The Admin before me lost 30 days worth of business data because he wasn't checking backups. He also lost all of the usr accounts six months earlier because he didn't check the NT server backup. All of the business files had to be re-entered before statements were sent out later in the week.
I started out as a "Tape Monkey" doing overnight concurrent backups, so I knew that backups were job 1.
I remember a case where once the "squatter" offered to sell the name back to the owner, he lost all right to that name. So by offering the "buy this domain" link, they have forfeited there rights. Look here for more information. See the header "Bad Faith"
Yes, I'll agree with Brunes, the browser is more like "Mozilla for IE Users". Looks very much like IE, unless you change the toolbar.bmp files. Fast and nice. I've been using Opera and older versions of K-Meleon (just d/l the new version) and it's about as fast as opera. Give it a try.
Nothing wrong with David Siegel, he created some of the first books on web development and web design and is an expert in the field. If anyone is an expert it's him. Who do you want instead?
well, that might fix some of the problems, but since Mozilla or Opera isn't completely w3c compliant we're really getting nowhere.
If MS wants to block the traffic, let them. It's their ad selling that will suffer. A monopoly is one thing, but when ad dollars decline because 20%-30% of potential viewers can no longer see the site, the financial emphasis will return. If Wendy's or KFC blocked 20-30% of potential customers, there would be hell to pay. Microsoft being a public company wants to make money and they dont' want bad PR.
My Newton 120 came with Graffiti. I use it and the virtual keyboard instead of the built in Apple software. That was the first project of Palm's before they built a PDA.
If I was in that situation, I believe I would setup an anonymous (anonymous as in not your real name)Hotmail or Operamail account and send an email to the person calling from the other company. They might not use your information, but it would be in the back of their mind. Stop the chain of crappy workers.
IBM became a major investor of NetObjects a few years ago. NetObjects Fusion allowed pages to be created off of one main template. I know NOF was around before the IBM partnership, but did they get a patent in exchange for their investment? The patent involved sounds like it was.
NetObjects closed on August 1 and just recently sold their products to Website Pros and the patent rights to Macromedia.
eMail might be there before my letter, but it's also ignored by the goverment. They would perfer to have letters, some of the 65+ year-old senators hate dealing with computers. It's like dealing with a lot of pointed headded bosses.
Well the actual problem is with the broad brush approach. Carnivore is looking for words or transmissions from everyone on the system not the intended suspects (remember, we are innocent until proven guilty.). When they can use surveillance to get the suspects' email and internet surfing without interfering with my right to privacy then I would be all for it, but until that happens I'm against Carnivore.
A detective who is performing surveillance on a suspect would be unable to use evidence that he gathered on someone else in the same building if that person wasn't also covered under the Judge's orders.
In the future, register a domain name under someone else's name. A girlfriend or a family member who isn't involved with the organization. That way they wouldn't be able to trace it with student records.
I ran an auction for a demo version of Novell Netware 5.0 that also included a cd of test prep and other software demos that I had received from Novell Users International. I've never used the software since my company moved to NT (don't do it). It was a 3 user demo that I wanted to sell. I put it on ebay and within 2 days it was removed because the license needed to be transfered with permission from Novell. I never agreed to their license and it was given to me by NUI. But they removed it and would not return my emails and phone calls.
If I had mod points and could score you higher than a 5 I would.
I think people always rate the new shows lower because of their initial love for the original show. Everyone said how much TNG sucked, then DS9, and Voyager. Well you know what, they did suck for the first year. Then they understood the cast chemistry and acting abilities better and could make the next seasons better. I didnt' think the new show was that bad, it started off a lot better than DS9 did.
We have to remember that this isn't Roddenberry's universe, it's a hundred years way.
I'm not comparing Abi with the suite as a whole, but in quality. It is comparable to Word and seems to run better on slower systems that Star or Word2k. As far as features, it's a word processor not a Desktop Publishing program not a graphics program. I doubt anyone uses all of the features in any program. Why have that bloat when it is unnecessary.
I'm using.9.2 daily and I know for a fact that I am using word doc files. I can update in Abi then send to someone using Word and they don't know I'm using something different.
It looks like Universal would rather deal with the Incredible Hulk than the Terminator.
"MkLinux is the only linux which supports booting on NuBus"
Nope, sorry.
PPCLinux for Nubus systems has been going since last year and has a very active mailing list.
It's not a rumor...click here. There have been some international editions that have continued their print editions, but it looks like it's returning.
I live in East Tennessee and I have DSL and the choice of Cable Internet.

yes, but what else does it run on? not everyone uses KDE and this would at least enable people to use it on Linux, Mac, OS/2, maybe Win32 soon.
doesn't work in Opera. I changed my settings in Opera to show up as IE 5 and I get the upgrade page.

I have about a 5-6 year old Logitech Mouse Trackball with three buttons and an ADB connector. And it cost me $25, the same as a PC mouse.

The TiBook will be revised before the iBook (ICEBook).
