  1. It's all just politics in the end.

That's true but that's how politics works. Parties lose favor with old themes, so they go looking for new ones that will get people to vote for them. That's the purpose of your vote, to (theoretically) kick them out for not doing what people want.

  2. White men committing suicide 3x more than any other racial/gender group is yet another sign of their privilege! We need to figure out how to get those number of black women killing themselves up for equality! (Very strongly /s to be clear).

3 comments, all critical of the women for complaining. So you're all okay with sexual harassment and discrimination by sex when it happens to women. You guys are like a broken AI - predictable responses that could be churned out by a bot. Or just cut-n-paste whole threads from previous discussions, because it's always the same, whether it's about pay, sexual harassment, discrimination in its many forms -

I see you're doing the classic project. These feminist-themed topics are always very predictable like a broken AI. Was the a man involved? He was bad and wrong. Was there any kind of sexual tension involved? Bad and wrong, women should not be involved in sex ever. That's the feminist narrative.

and then you wonder why your cubby-farm mates are almost all dudes.

Women chose professions based on social status, a group of people constantly pushing "computers are bad for women" is not in any way interested in women actually working in the field. They're interesting in keeping women out of it. Actually real actual women (not fake feminist straw-women) chose environments with what feminists define as "harrassment" as vastly preferrable to boring coding working behind a computer. Sales environments are far far more aggressive and obnoxious, but given it an an option, women vastly prefer to do that rather than dry computer work. The pathological need to drive minor social conflict into hysteria only benefits the employers who prefer their employees to be sexless lifeless drones.

  5. The irony is that the goal is to better exploit women's labor, not to "protect" them. Studies have consistently showed that unmarried women are more profitable than married women are. There's a very clear line that women that never get married are more profitable. So these themes are pushed heavily to make sure that women stay socially isolated from men and single. Women are encouraged to look with disgust or disdain any time a man does anything that might lead to dating.

Both of these things are bad advice. It's true about core muscles but back pain also involves the glutes, and other overly tight and strong muscles that need to be relaxed. A lot of people can't train their core muscles because other muscle groups are tight and pulling things out of place keeping the core muscles from engaging. Crunches are an absolutely terrible exercise for core strength. They only work the least important core muscle, and making that muscle overly strong while neglecting the other core muscles causes disfunction and issues.

I think because of a combination of cost, energy efficiency, and trying to meet color reproduction specs, they've been using one of the worst possible backlights in monitors. Another thing that helped a lot was buying new glasses with an anti-reflective coating. I don't mean any of the computer-specific stuff, but the regular fifty dollar anti-glare coating helped a lot to. It seems like computer monitors aren't taken seriously by the industry. Now he's her boyfriend, there's never again an opening to date her and they get married and have kids, but only after your continued interest in her means you don't pursue other girls and she subtley scares other girls away - until after you're out of college and no longer surrounded by women at which time she slowly cuts off contact with you because it would be "weird" as she is married now and you're left with an empty dead end job and no romantic prospects in your 30's wondering where you went wrong. One day another guy from your college friend group adds you on facebook, you get together to talk, he tells you about how she talked all the time about how much she liked you, and was really upset you didn't make the move you were supposed to, so she got herself drunk at a party and fucked the guy from her biology class who wasn't as nieve as you - that's her husband now. Women staying at home are not profitable. To maximize the profit to be made off women you need to convince them that they have to work. Feminism is the group that does this, their message basically comes down to "making a sandwhich for your husband is oppression, spending 9 hours a day making sandwhiches for strangers is 'freedom'". Studies on women's happiness has shown it's dropped every year since about 1973, the more feminism women get, the more unhappy they get. Managers with big ego's thinking they're a special little snowflake trying to pretend programming is a place where you can come up with a simple 6-8 hour chunk of work every single day that gets accomplished with no bugs and no unpredictable behavior day after day week after week. LOL. As an experienced developer, I know that of 10 tasks, 7 will go well, 2 will take extra time or cause bugs, and 1 will be a total clusterf!@#. But with a longer cycle, I can do a decent job of time estimates to have the extra time in there where I know things will go wrong. I don't have any idea which task it will be beforehand - I just know if will be one of them. With Agile the manager once again has a big ego freakout when task #4 ends up taking 4 times longer than the other tasks. Well boo-hoo - we've been doing this for years, and it happens every time. You just don't know which task it will be that causes the web page to stop working for no good reason, or triggers a compatibility issue on the server because they setup the jvm wrong, or works fine in Firefox but doesn't work in IE because of an IE bug - etc. Just because your manager's huge ego means that he thinks that if we just say some inspirational sayings every morning and tell him everything is going great, that that's suddenly going to make all of our tasks easy and predictable and will magically remove that bug that pops up because John's calendar library uses getById, but Tom's page puts a name on the firm, then Thales updated the html header type, and the page doesn't work when I add a calendar to it in IE10. The managers ego is sooooo offended by that - why isn't your task done in my neat little timeframe? The manager is a special snowflake, that's supposed to make these things never happen any more. At least with waterfall I can somewhat plan out that most tasks will go well, but 1 or 2 will be a nightmare and average them out in the schedule.
