with cards, what stops a pissed-off cow-orker from clocking you out several hours early? or simply hiding or destroying your card? ever try to get a replacement card at the start or end of a swing shift when no-one able to issue such things is available?
it's not just illicit clock-ins that screw up the system.

of course a crack may not even present such an agreement box. i kinda like the irony of it:)

the only sensible firewall is a physically separate machine. (not some app running under your windows).
anyone who desires real security suddenly has a NAT situation and in violation of the one-machine ISP rules. (one host? 'host' is a loaded term best avoided). and most modern cheap retail router boxes for consumers places them into this situation.
but of course removing the ability for individuals to have real security is a modern day goal anyway.

possibly because the mp configuration uses more logic circuits in the chip. more active circuits at a given clock rate equals more heat ? and more strange RF effects. strange RF effects can possibly induce more heat situations by interacting with other chip real estate ?
i'll be honest and say i'm wild guessing. but those of you who yell "its pure bull" have yet to show me your high-RF circuit design credentials...
