These people are obviously not aware that the standard unit of measurements for the press is Rhode Island and Texas. Without phrasing it in these units, I have no idea how much data that really is.
It only takes a year for this to turn into almost $1B. MS might have a lot of money sitting around, but I doubt it could let $2.4M dribble away like this. Especially when you consider that they are already taking another financial hit with making the 360.
Really, did anyone not know that this sort of thing was going on? I mean, just look at the coverage of the three new consoles, and you can easily tell which "news" site is being paid by which manufacturer.
No, but there is something called "testing." You see, with all of the resources and experience that Microsoft has, don't you think they should have the good sense to go back and check to make sure everything else was working before issuing an update?
And more importantly, as someone else said above us, if they are going to claim backwards compatibility with Xbox games, then it should be 100% backwards compatible now, not a little bit now, little bit more in a couple of weeks (oops! sorry, that broke something, back to where we were). If you weren't a "geek," you would want it to just work. and you would be justified in being upset when it didn't.
Product placement can be overdone though. Take a movie like "The Island." It being a crappy movie aside, the product placements were overbearing and blatant. The examples you site were more subtle because the focus was on the other things going on, and it just happened to be using a Nokia phone or Dr. Pepper can. I just hope that findings such as this doesn't drive more "Island" type placements.
I went with what the controller video showed me, which is a dude playing a kit. I used to play in marching band, and i thought about doing that. but seeing as how most marching music would be beyond the average user, and couple that with the fact that air drumming gives you ZERO rebound, you are left with what? Flams and 8th notes? real exciting.
think about actually playing just your hands on the drumset. you end up with just playing a bunch of 8th notes the entire time. and anything beyond 8th note fills would be beyond most casual gamers. and for people who actually can play the set, not having pedals would be boring.
you know, i have seen this "two controllers for drums" thing float around for a while. i know it was in their "commercial" for the controller. and i consider myself a nintendo fanboy.
that being said, playing a drumset is a lot more than two hands - it requires two feet as well. a drumset is a four-appendage instrument (unless you are that dude from Def Leppord), and a game based around such a thing would, to me, feel lame without some sort of foot controls.
"New?" I don't know about you, but the only time I see the word "New" is in the spelling of the word "News."
News, by definition, is a report of recent or unkonwn events. I would put 8 days well within the recent timeframe. And I didn't know about it. So I would say this definitely qualifies as "News" for me.
Not to burst your bubble too much, but the Micro *IS* the first edition of a Nintendo product. It might have the GameBoy label, but that doesn't mean it won't suffer the same pains as every other first edition ever created.
"However, he did say that SCE is planning something for the event that is sure to be a 'major' surprise."
Its a new controller that looks like a remote control. However, rather than just one remote control, you get TWO! Plus, each one has 7 face buttons and 4 trigger buttons! What innovation!
Remember, this is an early version. Nintendo said they will be doing more refining before launch. The DS looked rough when it was shown at E3, but by launch it had been streamlined considerably. And Nintendo has close to a year to get the ergo bugs out.
The Z button was added on late in development by Nintendo at the request of developers. Which is exactly why its placement feels like an after throught, because it was.
The Declaration basically says that if we don't like our government, we should overthrow it, which is what our fore fathers did. But in today's America, to try and do such a thing would likely get you labeled as a terrorist, with no legal recourse.
The only thing left to do is try to work within a broken system. Once again, our fore fathers left means to fix it, but I am sure any attempt to do so would get a label of unpatriotic, or a terrorists, or both.
Damned if you do, and damned if you don't. God bless America.
Add in the fact that compatibility with current XBox games is sketchy at best, and you will be *required* to buy at least one game. So it is a high cost for folks new to the system as well as those who are already XBox owners. So much for the built-in loyalty discount (a la PS1 to PS2).
There is no way this can fly, as it will more than likely mean less accessibility, and thus less adhearence to 508. While that isn't a big deal in the corporate world, it is in the government. Certain things are exempt (maps in an IMS, for instance), but I can't imagine this sort of thing, which is more than likely just a simple form with f'ed up javascript, gaining an exemption.
If you own all three of the current consoles, then what's the problem with waiting a year for the Revolution? It isn't like new games for your current systems are going to dry up that quickly.

That's strange...I click "Shut Down" when I want to shut down Windows. Clicking on the "Start Button" does nothing for me other than bring up a menu.

Does it really matter? The games ARE the system. If the games suck, then the system sucks, no matter how great the system might be technically.

I for one welcome our new gorilla overlords.

An alternate translation is...
"The coyote of the desert likes to eat the heart of the young and the blood drips down to his children for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. "

I guess you picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

You can save your searches in Dreamweaver to be reused. Very helpful if you find yourself repeating a particular search.
"In ar article about the search company looking for new executive chefs..."
So I guess Google is branching out into the food business?

And you know, my IE blocks popups. Has for a while now. I am pretty sure it was an update that was included with the XP SP2 update.
