinatrons. Once there is a reason for more people to buy a PS2 (or PS X or PS3 or whatever), once they start moving massive amounts of Wega sets (you've seen the commercials, right?) and if there is reason to buy a PSP, then Sony is on top again. Now, will #1 happen any time soon? No, I don't think it'll happen without a move to a $99 price for the PS2 or introduce the PS3 early. But the other two could, possibly, bring some of those 20K jobs back, especially the move to the flat panel sets (the PSP is in an uphill battle against the GameBoy). So Sony is not out of the game. Far from it.

So, if Dell is aiming for Sony, I would suggest they look closely at the lessons Apple and HP have to offer and think very carefully about what they're up against. Sony isn't rolling over for anyone, least of all a cut-rate PC vendor.

Same thing happens when I lend my books or comics, etc., to friends. I expect the item back. And, for pure practicality, no one is going to photocopy Quicksilver and try to add that to their library the same way they could download every Rolling Stones album from P2P.

It comes down to the fact that Xbox has two good exclusive games: Halo and KOTOR, and now Halo will be outdone by its PC and Mac versions...so that leaves KOTOR. So, for someone like me (who has eight consoles and finds time to play every other day or so), a console that only has one good exclusive game is not going to find a space near my TV.

If Shenmue III is an Xbox exclusive, however, then I will have to break down and buy one (used, I'm thinking).
